The Merits Of Excluding Norway from Further Participation In The Peace Talks!

Norway probably the greatest contributor towards the LTTE's convictions that they have a right to exist as a terrorr group if their bravado is anything to go by, has issued a warning to Sovereign Sri Lanka about violence which could shatter a fragile ceasefire as reported by Reuters forgetting that it is the LTTE who are committing the violence and are the chief culprits responsible for violations of the Peace Accord and Ceasefire.Their rhetoric seems somewhat obtuse when they referer to the possibilities of a return to Civil War which is no civil war but an internal armed terrorist insurrection which has taken a heavy toll and not only illegal but with little justification perpetrated by a miniscule minority of self proclaimed Tamil protectors over the majority Sinhalese and the other allied minority inhabitants of Sri lanka.

It has to be remembered that when Norway officially mediated in the Peace talks they overstepped their invitation to mediate and became bi- partisanly involved in favouring the LTTE as the records prove and became collaborators towards many LTTE actions which were questionable, covered up and thought provoking as to whose side they were really on. It seems mind boggling that the Government of Sri Lanka seems to have so much faith in Norway's capabilities towards bringing about a lasting peace in the face of their bad track record where the Sri Lankan Government should be in no need of desperate actions or deliberations about Norway which to all intents and purposes should probably be discarded and replaced by a more viable option which at this stage appears to be India who has indicated interest in role playing towards peace according to reliable reports!

Logically the ineptitude of Norway's accomplishments towards Peace during the Ranil Wickremesinghe Administration's tenure speaks for itself as the Peace Talks went into an impasse based on the inefficiencies of that administration's ability to contain LTTE demands which were ill favourable to Sri Lanka and to think in terms of their capabilities as being fruitlessly speculative and futile would not be far removed from the truth. As testimony to this, the more discerning JVP within the UPFA Government have always been outspoken about the futility of Norway's presence and it would seem quite appropriate to deduce that the Reuter's report which says quote " Norwegian Deputy Foreign Minister Vidar Helgesen's peacemaking has been stymied by unrest and recriminations between the Sri Lankan Government and rebel Tamil Tigers, travels to Colombo on Sunday without any ambition of restarting talks quickly" end quote, hits the nail on the head about the credibilities towards Norway's further participation in the Peace Process.

On the other hand , had Norway been addressing the LTTE directly about what they would stand to lose and the dangers which imperil their status and right to continue with their latest stand of arrogance especially perpetreated verbally by LTTE Political spokesperson SP Thamilselvam and the cautions to watch their moves and tone of voice diligently, the atmosphere of acceptance of Norway's further involvement in the Peace Process by the people of Sri Lanka would have incorporated some degree of resignation towards their intentions which unfortunately appears to have a ring of insincerity and bias through Norways choice to issue warnings to the Government of Sri Lanka rather than the LTTE.

It could be easily construed as a suggestion of impure reasoning on the part of Norway where the terror entity for the sake of assumed peace needs to be tolerated and permitted to continue their mendacious means towards their cause and the Sri Lankan authoritie maintain restraint in the face of grave provocation which will eventually be a matter for the powers that be both regionally and globally to decide in the best interests of the Sri Lankan Status quo where Norway would deserve to be as much outlawed as the LTTE! for their lack of respect toward the sovereignity and democratic rights of Sri Lanka!

Perhaps it is Norway that is playing with fire and fanning it towards any confrontation between the Security Establishment of Sri Lanka and the LTTE, whether inadvertently or not, where the latter seems presently ill equiped to sustain any justification of armed aggression in their favour according to intelligence reports. At this stage of Sri Lanka's ongoing tranquility which has lasted well over two fruitful years it seems not only foolish but ill advised to palaver to any harbingers of aggression and it would probably be in the best interests towards Sri Lanka's posterity that Norway is excluded from further participation in the Peace Process unless they show capability of disarming the LTTE and converting them into ordinary citizens of Sri Lanka which at present seems as obtuse a thought as their capability to bring about a lasting peace without compromise!!
