Dear Sir 

Today, as we face a future hopefully without terrorism  , we face three major obstacles

1)      Outright condemnation  from US, UK and Europe

2)     .The existence of a vociferous LTTE support group of tamils abroad

3)      The heavy financial burden of maintaining the forces and reconstruction

What do we need:

Other than the obvious can I say that as a people the Sinhalese are not the most united or strong minded.

Therefore if we hope to counter the very  powerful forces  (US , UK,  Tamil Diaspora) which very well may destroy any chance the Sinhalese have for  Peace/prosperity, (blocking IMF funds, UN  resolutions )-  I venture to suggest that  our national mind set should  change. 

 “ Peace in strength and unity”

1)      Enhanced spirituality  ( bless the country- pray  for peace and prosperity)

2)      Strength of mind – historically (in my opinion) the Sinhalese have always come out as a weak people,   always ready for a hand out.  Our pride in ourselves must be instilled. (Not mindless nationality) . Our colonial mentality must be overcome to be replaced with a pride in who we are and what we can become.  ( We can learn from the Israelis in this regard)

 The Gods so far appear to favour us – Let’s try to keep it that way.
