Union of Notorious Plunderers.

In the October elections last year, except certain areas in the North and the Wanni under terrorist influence and the alien inclined metropolitan easy money preferred areas in the Colombo District all other areas in Sri Lanka gave a clear mandate for the PA to govern the country. The benevolent rural masses took that bold and prudent decision as the President was duly empowered to rule the country for another six years and all Provincial Councils, majority of Municipal Councils and nearly all Urban Councils and Pradeshiya Sabhas were under the dominion of PA. The rural masses who are politically more enlightened than the money adoring urban elite took this gallant decision since they preferred and desired a stable inter related non confrontational administration in the centre and the periphery.

Unfortunately the consortium of discontented terrorists, loan sharks, media barons, underworld Mafiosi and communal chauvinists sensing an immutable setback for their gruesome activities conspired to forcibly reverse the people's mandate and implant an unconstitutional reactionary puppet regime. Every means, including mobilisation of misguided innocent people with a view to induct confrontations with security personnel and thereby immolate hundreds of innocent people, were used to grab power. The unethical unconstitutional endeavours to illegally rob power hindered government activities for almost five months. These conspiratory attempts were thwarted by the JVP with a realistic agreement to implement benevolent measures that further aggrieved the reactionary elements, leading to pooling their resources and procure corrupt elements in the PA, reportedly by alluring them with immense financial benefits.

The migration of these corrupt elements to the UNP has completely and irreversibly changed the ethics, value and structure of the UNP transforming it to a UNION OF NOTORIOUS PLUNDERERS. This Union of Notorious Plunderers (UNP) has buried forever the Party formed by the Senanayakes and Bandaranaikes and nurtured by the many outstanding sons of this nation. Today the Union of Notorious Plunderers (UNP) had shut the door for many traditional party activists. Quota defaulters, Castle builders, Jungle eaters, and their ilk of dual tongued who would betray anyone and anything for personal gain run supreme in this Union of Notorious Plunderers (UNP) which is making a drastic effort plunder the whole nation. Not a single person who defected from the PA to this Union of Notorious Plunderers has the ability to claim his integrity publicly. Complete lack of mass support to join their migration and tremendous resistance among the original UNP membership to accommodate these fortune seekers confirm the people's distrust of these turncoats.
