ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-PeopleƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s Liberation Army emerges in Eastern Sri Lanka- ReportƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ says the Braking new in The Times of Sri Lanka on-line. I feel that is not the core news they want to spread out as ‘braking new’. What they really want to disseminate is; ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Sinhala vote is divided and therefore Sinhalese themselves are divided.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢

Soon after The Times published this news item many other agencies and media houses started reporting it with their own added flavours the world over. One such paper ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Deccan HeraldƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ had gone even so far as to warn our government. It says; ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-…ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  there is no disputing the truth that Colombo needs to speed up measures to heal the Tamil wounds if it is serious about preventing the re-emergence of separatist militancy. ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-

It is a known fact that there are many groups among the Tamil Diaspora that continue to adhere to LTTE ideals. They want to achieve Eelam by hook or by crook. ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”PeopleƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s Liberation ArmyƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ is a direct benefactor of Tamil Diaspora. A LTTE remnant like Nediavan organizes and directs them from their safe havens in Norway.

Then there is this so-called international community that demanded Sri Lanka government to let the leaders of LTTE have a safe passage to a safe haven. In spite of such pleas, our government had the courage to wipe out all the leaders of LTTE. It is not surprising; that evil community have their own axe to grind with our government. We should not be surprised if they volunteer to prop up these emerging terrorist groups. And this time around they would do so in a much more sophisticated way than before. We should not give them no chance to energise the terrorists.

Then there are these NGOs, INGOs, and Christian Evangelists that helped LTTE until its last hurrah. Many a writers of that cabal voluntarily offered free advice to our President on how to make peace with LTTE nonstop. Each one of them told us about the invincibility of LTTE and the consequences of fighting with it. So much so that woman Thisaranee Gunasekara had prophesied that LTTE would go underground and continue its fight for ever. Though disappointed for the last six months, she must be feeling good with this news.

In spite of their boasting, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”PeopleƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s Liberation ArmyƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ is yet to prove their potency. To date, we have not heard of their action. Hence, if this news is correct, then we should destroy them while they are in a ragtag stage. Ours forces could do it for they are a well tested and battle hardened force.

However, as civilians we should not be complacent by taking such news lightly. We have to be politically active to stop terrorists gather momentum. The target of many Tamils and the Diaspora in particular is Eelam. The only difference is; some like Anton Balasingham wanted to achieve it little now and more later basis while some others like Piripaharan want it in one go. We have to realize; anything other than Eelam falls short of Tamil aspirations.

It is the so-called International Community, NGOs, INGOs and the Christian Evangelists (the dirty lot) continue to say there will be hundreds of Piripaharans to come if we do not implementing the 13th amendment in full. The 13th amendment is a trap to divide our country. It is devised to for the dirty lot to interfere with our internal affairs.

For instant, when land powers are fully devolved there bound to be conflicts among Provincial Councils. The dirty may want to be the arbiters to settle those disputes. Just like the Vikings that got planted during RanilWƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s so-called peace time. In the absence of a powerful executive such arbiter may well be the final authority. Is that their game plan?

  1. Raj Says:

You are absolutely right. One chap in the LTTE diaspora must have rung up the Times on line and declared that they are PLA and start the war again. Of course this online newspaper must have gladly published it. However as you said the intelligence services must be vigilant. Gotabaya will take care of that.
