My dear Nick,

You made a speech at the Australian Federal Parliament that the Tamil population in the North of Sri Lanka continue to suffer human rights abuses and are being denied basic rights and freedom.

Hon. Member of the federal parliament has agreed that it has been the situation in the past 30 years when he says ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-continue to sufferƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚. You must be tolerance enough to give some breathing space to Sri Lanka government to bring some changes to that TerroristƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s rule of the North and East of Sri Lanka. Eastern district is already enjoying the benefits of democracy established by the democratically elected government of Sri Lanka whereas it is only six months since annihilation of the terrorist movement in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is almost in the completion of its monumental task of rehabilitation of the 300,000 IDPƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s liberated from the grip of the TerroristƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s used as a human shield.

I have not heard the voice of Nick Champion in my life talking of human rights abuses in the Northern Territory Aborigine people. Sri Lankan people have no qualms with Tamil people in the North, East or South. The whole world knows that there was a war with the Terrorist group LTTE. Having crushed the Terrorism in the country, it will be a miracle to bring any changes overnight. Honourable MP Nick Champion must understand that the Eastern province is now undergoing sweeping changes and development projects with the upliftment of the day to day life.

Hon. Champion may be not aware of the visits made by Banky Moon, British and Indian parliamentarians including UNO senior officers of the IDP camps in the North and expressed the facilities are satisfactory and not as good as three star luxury. Nick Champion also must understand that Sri Lanka is not a rich county like USA who are unable to settle the displaced people after several years of Katrina disaster. It is with pride the writer is anxiously announce that by the end of January 2010 all the 300,000 IDPƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s will be settled down. The rich and mighty USA is unable to settle down its IDPƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s even after several years of the disaster.

At the first glance of your speech one would be convinced that you are being ill informed. As an independent observer without any bias the writer gives his full credit to the Sri Lanka government for its dedication without any discrimination in the rehabilitation programs of the ten thousand odd hard core terrorists including the rehabilitation of the child soldiers. A former child soldier is the Chief Minister in the East. Where are the compliments from the west?

Pro- terrorists propaganda are in the lookout for cheap politicians who are money hungry and after quick fame to make public speeches on Sri Lankan Tamil peopleƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s denial of basic rights and freedom. So far they have failed to identify what rights the Tamil people are deprived of. Those who make loud noise are happen to be corrupt and are in the payroll of the LTTE. An American congressman was bribed with an air ticket and a holiday in Sri Lanka. In return he had to say two good words about the Terrorists. Hillary Clinton said LTTE are good terrorists. Miliband and Couchner said to stop the war against LTTE Terrorists.

In summing up of this open letter to you Nick, without any fear I must say that you have fallen prey to the pro-Terrorists LTTE propaganda.

Peace loving Sri Lanka Diaspora can easily identify the sound of a fart.
