Recent Skepticisms About Alternatives Towards Maintaining Peace Suggest The Merits Of Unity Towards Eliminating the Root Cause

While the Wickremasinghe Administration continues to pussyfoot into the boudoir of the LTTE hoping to gain favours of an unknown nature as it seems, the wisdom of the analysts, some of them formerly from within their own rank and file who know the LTTE master moves on a first hand basis and better than any one else, conclude that the LTTE are headed in no other direction than the one in which they were headed at the very inception of their insurgency, towards their ill concieved Shangri La of Eelam.

Although the hostilities of war have now ceased to be through the Norwegian Brokered Peace Talks there are many who believe in the unpredictable nature of the LTTE when it comes to maintaining a principle which might not be to their advantage and have warned against relaxing overly in permitting the LTTE any further concessions which may lead to the eventual and unpredictable disaster and the merits of stemming permanently any avenues the LTTE may try to use to justify any return to hostilities which although not to their advantage may be an eventuality considering the brainpower which controlls their operations and the rank disregard to human life and public property behind the decision making which has more often than not been a combination of apathy and ignorance directed from a lair in the deep recesses of the Wanni!

Should there be any suggested justifications in turning a blind eye to the impending dangers of a re-grouped and re-armed LTTE based on an anticipated show of good faith by the Administration, they must be refuted considering what the implications might turn out to be where help may be a long time coming and may not be in the best interests of Sri Lanka on a speculated basis and the essence of the saying "Time and Tide For No Man Awaiteth' ringing true! should the vagaries of an armed insurrection re- surface purely by neglect of the Ruling Party and its failure to set in place the fortifications necessary to repel such an insurrection speculative though it may seem. Considering the real deterrents that await such an unfortunate eventuality, the might of supportive Superpowers and Global Unity against terrorism in assisting Sri Lanka's Defences which would surely spare no pains to if needed to send the already loose tigers running for cover! where time may be of the essence there however remains a bastion of hope that in the end wisdom and logic will prevail.

There has been an ominous prediction made to the tune that "The Tigers Will Break The Ceasefire As Soon As They Are Ready" to which a counter euphemism may be applied that the "Tigers will be routed in the eventuality of a ceasefire violation by the Powers that be!" on assurances given not only by the US Government but also the Indian Government whose combined strategies should all but annihilate the LTTE beyond recognition where a message should be sent out to them that there is no alternative to a return to the Peace Talks while considering surrendering their leader in hiding to the authorities seeking his indictment and furthermore the LTTE have now exceeded all paramaters set in place by the MoU and Ceasefire and continue brazenly their nefarious modus operandi unabated for which there will be a time of judgement and punition.

What the cowardly mentality of the LTTE is presently inflicting on all its regional opponents in the North, North East and sometimes sporadically even in the South by way of assassinations falls short of neglect and indifference on the part of the Administration who should view its obligations towards the security of all opposition to the LTTE as mandatory and obligatory as a preview towards eliminating their effectiveness and set in place the wheels of justice which would provide stringent deterrents perhaps even in the form of a re-introduced death penalty with no alternatives for horrendous attrocities which continue!

Western analyst who maintain the importance of dialogue between the LTTE and the UNF as an alternative to hostilities and suggest the granting of an interim administration involving the LTTE who continue their arms build ups, child conscription and a strong armed guerilla mentality which intimidates the weak and helpless seem to have no considerations towards the principle involved where the granting of freedom to ruthless killers have had disatrous results in the past and these same analysts are unsure whether or not the LTTE in fact represent the majority of Tamils who in reality want little or no part of the LTTE which now also entails the point of view of their Indian cousins in Tamil Nadu delicate as the balance between extensions of concessions and their greater implications towards National Security seems!

It might not be wishful thinking that to project towards the eventual apprehension and elimination of Velupillai Pirapaharan through the collective co-operation of all parties including the more sensible rank and file of the LTTE could possibly be the best alternativetowards a lasting peace far fetched though some would see it as being yet plausible considering what all communities including the Tamils now stand to lose should an unforeseen breakdown occur where the megalomaniac motivations of a self centred criminal in hiding would unleash their meaningless objectives which would serve absolutely no one or purpose in direct violation of Sri Lankan Constitutional Accords and its Criminal Justice System!!
