Fonsymorons are now targeting the Elections Commissioner

Fonsymorons (backers of Sarath Fonseka) getting desperate. Nothing seems to go right for them!

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ They are now convinced that the great challenger they decided to pitch against President Rajapakse suffers from an incurable case of the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”foot in mouthƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ disease. They are convinced that FonsekaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s pillow talk with Frederica Jansz, and its aftermath in particular, has been the final nail on his political coffin. Even the monk from FonsekaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s village temple in Ambalangoda has washed his hands off Fonseka!

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Another major blow came from President RajapakseƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s assets declaration. The PresidentƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s honourable action in declaring the assets, with the promise that he will make an annual declaration in his second term, pulled the rug from under the FonsymoronsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ collective feet. Now their major campaign slogan based on the dirty lie of Rajapakse family ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”corruptionƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ has also backfired.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ As a result of these terminal problems, currently FonsekaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”campaignƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ is simply going through the motions, as has been colourfully put by a displeased UNPer that they are just ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-bandagatta bere gahanavaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚. Fonseka in the meantime is becoming a captive of the JVP, providing the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”garden gnomeƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢, always attired in blood red, some media exposure and further destroying any remaining support for Fonseka.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The frustration and disappointment is nowhere more apparent than on the front page of the Assembly of God-financed The Sunday Leader; after brazenly and shamelessly serving as FonsekaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s mouthpiece, the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”LeaderƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ appears to have made an about-turn following the publication of the scandalous ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”war crimesƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ charges; the front page of the last edition has been reduced to publishing a photograph of a family from a Colombo slum! The suggestion of course, is that poverty in Sri Lanka is a result of the Rajapakse regime.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Now the world will know that there is poverty in Sri Lanka!

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Then there is the irrepressible ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Renaissance ManƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ (more appropriately Rain Man?) throwing in his ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”two cents worthƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢, literally! Now he is targeting the Elections Commissioner (EC), and the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”mediaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ for allowing his office a ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-free rideƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚, and its ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-serious a sins of omissionƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚. Reading his ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”columnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢, one struggles to find as to what he is on about, constantly bringing to mind the line from the movie Renaissance Man ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-How the boy gonna talk, he got drool falling from his mouthƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚?

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Rain ManƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ appears to blame the EC for everything other than the weather. The list includes: EC not resigning the post; the Wickramatunga murder; Sarath Fonseka being hooted at; and not enforcing the law (which is the responsibility of the Attorney General!).

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Poorten then he blames the EC for allowing three months from the nomination date to file-in the assets declaration. His gripe is based on the ludicrous argument that the elected president will have immunity from prosecution, and therefore there will be no consequences.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Our arrogant little ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”PooƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ has failed to appreciate that a) the voting public are likely to not to vote in candidates who do not meet the requirement of an assets declaration, and b) that EC cannot take the blame for the legal immunity that has been provided to the president constitutionally.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The Rain ManƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s baseless attack on the EC and his attempt to blame ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”the national mediaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢, as usual with every activity of this sinister foreign-funded group, have hidden agendas: by making baseless allegations against the EC, they are preparing for the next course of action following the inevitable election victory of President Rajapakse. They WILL accuse of election corruption, just like they did in Iran, following President Ahamadinejad.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The attack on the media is the result of a desperate search for revenge against the mainstream Sri Lankan media organisatoinsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ virtual relegation of the Assembly-Leader group to their deserved Pariah status.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ These are desperate attempts of desperate people; their conspiracies are being ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”trumpedƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ by the clever Sri Lankan leadership and they can only ritually revert to the US provided grab bag of bogus charges of Human Rights violations, cultures of impunity and now, preparing for charges of election fraud. Vested interests prevent the Sunday Leader from seeing that such charges are a ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”broken recordƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢, not supported by their personal experiences.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The Sri Lankan voting public will answer such charges on 26 January 2010.

One Response to “Fonsymorons are now targeting the Elections Commissioner”

  1. aravinda Says:

By 26th January 2010, Mr.Rajapaksa will be blamed for global warming, world wide poverty, high oil prices in world markets, falling US dollar and for all ills in the world. Mr.Fonseka, for godsake Sri Lanka is coming out of a 30 year civil war waged on this nation by the most vicious terrorists world has ever seen, give Mr. Rajapaksa time to fix this country. War ended only 6 months ago. No wonder Prabakaran uttered that Sri Lankans have short memories.
