Who wants a change? or “Vishvasaneeya VINASHAYAK”?

DNF puppet Sarath Fonseka (SF) has named his Montessori level manifesto ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-vishvasaneeya venesakƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ borrowed the word from Obama ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-ChangeƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ for his election campaign. Well, what suits for USA will not suit for Sri Lanka and Sri Lankans do not want a change at this moment. If by a potta chance SF is elected president it aill not be a ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Vishvasneeya Venesak ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…- but a ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Vishvasneeya VinashayakƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Let us examine the some salient changes SF is talking of in his manifesto.

(1) Abolition of Executive Presidency? ThatƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s what he said at the beginning but now he says he will abolish the Executive Presidency but keeping the important ministry namely Defense, Finance, Health, Education and Employment etc. He has forgotten one other important portfolio which is WomenƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s Affairs. Is this the change he wants to make it. President Rajapaksa ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ has been much more democratic albeit SF charges MR as a dictator. MR retained only the Defense and the Finance as against SFƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s five very important ministries which he plans to bring under his command. Under President Rajapaksa, there are separate portfolios for Education , Health and Employment. Will Ranil and Somawansa agree for SFƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s new interpretation of abolition of Executive Presidency? If SFƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s keeps all the important portfolios Ranil will have to perform the peon for SF. But RanilƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  is day dreaming that SF will made him the Executive Prime Mister. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ What are the powers or ministries that will be assigned to Ranil and the other senior UNPers? How is newly joined clown CJ SN Silva going to be accommodated? Do the ordinary people not the COLOMBIANS- (I borrowed this ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ term from Mr. Gomin Dayasiri which I findƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  a very appropriate term to describe those who fail to acknowledge whatever good that has been done by MR to the country including getting rid of the LTTE menace. ) want this change now and is the time appropriate? I doubt and the Choice is yours.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ (2)The most drastic change he is going adopt is to remerge North & East according to the newest MOB (Memorandum of Betrayal) signed by Ranil and TNA leader R Sambandan in support of SFƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s candidature. Mahinda Rajapaksa has categorically refused and rejected TNAƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s demand for remerge N&E. Do the people of Sri Lanka want this change agreed by DNF and SF and reverse back to square one create mayhem to the ordinary Tamils again? It was TNA and LTTE who led the Tamils in the garden path in the past and now SF is leading the Tamils in the garden pathƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  by promising to address TamilƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  grievances and by promising remergeƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  of N&E. IsnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t that tantamount to handing over Eelam on a platter.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ (3) Another change SF expects is to weed out corruption and nepotism. Very good and it has to be started from MR. CLEAN himself but look who is talking. SF is already on the mat for corruption and nepotism. He has been already exposed for his arms deals with the son-in-law by one of his close associates Mr. Upul Ilangamage.

The Army Seva Vanitha Unit under Mrs. Anoma Rajapaksa has become a den of nepotism as it is run byƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Mrs AnomaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s servants, relations and related business people. What do you call -looking after the sister in law, SFƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s servants and their related business partners other than nepotism? If SF could act in this manner while he was the Army Commander, imagine what he will do if he becomes the President? The Colombians who support the SF will have to eat their own words

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ (4) SF is agreeing to release of almost 10,000 hard core LTTE terrorists who are under arrest. Rest can be assured that we are inviting another couple of decades of atrocities and mayhem that will be supported by the Tamil Diaspora and the LTTE apologist politicians of the western block

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ MR has already started many development projects right though out Sri Lanka to develop a sustainable economy to enable us to stand on our own. Is SF going to change or abandon all these development projects and launch his own plans? In his Montessori level manifesto, he does not speak of economy, agriculture, fiscal policy, foreign relations and many other important matters but in a hurry to increase Rs. 10000ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  a month for each public servant. Public servants will be very happy of this offer on prima facie but the knowledgeable public servants very well know that this cannot be done and if it is done, it will be a financial disaster to the Sri Lankan economy. He has promised block of land for every landless person but he cannot fulfill this promise even if allƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  existing Sri Lankan natural forests are cleared. First he should donate the extra 10 perches he grabbed due to complacency of the Government to a needy soldier as mark of goodwill, if he really genuine.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ I doubt that the majority Sri LankansƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  want any change to the existing structure at the moment. Now that The MR Government has got rid of the LTTE menace, the Sri Lankans want President Rajpaksa to concentrate on steering the economy, completion of the projects already in progress and new projects to improve the living standard of all Sri Lankans. The Colombians who support arrogant, always contradictory SFƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  want the country bring back to normal within 6 months after the war for 30 years. This is humanly impossible task even for a most developed country like America. America is still struggling with the humanitarian tasks of the IDPS of Katrina disaster even after many years since it occurred.

The change (Venesak) in a hurry is wanted by a few disgruntled politicians like Ranil, Mangala, Somawansa, Hakeem, Ganeshan, some TNA MPs ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ and a disgruntled soldier who has got more than his fair share but still winging, the hardcore UNP Colombians who loves to see Rajapaksa getting defeated, INGOS and NGOs who have lost their live hood after the defeat of LTTE menace who were thriving on LTTE war.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Ironically, former CJ Sarath N Silva is also looking for a change? May be eyeing for a premiership. Poor RanilƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s katey puss. In his capacity as CJ, he supported the demerge of N&E as illegal and constitutional but now he hums a different tune. Probably now that he is not in the lime light other than for other obvious reasons, he may be looking for a change thro SF for his own benefit. May be that birds of a feather flock together. Your guess is as good as mine. I think he should stick to his layman bana preaching albeit he may not be practicing it.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ SF must be thinking that Sri Lanka will flourish with milk and honey by merely replacing RajapaksaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s charismatic smiling faceƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  with his moron face like HitlerƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ As we see, there is no reason for a change at this moment. What needs is to continue with the tasks after the war until their successful completion. If the changes proposed by SF in his Montessori manifesto and thro many utterances at the political meetings and press conferences are implemented, we are walking into a calamity. The proposed ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-vishvasaneeya venesakƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ by SF will only bring ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Vishvasaneeya VINSHAYAKƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚. I therefore request the Sri Lankans to use their vote wisely not for a change to fulfill Sarath FonsekaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s political dreams butƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  give strength to President Rajapaksa to steer Sri Lanka for a better tomorrow.

One Response to “Who wants a change? or “Vishvasaneeya VINASHAYAK”?”

  1. cassandra Says:

We can be sure of changes if Sarath Fonseka wins – he will continue to keep on changing. This is what he has done throughout this campaign. Let’s take one of the principal undertakings given by him: to abolish the Executive Presidency. Today, it is not so much as abolishing it. Even his great supporter, Sarath Silva, said during the Daily Mirror interview that the ‘concept of abolishing’ only means a reduction of powers but because it is difficult to explain this to the public, they say they will abolish the Executive Presidency. Now, is this not deceitful? All of us know Fonseka cannot abolish the Executive Presidency just like that. And are we fools to imagine that anyone would want to achieve that office simply to abolish it? He can go ‘tell that to the Marines’.
