Dear Sir:
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
TheƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ news report that representatives of the Tamil Diaspora, who everyone knows is the LTTE Tamil diaspora, are going to New Delhi to discuss political processes for Sri Lanka with the Indian Government should be a cause for concern for the non-LTTE people of Sri Lanka as it constitutes a threat to the peace and stability of the country.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
The current government of Sri Lanka is well aware that the cause of Eelam is not dead and is now being driven by the LTTE diaspora who are conducting “elections” in foreign countries and that their stated goal is Eelam. The Defense Secretary has made statements about the LTTE diaspora’s continuedƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ promotion ofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Eelam and the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka hasƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ today issued a statement that a new military wing of the LTTE was forming to seek a separate state. He has also said that Tiger proxies were making preparations to convene their ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Transnational government of Tamil EalamƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ in Switzerland next week to coincide with the first death anniversary of LTTE leaderƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Prabakaran.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  It is important to note that this LTTE diaspora are citizens of other countries and are those responsible for lobbying politicians in various countries to be supportive of the LTTE and critical of Sri Lanka. What right have these people to decide on policy in Sri Lanka when they have no vote in Sri Lanka and their only goal isƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ is Eelam?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Why are they part of the “policy making” in India?
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
This meeting in India does not bode well for the future of Sri Lanka as a united country.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Sri Lankans should never forget that it was Indian policy to promote the LTTE in the 1980’s to destabilize and divide the countryƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ which led to over twenty five years of terrorism and bloodshed. Then, India was anti U.S. and thought Sri Lanka was too pro-U.S. Today, India is hand in glove with the U.S. and the U.S. through Robert Blake is threatening Sri Lanka with investigations, war crimes trials etc. to deliver Eelam to the LTTE. It is a possibility that once again India will sacrifice Sri Lanka for it’s own benefit. Because of Indian policy Sri LankaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  lost thousands of lives andƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ faced economicƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ruin. Having suffered through all this is the country once again going to be “invaded” by India, this time politically, to appeaseƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the LTTE supporters overseas and their supporters in Sri Lanka such as the TNAƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ who are trying to divide Sri Lanka with their demands of “maximum devolution” andƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ exclusive Tamil areas, their maps showƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ their Eelam.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
This government was voted into power because the LTTE was defeated militarily and the threats of daily terrorist attacks were stopped. That was the main item of propaganda at both the presidential and parliamentary elections. Now the country is being threatened politically by the LTTE from overseas.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ If the GOSL is aware of the activities of the diaspora andƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the support of the LTTE representatives overseas and in Sri Lanka by western governments this meeting in India may be the signal that India too is promoting the LTTE as represented by the diaspora and that is why they are at this meeting to be inaugurated by Indian Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ What is the government doing to meet this new challenge?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Are they going to allow Eelam through the back door and betray the millions who placed their trust in them?
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
Yours truly,
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

I saw the article in Island. No where did it say that LTTE diaspora in USA or Europe will attend it! Ira, you have forgotten that India has changed now. India did not stop our war at all. India cannot support seperatism when they face Kashmir, ULFA problems. India never openly vilified us unlike our enemies UK, USA, Norway, Canada etc.

  2. jay-ran Says:

Its a wrong conception that India supported war against LTTE willfully. But it was due to the correct approach of MR and sending the correct man to EDUCATE THE VERY PEOPLE WHO CREATED LTTE of the consequesncies and the erorrneous decissions taken by the Indian authorities, WHO HAD TO PAY WITH THE LIFE OF A PRIME MINISTER WHO TOO WAS SUPPORTING LTTE.
Pl do not forget that at one time, the Indian Foreign Minister or some higher authority TRIED TO INTERVENE AND DEMANDED MR TO STOP THE ASSAUKT ON LTTE! But OUR GREAT LEADER HON PRESIDENT REPLIED IN A HIGH TONE ” India could invade Sri Lanka, but I’ll never stop crushing the LTTE”

So what Ira says is true.We need to be vigilent of Indian behaviour.
