A word of noteworthy praise to Mr.Siri Hewavitharne and family on their
recent endorsement of Major Gen.Janaka Perera in response to the very
personal manner in which Leo Tissera has criticized him.
The merits of the appointment as JOC which were also endorsed by SPUR was based on fact and not conjecture such as that of Mr.Tissera who lives in Victoria and has now picked up the vocation of arm chair critic and looks back in retrospect at a failed career, frustration and should take an object lesson from the dignity and decorum shown by Major Perera in how he faces his adversaries.
Amazingly, Mr. Tissera has made it blatantly obvious that his outbursts were based on personal frustrations and has the audacity to cross reference individuals whom he terms as 'High Ups' in the Forces, personally known to him, who were against Major Gen. Perera and that his family too was affected by Major Gen. Perera and this coming from a former contemporary is contemptible and rather shameful.
There is almost a sense of envy and disdain in Mr. Tissera's choice of words and it seems as though the Polish, Discipline and Class together with a deep rooted sense of Patriotism displayed by Major Gen. Perera is a cause for his chagrin but surely there must be an 'Ocean' of others who voice the same sentiments as Mr.Hewavitharne and Family whose support should help restore the dignity that certain disgruntled individuals are trying to deny Major Gen Perera.
