The UNF and it’s secretary making a media statement at a press conference on December 6th., of another party joining the UNF alliance is another political drama enacted to deceive the faithful and loyal UNPers and the general voters of the nation.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ These types of mushroom parties are many in Sri Lanka and we can see them popping up during elections. The importance of a Political party is itƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚´s representative base and the vote bank it can command. We saw in recent months another individual trying to represent the Tamil community, one being from the upcountry Tamil community with great party names like formerly the “Western Peoples Front” and now the “Democratic Peoples Front”, visualized by the anti government media as something like a “political golaith” of a Tamil party, when in reality, any student of political observance and political science in Sri Lanka will be alarmed to know that it is actually a party of a few individuals and family members of the leader.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ This party is praised by the UNP as there prime Tamil peoples representative party in the UNF and the guy leading the party (Mano Ganeshan) has been smart to sell his party label to foreign funding NGOƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚´s that he has now championed even the cause of HR. This guy became an MP because of the UNP voters in Colombo, but talks big as though he commands hundreds of thousands of Tamil and minority votes in the Western Province – Internationally for the Tamil people and the Muslim people who he has no vote base to represent.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ These individuals are political vultures who register a political party, have no command over a membership and have NO vote bank base. Fortunately they cling to the UNP or the SLFP for a name in the election candidates list trading their “label” political parties and get elected by the vote bank of the national party. Even the JVP did this with Chandrika in 2004 and ate into the SLFP vote bank and stole 39 seats. These are political parasites who know that they have no place for their opportunistic selfish politics among our people, be it the Sinhalese, the Tamils or the Muslims. So they wait for opportunities like the present presidential elections to sell their “party label” to trade for seats in the parliament, or get votes from the main recognized parties by joining Alliances or Fronts.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ This time the JVP wants to rob the UNP vote bank by pretending to support the so-called UNF and their representative candidate, General (retired) Sarath Fonseka. The JVP knows, as well as all Sri Lankan voters know,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  that the JVP is becoming a written-off left political force having now only a bit of support through it’s trade unions and a flocking crowd of demonstrators in Colombo of the once popular youth political movement, which has turned out to become a self serving led group of deceptive political militants being financed by foreign anti Sri Lankan forces.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Fortunately HE. Mahinda Rajapaksa did not get carried away by these political opportunists or political vultures. Mahinda is a seasoned practical and realistic politician. He has a vision, a plan and a strategy and has shown results. The people have trust in HE. the President.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The electorate of the Nation will definitely teach these political vultures a fine lesson on the 26th., of Jaunary 2010. Times up that the people have to be vigilant not to get caught to the sweet talks of the Mano Ganesan type and the JVP hood-winkers.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ This nonsense of label party politicsƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  and deceptive political misleading has to stop. Sri Lanka’s vibrant political electorate should know the truth.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It is time for the Media to tell this truth openly.
