The so-called International Crisis Group (ICG), is one of the fraudulentƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ organisations that conducts theirƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ nefarious activities under the guise of self-appointed moralƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ force of the world;ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ they haveƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ access to almost unlimited volumes of finance provided by western governments and various other individuals and ‘foundations’ intent on intervening in affairs of other countries, mainlyƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ for the purpose of keeping Israel’s murderous activities out of the newsƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ .

Their latest intended fraudulent intervention involves the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”reportƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ no.191. This particular piece of rubbish wasƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ released to coincide with the planned victory celebrations and President RajapakseƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s visit to Iran to assume leadership of G15, one of the most significant emerging world groupings is typical of the dishonesty of the group. They really wanted to spoil the party and tarnish President Rajapakse’s rising international image.

The report itself is another desperate attempt toƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ throw the baseless and fraudulent casualty figures released to the media by the then UN ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”commissarƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ Gordon Weiss (now unemployed) and Paul Castellano of the ICRC: the casualty figures and war crimes accusations did not work in May 2009, and they will not work in 2010: they can make their ‘recommendations’ to someone who cares!

From a British point of view, the appointment of Patton as Governor of Hong Kong at this crucial point in history proved to be a ‘Major’ mistake in view of the subtle diplomatic skills that were needed to smooth over the devastating effect the handover had on the collective psyche of the British as the final nail on the empire. The British frustration was exacerbated by the inability, with China looming in the background, to construct the ‘kit and kiboodle’ of human rights, democratic elections, civil liberties, to be left behind as they did in other colonial territories.

Patton, who was a politician without any foreign service involvement or experience was eminently unqualified to handle the sensitivities involved; within justƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  few months into his tenure he started to ruffle Chinese feathers by his ‘Bull in the China Shop’ approach to dealing with China by arrogantly and unilaterally announcing proposals for the ‘democratic reform’ of Hong Kong’s institutions.

During his prickly relations with China, criticism of his approach with the Chinese often came from within his own government. British Foreign Office officials together with Hong Kong’s business elite objected to his confrontational approach to negotiations with China.

Most prominent among Patton’s opponents was Sir Percy Cradock, former Ambassador to China and Britain’s lead negotiator in the 1984 hand over talks. Sir PercyƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ opposed Patten’s aggressive attempts to chastise the Chinese on ‘democratic reform’ as an insult on Chinese intelligence due to Britain’s own failure to give any form of representative government in the 150 years prior to the handover. Cradock’s view was backed by the entire Foreign Office and most members of John Major’s cabinet.

The irritated Chinese stopped talking to Patton and started referring to him with deprecating nicknames such as the ‘whore of the East,’ a ‘serpent’ and a ‘criminal who would be condemned for a thousand generations’.

After the Union Jack was lowered for the last time on 30 June 1997 Patton left the city, together with Prince Charles, on board the British royal yacht HMY Britannia. Patten was noted to be in tears after his speech at the Transfer and he later described the job as Governor of Hong Kong as the experience that shaped him for the rest of his life.

Patton was appointed by Tony Blair as European Commissioner for External Relations, a job he described as boring. As EU envoy to Sri Lanka in November 2003, he met with Prabhakaran, again symbolising his insensitivity to the concerns of national governments. He wanted to be president of the EU Commission but withdrew after strong opposition from France and Germany.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

Based on this dubious history of the ICG and the major personnel involved with it, the so-called ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”War Crimes ReportƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ and the ICG need to be condemned with the contempt they deserve: burn it!
