Indian consulate in Jaffna!

India wants to set up a Consul-General’s office in Jaffna to create further mischief for the Sri ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Lanbkan people and restore connectivity of separatist ideology and Indian Foreign Secretary, Nirupama Rao is not a babe in the woods in these activities.
Chennai, Mumbai and Kolkata are ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the capitals of separate states and each of these states areƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ larger in area an population than Sri Lanka.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ All the other countries have one Office in Sri Lanka and it should be the same for India.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Why should there be a special objective to cater to the needs of the people of the Jaffna peninsula? Why should the Indian government strengthen the cultural links between the Northern Province in Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu, the birth place of Tiger terrorists? If India wants they should develop their visa office in Colombo so that any Sri Lankan can obtain visas without standing in mile long ques.
They say once bitten twice shy but unfortunately Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama and others never learn. Agreeing to this ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ proposal they have given the Indians premises with diplomatic immunity to pry into the internal affairs of the area and the repercussions of this foolish gesture will come to roost in the years to come.

This is nonsense. Indians should expand thier premises in Colombo, if there is a need, as Tamils are spread all over the country not only in Jaffna. This move means another security hazzard for Sri Lanka.

Does India really need the EELAM to come through? Or
Is India really trying to keep Sri Lanka under her thumb with the support of extremist Tamils in the North?
Sri Lanka Govt has to think of another mean to neutralise this situation.

Sri Lanka has its consulate in Chennai. As per diplomatic rules India has a right to open a consulate in Sri Lanka in any part of her choice.
So, dont bark like fools!

Mudali, India has a consulate in Colombo just like all other countries who have consulates. In a small country like ours one is more than enough. India was responsible for the birth, nurturing and supply of weapons and training and ultimately violating the Sri lankan airspace and dropping food to cornered LTTE terrorists. Do learn about the immunity available to a foreign consulate! Had their been a Indian consulate in Jaffna all the terrorist vermin would have taken shelter there and our armed forces would have been powerless. So think before you bark!

India dropped food to the people but that was confistigated by LTTE which later became India’s enemy and had a honey-moon with UNP. How?
Further Indian High Commission never give any “refuge” to any LTTE but many UNP sinhalese gave shelters to LTTE criminals!
India helped Sri Lanka in eliminating the LTTE in every possible ways. President Rajapaksa acknowledged the facts about the help from India.
