The Odd Group -Tamil Diaspora

From the recent events and from the media, what we can surmise without any kind of doubt is that the group highly distressed by the demise of the LTTE is the group brandishing themselves as Tamil diaspora (There are many other ethnic group live in many Western countries but any hardly care to call themselves diaspora or any body else call them diaspora. The word probably originated related to expatriate Jews.)

There cannot be much hair splitting as to why they are so agitated about the eradication of the LTTE terrorism from the Sri Lankan soil. But their most peculiar behaviour was revealed when they deliberately denied the killing of their leader P’karan. When the whole world knew and even they themselves in their hearts of hearts knew the truth, they repeatedly refused to accept this fact to this day.

There must be a very good reason for this. What most of the analysts of this episode failed to understand or infer – except perhaps for one or two – is that the LTTE terrorism is an industry, an industry which involved money, big time. Everybody involved in the LTTE very highly financially compensated except for the poor foot soldiers who were forced to carry the cyanide phial.

The LTTE representatives among the diaspora , generate fear among the Tamil expatriates. They exhort money by various devious means. These LTTE agents operating more like Hitler’s SAS brigade were constantly spying on the expatriate Tamil community. Nothing happens in the community without them knowing.

The most pertinent factor in this whole saga is that these agents completely financially depend on the fund collected. They get some kind of financial benefit out of their labour, which is illegal and risky. The rumour is that substantial number of these agents depends heavily on these collections to continue their luxurious living and even to service their mortgages.

Of curse they want to continue the status quo. They will go to any length to revive this situation, with P’karan living or dead. On account of these circumstances it is not surprising that LTTE agents would create a make believe quasi world of happy LTTE utopia, no matter what the rest of the world thinks. Their fervent hope now is to get the Tamil expatriates living in Western countries – a fair no of them with a lop sided view of what is happening in the world – to believe that nothing has changed.

Quite right…the LTTE is an industry! It is organized like an MLM business (MultiLevelMarketing) like Amway, and what we hear is that every person who pays in gets a cut if he/she brings in more into the works. The scheme works so that for every 10 persons, say, that a member brings in, they pay a fee, and if each of those people bring ten others then they get paid. The commissions work both horizontally and vertically. Its a fair amount of money as a sideline, and for some maybe the main source of income! It is the same old Ponzi-type racket and here too, sooner or later the people at the top make off with the big bucks and those at the bottom are left without much, but even the few bucks they make must be worthwhile in the case of new immigrants and such to keep them recruiting more and more people into the scheme. All this money is outside the normal tax system, so it is pure pocket money. Transferring the money outside Canada or Australia to Sri Lanka is through a Hawala system…so NO RECORDS either! It is a global undeground financial network, and probably worked well up until the financial meltdown which may have affected those in the top rungs of the scheme including “You know who” , Mr. P. himself.
