Dear Liberal and NDP Parliamentarians:

In case you missed reading The Ottawa Citizen of Saturday, September 5, 2009,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  news item on page A6, bylined by Fraidoun Elham reporting from Kunduz, Afghanistan, here it is:

ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-NATO girds for Afghan backlash after U.S. air strike kills dozens of civilians

A U.S warplane summoned by German troops fired on hijacked fuel trucks in Afghanistan early Friday, killing as many as 90 people in an incident that could trigger a backlash against NATO.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚

Let me roll back the days to the famous Wednesday, February 4, when all of you joined the chorus line of NDP leader Jack Layton who called for an emergency meeting ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ on Sri Lanka to discuss the deaths of the killing fields which you all refused to acknowledge were created by the now defunct Tamil Tiger terrorists in the North of Sri Lanka, and turned the chamber of the House of Commons into a Gong Show of Tamil Tiger Blarney Theatre, singing to please the ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ audience of Tamils in the gallery to pick up their votes, and your voices sounded revolted against the Sri Lankan Government.

Now that you all have trained your voices to sing Humans Rights War Arias, andƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ having watched the Act I of the Gong Show, I hope you all are honest enough to call ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ for an Emergency Debate on Afghanistan soon to continue with Act II of your Goody-two-shoes repulsion.

LetƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s hear your voices, even though some voices sang out of tune like that of Jim Karygiannis who sang these words out of key:

ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-When is the government going to rise and say that if Sri Lanka does not change its way, it is going to be kicked out of the Commonwealth?ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚

And, of course, the voices of Derek Lee, Judy Sgro, Robert Oliphant, Jim Karygiannis and Albina Guarnieri sang the word ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-GenocideƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ in a five-part Liberal barbershop harmony even though the untrainedƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  squeaky voice of Albina was quite recognizable and jarring.

Jack Layton, pick up your baton, and lead the Chorus Line, and show your mastery of how you would handle the various musical styles to control the unethical, undisciplined,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ dishonest, scholarly and passionate bullyingƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  like what you all did with the puny island Sri Lanka.

But please donƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t tell me/us, that you all couldnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t challenge the US for their killings of innocent Afghans because the US is too nuclear-powerful to make a mockery of them as they might come and break Jack LaytonƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s baton and stuff cotton wool in the mouths of the Liberal and NDP members of the Gong Show Chorus line to shut you all up saying, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-ItƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s none of your business, so be quiet!ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚

But, notwithstanding, I will be waiting; and we all will be waiting to hear your singing voices to bash the American Government the way you all did with the Sri Lankan governmentƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  with over exaggerated lies during the Emergency debate on Sri Lanka on February 4th.

Sincerely,

Asoka Weerasinghe
