Time Inevitably Passes As It Appears To Be Running Out On Both Sides Of The Peace Process.

The renowned Abraham Lincoln once said " You can fool some of the people all the time, all the people some of the time but you cannot fool all the people all the time" and so the UNF scenario of 'pulling wool' over the eyes of the gullible and undiscerning continues.

Undoubtely Premier Wickremasinghe literally has'the tigers by the tail' and afraid to let go, unsure of whom and where they'll bite next and is posturing on the issues of LTTE demands all the while disdainfully conscious that the will of the Sinhala Nation, the High Buddhist Clergy and the needs of the Nation relative to a returning to normalcy within acceptable norms takes priority over speculations and gallery comments of the likes of the ignominious Prabhakaran deputy, Thamil Chelvam who rather insidiously suggests that Mr.Wickremasinghe does not have the required Constitutional Power to positively assert the success of the Peace Process calling for Presidential support.

Yet Never was a truism more appropriate as the obvious is being displayed from the ridiculous to the sublime where LTTE frustrations continue to augment and Prime Ministerial quandries in all probability increase and maintaining the UNF's status quo with respect to governance weakens and the President takes a back seat in all wisdom while musing on the futility of the Prime Ministers thrashing around clutching at straws in the manner of a drowning man knowing fully well that Thamil Chelvam's conclusions have more than a semblance of truth to them.

Recent statements from the Prime Minister's Office suggests an ambiguous willingness on the part of the Government to de-proscribe the LTTE within Sri Lanka on demand by Prabhakaran,Thamil Chelvam and Anton Balasingham but seem to camouflage its cross reference to obligations towards International banning and de-proscription of the LTTE around the World and India having graciously taken on the role of spearheading it in recent times through the decision to continue the ban on the LTTE exposes the Sri Lankan Government's naiveté through contradictory belief that it is perfectly normal to lift the ban in Sri Lanka to aid a puny Peace Process yet accept world opinion to maintain proscription at a global level and if this isn't 'pulling the wool over the eyes of the undiscerning' it must be mass confusion within their rank and file.

All prevarications on the issue of continuing on the Path to Peace where the LTTE are now laying increased pre-conditions and The Administration suddenly treading lighter than ever in an almost guilt laden and apprehensive manner? could be determined as a realization that the Peace Process indeed is fatally flawed and that re-considerations should be made in order to appease the will of the Sinhala Nation rather than that of the LTTE who continue to falsely project themselves as champions of the Tamil Community amid making a mocker of all forms of the Democratic Process.

If the apprehensions on the part of the Government have anything to do with LTTE fortifications in areas of military supplementation and and a gnawing fear of "What If The LTTE Resort To Force Once More?" then it has only itself to blame, having mixed up its priorities and further jeopardized the rights of the Sinhala Nations and the fullest implication of having deceived the Nation, themselves and the LTTE, bares itself in absolute visibility in making promises to all parties that they would deliver peace without compromises yet the sad reality is that it may be a long time coming if ever and that there are many compromises involved! particularly the Sovereignty and Territorial Integrity of the Nation and the security of its citizens albeit the possibility of the LTTE effecting their ultimate total demise if they ever re-commenced atrocities which then would be doing the Nation a big favour.

And as surely as the hourglass empties, time seems to be running out on the UNF Government where it is caught between the Devil (s) and the Blue Sea of Presidency at the helm of the Sinhala Nation which will not be fooled into acknowledging any credibility associated with the Peace Process the way it is outlined at present, time which is seemingly running out on the LTTE too! as the transparencies of the Norway brokered Peace Process becomes more apparent.
