As per a newspaper article today, lankans , it seems are angry that india is not helping .sri lanka wants indian navy and airforce help to evacuate 40000 lankan army soldiers from jafna. I somehow do not understand why a soldier should be evacuated . a soldier should be patriotic enough to fight for his nation until death . what are the 40000 lankan armymen doing in jafna? can't they fight ? they expect indian navy and airforce to evacuate them , and then indian army to go in and die for Sri Lanka ?! ever heard of a more ridiculous idea ?!

Indians were knaive enough under the leadership of rajiv gandhi , to get slaughtered in the 80's. please , not again. pakistan divided into two in 1971, lanka can split too, if they are so hopeless , cowardly , and pathetic , as to be unable to fight with a strength of 40000 in jafna alone. when IPKF was about to finish off LTTE , the then lankan prez. premadasa sent truckloads of weapons to ltte and bailed them out. now sri lanka is paying for that act which demolished indian efforts. indian airforce and navy can well supply then all the food and medicines they need, and evacuate civilians , as a good neighbour and fellow saarc. however this is but lankans have to show some courage and a brave face like they have all these years. india has pak to deal with and their terrorists to handle . israel has palestinians to tackle. they don't need other excuses to fight and die. ltte is a problem of srilanka, by sri lanka, and for sri lanka .

you have to solve your own problems. india doesn't run to US for help in blasting bodos in nagaland or pakis/taliban in kashmir . the problem of refugees can well be tackled by indian navy patrolling the palk straits. why should india allow any lankans , even if they be tamils , on indian soil ? after all they are foreigners. indian fishermen who inadvertantly strayed into lankan waters last week were butchered by sri lankan navy. jaffna refugees don't deserve food and shelter in india. indians are civilized enough not to butcher people. help to lankan govt ? no way ! the present govt. is undoubtedly wiser with experience and will desist from getting a few hundred indians slaughtered once again.
