The Re-Commencement Of Violence In The East and North East Reeks Of LTTE Coercion.

It seems beyond speculation that the LTTE have chosen to barnstorm the Administration into a response which may spark off an excuse to resume their campaigns of violence despite the Peace Process which now hangs in the balance with its credibility and validity fast evaporating into being nothing more than cheap rhetoric considering the number of postponements and woe betide the soft pedalling stance of the Administration who have dispelled all caution by the visionary analysts that the lull in the Nation was temporary as it would have to atone for a grave error should the present violence in the East and North East continue unquelled and permitted to escalate further!

Open allegations that Prime Minister Wickremasinghe ‘has lost his nerve’ and is caving in to ‘extremist’ Sinhala demands are rife in the propaganda machines of the LTTE as a result of the call by Mr. Wickremasinghe towards a political consensus of all parties for the resolution of the East / North-East conflict. The LTTE have apparently shown their disrespect and objections to Mr. Wickremasinghe's objectives which to all intents and purposes constitute of democratic practices of which political consensus is indeed a part of and the re -commencement of violence in these areas through the aggravation of the Muslim and other Communities has to be interpreted as an attempt by the LTTE to coerce Mr. Wickremasinghe into a course of action worked out by them which in the long run would prove advantageous to them.. Quoting LTTE newsengine TamilNet which has outlined that "the question as to whether the UNF actually needs Sinhala consensus - given its crushing victory over its opposition on this very matter - is not as important as whether any progressive agreement is indeed possible when 'Sinhala extremists' dominate the ranks of the main opposition" end quote, the LTTE have committed themselves to a direct contradiction of all their falsely projected empathies towards a lasting peace in Sri Lanka with their age old excuse that the Sinhalese are radical extremists..

Lately the terms ' Sinhala hardliners and extremists' have been used rather loosely by the various dissenting minorities within the land voiced very audibly by the LTTE Propagandists in particular, who fail to realise that the adjectives have been activated purely by their own myopic vision and a mentality far removed from the need to co-exist and abide by the laws of the land. In the feudally motivated society that Sri Lanka has been for generations the majority normally rules within the Parameters of Democracy and regardless of what the minorities care to dub themselves as being , they the minorities are rebels against democracy and revolutionaries who would never settle for anything other than a continuous upheaval of the system as the finger pointing at the legitimate sons and daughters of the land, the Sinhala Majority continues and has been the excuse for the LTTE to fashion themselves as quasi l iberators of a non existent idealogy in the puerile manner the world has come to recognize with no visible resolution to the woes of the Nation in sight.

It is a historical fact that despite the rantings and ravings of the minorities, over the decades there have always been equitable concessions granted to all the citizens of the land and in particular during the 100 odd years of British rule the Tamil minority had more concessions and enjoyed more privileges in many walks of life both industrially and socially until the nationalistic fervour spearheaded by great visionary Sinhala leaders took over and initiated a controlled dominance which has lasted to this day and age much to the chagrin of the minorities who chose to resort to an armed insurrection and hence the ongoing conflict which once again looms on the horizon even moderately as an attempt to tear apart once more the National Infrastructure and one which must be defended against.

Representing their own Minority without concensus or authorization the LTTE have never given up their lopsided push towards their ambitions for a Separate State as the events of the last 48 hours in the Easten and North Eastern Provinces have proved beyond reasonable doubt and there seems to be a flavour of instigation on the part of the LTTE who appear to be attempting coercion towards a conflict with the Armed Forces as there have been reports of Mortar Attacks against civilian populations which reeks of provocation where extreme caution needs to be exercised by the Government while law and order is maintained.
