ASIA MUST QUIT CORRUPT UNO FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Barack Obama during his presidential election campaign expressed his opinion to shut down the UNO and replace it with NATO with the wider international participation. Obama was not happy with the UNO of its corrupt behaviour of the people in influensive positions. Obama realised that the use by date of the UNO is very close. UNO was formed after the Second World War when the USSR and the USA were the super powers. Today the world has taken a totally different outlook with USSR becoming non super power, balkanising Yugoslavia, India and China emerging as a more and more powerful nations. Furthermore British Commonwealth becoming a bankrupt organisation but still trying hard to control other nations with their colonial attitude in mind.

Superiority complex of the west has not changed. Still the western countries are bullying smaller nations in Asia. However MalaysiaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s former Prime Minister did not take any nonsense from the western countries and under his government Malaysia became a developed nation. When Mahathir formed ASEAN, Australia and New Zealand were not welcomed. Mahathir vehemently rejected their applications. However as the time went by and with hard lobbying New Zealand was accepted and sometime later Australia was also made a member with much reluctance. The reason for Mahathir to object these two countries was they are of western origin domiciled in Asia Pacific region whose religions, customs and culture different to that of Asia. To-day they maintain a low profile membership with ASEAN. Somehow or other USA also crept in as an independent observers with a hidden agenda of superiority complex and big brother attitude.

UNO is notorious with corrupt ambassadors. Where there are internal issues the corrupt ambassadors did not fail to act discriminately. As a clear example Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s war against the terrorism, the west and the corrupt UNO sided with the Terrorists accusing the democratically elected government of numerous accusations and those accusations found to be nonexistent. To name and shame:

Navaneetham Pillai.

South African Tamil Navaneetham Pillai did a tony Blair copying every word of the Tamil Net Terrorist publication to tarnish the image of Sri Lanka. That was the leaked report to the UNO by Navaneetham Pillai in favour of the Terrorist group LTTE. After Sri Lanka crushed the terrorism in Sri Lanka, Pillai made numerous attempts to convince the UNSC of war crimes and failed. At present Pillai is conniving with Robert Blake to convince USA congress to act against Sri Lanka on war crimes. Pillai still remains an infuensive ambassador with the UNO.

Radhika Kumarasamy.

UNO Ambassador Radhika Kumarasamy being a Sri Lankan Tamil has been making controversial statement in favour of Tamil Tiger Terrorists holding positions with conflict of interests. Radhika was reprimanded and removed from the position she held with the UNO but she remains an influensive ambassador.

HR chief Ms. Arbour.

Ms. Arbour as the HR ambassador with the UNO was found guilty of misconduct and was reprimanded for the biased against Sri Lanka Government. Arbour made comments in favour of Terrorists group LTTE. She presented the UNO with hearsay and false evidence in favour of Tamil Tiger Terrorists.

Former General Secretary Coffee Annan

Coffee Annan took a very strong stand with world opinion against Iraq war with Negroponte on the other side of the camp. Negroponte was with George Bush and Tony Blair splitting their hair to convince the world of imaginary and false WMDs possession by Iraq. Richard Butler an Australian who was the Chief Inspector with the UNO vehemently argued that Iraq did not possess WMDs. Australian Government silenced Richard Butler by appointing him as Govenor General of Tasmania. That was the last we heard from Richard Butler.

Negroponte blackmailed Coffee Annan with Tojo AnnanƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s lucrative contract. Annan surrendered. That was the last we heard from Annan about Iraqi war.

R2P Chief Gareth Ewans.

Gareth Ewans took a handsome retirement package from Australian politics to take a lucrative posting with the UNO as R2P Chief and under him are some 140 parasite agents all over the third world where they can operate as paedophiles mostly Australians in Asia in anti host country campaign supporting separatism and terrorism. Whilst Ewans was the foreign affairs Minister, his clandestine love affair with the leader of Democratic Party Sheryl Kernot did destroy KernotƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s political carrier. Gareth admitted in public of his infidelity and he has no moral grounds to hold a position in public office and he is thriving in the UNO with a double wage. Gareth submitted a report to the UNO on the human rights violation by Sri Lanka purely based on the false and hearsay evidence by the Tamil Terrorist propaganda.

Allan Rock

Canadian failed politician Allan Rock made a false and controversial report to the UNO in favour of Terrorists LTTE and anti Sri Lanka government purely based on the hearsay evidence. Allan Rock is a close associate of Tamil Tiger Terrorist sympathisers in Canada. Allan Rock remains an influensive ambassador with the UNO and is on double wage.

UNESCO Chief Matsura.

Matsura made a controversial statement supporting the Terrorists LTTE that created uproar with the Sri Lankans all over the world calling for an apology and to withdraw his false statement. To-date Matsura has not responded to the call. Matsura remains an influensive ambassador with UNESCO.

Former President ChandrikƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s appointment to the UNESCO

Chandrika Kumaranatunge was appointed as the south AsiaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s director General of the UNESCO. Chandrika is a notorious woman who has a world record on corruption in Sri Lanka. The woman is convicted of corruption by the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka with a fine of Rs. 30 million. So does the woman qualify for a UNO posting with a bogus degree from SorbonneƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s?

UNO and Ung Sung Sui

MyanmarƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s freedom fighter Ung Sung Sui under house arrest for over a decade. UNO has no teeth to free Sui.

UNSC and Israel, UNSC and Iraq War, UNO and Iran, UNO and North Korea. The list can go on and on.

The world with the UNO was against the Iraq invasion. But USA with UK went ahead with the Iraq invasion.

When George Bush became the President of the USA, the writer said if you give a knife to a monkey, the monkey will cut himself and cut all others. So George and Tony are gone leaving behind the world economy in absolute shamble. That is the consequences the world is suffering to-day as a result of the Iraqi war. If USA and UK do whatever they want without the UNO, what is the purpose of having an International Authority by the name of UNO?

If Negroponte can blackmail UNO Chief, might as well call Negroponte one man show to rule the world disbanding the UNO.

UNO has passed its use by date. Its ambassadors had a good use of it. They are drawing a handsome pension from their own countries while they draw a very heavy weighing salary package from the UNO with unlimited perks. They are rejects from their own countries. Almost all its ambassadors are corrupt. There are no police checks or character reference to join the UNO. If it had been there half of its ambassadors wonƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t be there today. There is no code of ethics or disciplinary action against its ambassadors.

USA and the west had its good use of the UNO since World War 11. Now it is becoming too tired and the world does not take the UNO too serious. It is high time the world think of an alternative to the UNO. Perhaps ObamaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s proposal to replace UNO with NATO with wider International participation could be the solution to the problem. In that scenario that too would be a west dominated organisation with the second class treatment to the ASIA. In order to be independent of western bullying ASIA must break away from the UNO and form a stronger ASIAN UNION. Inclusion of Australia and New Zealand is a thing that must be considered very carefully.

I well remember the difficulties Sri Lanka had in first gaining membership of the UN, the frustration when time after time, the application was turned down and then the great rejoicing when at last the country was admitted as a member. And, now I see a call for Sri Lanka to leave the world body! To me, this does not make sense.

Sri Lanka can legitimately complain that some UN officials have not always been fair with their comments on the conduct of the SL government in relation to the war with the LTTE and the matter of human rights in the island. And Sri Lanka can feel aggrieved, when looking at the situation in other countries in respect of which the UN appears not to have been similarly concerned, that different standards are being applied in her case. But all this does not warrant the country seeking to leave the UN. On the contrary, there is a multitude of reasons for the country remaining a member of the world body. We cannot overlook the great work that the UN does through its many agencies nor the many benefits the country derives from it, and the UN’s unique position to provide assistance and aid in a ‘neutral’ sort of way.

The UN is not a perfect institution; no human institution will ever be. But despite its imperfections, it remains a force for good. By its very nature, it has a difficult role to play, as it strives to accommodate a variety of political views, national interests and regional attitudes. That is a huge challenge.

The writer asserts that “Barack Obama during his presidential election campaign expressed his opinion to shut down the UNO and replace it with NATO with the wider international participation”. If he did indeed say this, it was not very clever. NATO is a military organization, a creature of the Cold War, designed by the West to counter a perceived military threat from the Soviet Union. Even an enlarged NATO can never be a substitute for the UN. Their objectives are wholly different. And NATO by its very nature cannot but be a club with limited membership.

The writer of the article has seen fit to criticise the conduct of a whole lot of eminent persons, one of whom, at least (Gareth Evans) is in fact not a UN official. Unfortunately, the writer has also seen fit to bring in extraneous factors that detract from objective comment. I believe, for instance, that the ethnicity of Navanethem Pillay or Radhika Coomaraswamy is irrelevant. The fact that they are ethnic Tamils does not of itself render them incapable of objective thinking. And what relevance has Gareth Evans’ marital infidelity to the case the writer is arguing?

It is also a pity that the writer has not taken the trouble to get right, the names of the persons he is writing about. He has got it wrong with the names of Radhika Coomaraswamy, Navanethem Pillay, Gareth Evans, Aung San Suu Kyi – and worst of all, Kofi Annan (referred to in the article as ‘Coffee Annam’).

We can feel rightly aggrieved about some things. But, let’s remain objective and keep things in perspective – not give in to hasty over-reaction.
