Oh, that mass murderer Prabakaran was a son of a Tamil expatriate from Malaysia, so was the problem. I hope they would not try to carve a Tamil Ealam in Scarborough in Toronto, and if they do, it'll serve Canada for its foolishness! Anyway, the eelam Tamils are welcome to do so in Scarborough!

Sri Lankan Tamils in the Northern and Eastern provinces are the descendants of South Indian labor brought for the cultivation of Tobacco initially by the Portuguese and then by the Dutch. One historian says 'there were more foreigners in Jaffna than natives' during these times. The natives he was referring to are the Sinhalese who inhabited Jaffna at that time. It is this indented labor who brought the technology of deep well irrigation and the concept of Aandi Lindas- wells, of which there are over 80,000 to be found all over the Jaffna peninsula. It is also to retain this population permanently that the Dutch introduced the Thesavalamai Law which is of South Indian origin.

The Sri Lankan Tamils of the Northern and Eastern provinces only preceded their cousins later brought to tend the tea gardens of Central Sri Lanka. They speak the same language without even a hint of an accent and follow the same customs!

One may dig into the bosom of mother Lanka in the Northern and Eastern Provinces and yet will not find any historical evidence of significant Tamil habitation or anything remotely enough to rival the works of Sinhala Kings. Their famous Nallur Kovil was constructed by the Sapumal Kumaraya - later crowned Buvenaka Bahu VI.

Indian Tamils came as invaders at various times in the long recorded history of Sri Lanka. A few remained and assimilated and many returned to where they came from.

It is a crime that our politicians are even considering devolving power under the 13th Amendment to these provinces now sparsely populated. This is the very heart of Sinhala civilization for thousands of years which have been denuded and depopulated of Sinhalese during colonial times. There is no room in over crowded Sri Lanka to dole out land to mono ethnic enclaves.

Honi soit qui mal y pense!

I really enjoyed reading such a well written and a factually perfect article. I hope the Tamil diaspora will have the decency to read this full article, and realise what a folly they have committed for last thirty years. The so called great Tamil kings and their civilisation did not leave IOTA of evidence for its exisitance. The whole Tamil history was written since 1960s. All I hope is that major new agencies will pick up and reprint this most accurate and well researched letter...But knowing that many western countries are hell bent on distrupting the progress of Asian nations, I doubt it will happen.
Sri Lanka has produced the most well deciplined and well trained army in the whole world. They may not have the latest gadgets, but their bravery and good behaviour make all Sri Lankans very proud. Even then, Tamil diaspora and its paid agents are now accusing them of a rape charge..as usual without evidence. This innuendo will fizzle out, like that infamous bogus C4 video. How ever much Tamil diapora and it's sysmpathisers cry out, LTTE is now dead...but we must never forget about LTTE money making machine and paid lobbyists in USA and UK. The international arms of LTTE octopus is still active in flesh trade, arms smuggling, drug trade and money laundering. They still have legitimate business fronts. The money generated from these activities will be used to damage Sri Lankan economy. All Sri Lankans, regardless of our back groud should be ever vigilent.
