The Peace Process And Ceasefire Could Have far reaching Consequences But Could Be Rescinded By Presidential Authority In The Best Interests Of The Nation.

In circumventing Presidential Authority and forging ahead with the Peace Process and all the recent unilateral decision making the Wickremasinghe Administration has displayed an arrogance and a lack of insight into the simplest definitions of protocol and diplomacy if it hasn't also irked Presidential wrath which could easily bounce back on the UNF should the President invoke her powers and reject all aspirations by the Administration to continue in the direction it has chosen.

The concerns expressed by the President at not being consulted and assimilated into the UNF decision making which is her Constitutional Entitlement are very justifiable and seen in poor light by the more discerning of the Nation's Populace as she has always been conciliatory towards Ranil Wickremasinghe's push ahead in the Norway backed Peace initiative regardless of the rather avid lampooning by many of his opponents some of whom represent her own caucases and seems ungainly and ungracious on the part of the Prime Minister and a poor show of decorum.

The President through the powers vested in her by the Founding Fathers (Father !! in lighter vein remembering JRJ) of the New Constitution could easily ursurp all the aspirations of the Present Regime towards the Peace Process and the Cease Fire based on the rather voluminous collective opinions expressed against its policies related to the Peace Process and Ceasefire by many of the Highest Buddhist Clergy and other Prominent Leaders and the gaining momentum of Sri Lankan Citizens who turned out in vast numbers at the recent JVP gathering to voice opinions on this very issue based on the conceptual gliches and loopholes contained in them which could expose many vulnerabilities and threaten the very existence of the Sinhala Nation, its Citizens and even its Sovereignity.

A renowned scholar and analyst Dr.Gunadasa Amarasekera together with many elite educated and intellectually astute personalities have rather bluntly pointed out the realities of the Sinhala Race and the Sinhala Nation as a whole being wiped out in time should the present trend of the UNF government continues its adulation of Norway and the LTTE as it appears to be tantamount to handing the Nation on a platter to the LTTE and being totally obtuse about justifying their actions.

Deservedly the ambits of the UNF towards how they restore order even at a heavy price to the Nation through dealing with a dangerously vicious enemy, if it ends up being rescinded by the President albeit a few 'pats on the back' from some Foreign Governments, may have no place to go as the Wickremasinghe Administration bungles on. It may have little or nothing to do with appeasing the President whose ultimate authority if excercised on behalf of a concerned Nation could very well prove to be the saving grace and wisdom which would ensure the continuity of the Sinhala Nation and the Sovereignity of Sri Lanka.

It has become more than obvious that the present tenets and conditions of the Peace Process and the Ceasefire are far too lopsided and weigh far too heavily in favour of the LTTE and should either be brought back to the drawing board re-drafted and revised to include greater National Security, The De-Commissioning of Weapons little or no Adminstrative Concessions or Powers of Devolution to be given to any entity of doubtful credentials other than the Tamil Community irrespective of whether or not they are represented by the LTTE which is not factual, or any platforms which could eventually pave the way for LTTE secession.

The present Peace Process and the so called Ceasefire by way of sheer ambiguity even if it has lasted thus far, gives no assurances to the Nation as being credible in the long run, is unacceptable in the eyes of many and it would most likely be a Presidential Decree which could eventually rescue the Nation from its oppressors and it should be emphasized that the State of The Nation and its well being is hinged to Presidential Power rather than the meanderings of a group of misguided individuals in a lesser Administrative Capacity regardless of their naive arrogance.
