Dear Editor,
Mr. A.A.M. Nizam's article of "Politicos with tiger spots" carried in the Lankaweb of July 31, 2001 was a fantastic review with regards to the Opposition's attitude and behaviour towards the LTTE's issue.
It is true that the UNP has been only concerned with their goal for power rather than, solving the issue of terrorism as patriotic Sri Lankans.
Furthermore the issue of Dr. Jayalath Jayawardena's involment is so very true. As Canadians we have seen what he has been upto on his visits here, and how he rub shoulders with the terrorist campaigners here (enemies) when it is the LTTE's who have been killing people and causing so much destruction. The destruction caused is not the government's loss but a loss for the whole of Sri Lanka.
People like Jayalath Jayawardena should be brought to books on their activities for betraying their country and the confidence of the people of Sri Lanka.
It is time all Sri Lankans all over the world joined hands in rebuking terrorist activities and those who support terrorism. Otherwise this menance can never be eradicated.
