Bulgarian President meets President Rajapaksa

Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov met his Sri Lankan counterpart President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Sunday 1st of November in Colombo. He arrived on a two day state visit to Sri Lanka on Saturday evening after having been to South Korea and Australia.

The two leaders discussed several issues related to the bilateral ties between the two countries. The Bulgarian President is accompanied with his wife Zorka Parvanov, several Ministers including the Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Traycho Traykov and Chairperson of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tsvetan Simeonov and Directors of executive agencies in Bulgaria. They had business meetings on business opportunities and investments in Bulgaria and Sri Lanka and signed many cooperation agreements.

Bulgarian delegation led by President Parvanov traveled over thirty thousand kilometers to pay official visits to South Korea, Australia and finally Sri Lanka. They received invitations from South Korea President Lee Myung-Bak, AustraliaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s Governor-General Her Excellency Ms Quentin Bryce and Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

At PresidentƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s House today, President Rajapaksa introduced First Lady Mrs Shiranthi Rajapaksa and his son Namal Rajapaksa to the Bulgarian President.
