Letter to Editor in reply to Mr.Dave Kroon on Sri Lanka

Mr. Glorious Sunny, The Seeing Lankan Eye of Canada to the Editor, Lankaweb

A rather distasteful letter by Dave Kroon was recently published on Sri Lanka which not only denigrates the country and its people as a whole but also displays a vengeful nerve by an expatriate who should re-think his ideas and be denied entry if he ever intended to visit again.

He should be made aware of the fact that mans inhumanity to man did not originate in Sri Lanka but goes back to the inception of time. As to its intensity, on a scale of ten, Sri Lanka is probably at the bottom!!

If he thinks that his present country of residence is heaven, he should re-consider his idealogies on Sri Lanka, as Japan was a nation of cuthroats and ruthless killers during the Great Wars and their integrity together with all the other mentionable entities committing attrocities at the time was highly questionable.

If he looks deeper into the mirror of his preferred country he is likely to comprehend the subterfuge,sado-masochism, corruption and back stabbing that goes on at a much higher and organized level than his native Sri Lanka.

It is sad to see a former son of Lanka with such outpourings of revulsion and criticism when there are literally millions of PROUD LANKANS whose appraisal of Sri Lanka is of a meritorious nature and appreciate it as being one of the most beautiful places on God's Earth, albeit the present situation in the country attributed to terrorism.

His analogies villyfying the country and denigrating its people are a shameful example of ingratitude to the land which probably gave him literacy and the skills he carried with him to Japan and there are many others of his calibre, sad to say!!.

So, in the name dignity and pride with no prejudice Mr. Kroon should be advised that his comments are best kept to himself and not appreciated by too many Lankans.
