Concerning UN Secretary General’s Decision to Appoint a UN Panel of Experts for Sri Lanka

PRESS RELEASE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION
Moscow has taken note of UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moonƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s decision to appoint a UN panel of experts to investigate war crimes during the period of the campaign against the Tamil Tigers. As follows from UN sources, this panel is not a fact finding or investigation mechanism, but is designed solely to advise him on accountability issues relating to alleged violations of international human rights and humanitarian law.
In doing so, the UN Secretary-General as chief administrative officer of the United Nations should apparently have asked the opinion of the Security Council or the General Assembly on this matter. But this has not happened. What also makes us cautious is the fact that this decision was taken without regard to the position of a sovereign state and a member of the UN ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” Sri Lanka. As is known, they in Sri Lanka have already begun their own investigation process at national level (the Commission on Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation with a mandate to review all aspects of the conflict). As follows from the statement made on behalf of the Government of Sri Lanka by the External Affairs Ministry of that country, and the statement of its Minister of Information, Sri Lanka ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-regards the appointment of the Sri Lanka Panel of Experts as unwarranted and unnecessary and contrary to the position of a UN member state.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ Lynn Pascoe, the Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs, who visited Sri Lanka a few days ago, as we understand, was aware of this position of Colombo.
We believe that the primary responsibility for investigating the events that occurred in the past in Sri Lanka lies with its Government and that the newly appointed UN panel of experts, which, as follows from UN Secretariat statements, does not intend to visit Sri Lanka, will not take any steps that would complicate the investigation being conducted by the authorities of Colombo.

I guess they will all ware tiger suits. So if they appear at our airports it will be easy to identify them and put them back on a return trip; fares would be paid privately by Mr Moon.

Every self respecting country who is a member of the UN must follow the example set up by the Russian Federation. The double standards of the Christian West must be exposed and the UN exorcised of the rats who have now come to occupy this hallowed establishment. Failure to do so will result in individual countries taken to task over bogus Human Rights issues. All countries who are against such treatment should stand up and be counted.
Christian West destabilization of third world countries is going a pace. Together we should stand, for divided we shall certainly fall and fail!

With this type of unwarranted and inappropriate action by Moon to please some of the West will not make him a full moon but a waxing moon. Sri Lanka’ stand on this issue is very brave that visas will not be issued the so called panel to enter our soil.
We salute Moscow’s reaction!

Minister of foreign affairs of the Russian federation!
Whole Sri Lankans those who are not terrorist supporters will grateful to our friendly, supportive Russian federation. Ever since Russian federation always helped us when the needed time. “The friend in need is friend indeed”.
In 1960’ era Russia helped us to start more industries we needed. Steel factory, Tyre factory and floor milling factory are some examples. But British’s invaders were in SL nearly 150 years have they given us a steel factory or tyre factory or at least a Biscuit factory? They have looted all our wealth to London and made us miserable.
In recent past EEC, Anglo Saxon expansionist countries (USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand) and South Africa whole heartily supported Tamil racist expansionists terrorist to divide Sri Lanka. We know they had several hidden agendas on it.
When Sri Lanka was fighting against the Tamil terrorist racist expansionism we noticed four countries helped us through out sincerely. One is Russian Federation the other three are Peoples Republic of China, Pakistan and Islam Republic of Iran. They are our true friends and we are grateful always.
Thank you very much Russian Federation for your support given to us at this time again.

Now only our people look for support from the so called anti-WESTERN countries. But all the other times our politicians and diplomats showed that they are “anti- Left, or anti-communist”. Not only that Dr. Dayan Jayathilaka was FIRED from the post in Geneva after the defeat of the motion by Navaneetham Pillai.
Even the stupid High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in London apologised to British foreign office for the remarks made by Dr.Dayan Jayathilaka!
I believe Rajapaksa regime still try to satisfy Catholic Church and the Christian West which back all the terrorism in Sri lanka!Recently some well known Canadian LTTE criminals were entertained by Rajapaksa. These LTTE criminals are still anti-Sri Lanka and continue the WAR against the supporters of Sri Lanka!
Our FOREIGN MINISTRY is under the control of local Catholic/pro-western gangs!

Since UNSG appointed a panel WITHOUT approval from the UN Security Council or the General Assembley, is it appropriate to refer to it as the “UN Panel” instead of “UNSG Panel” ?
Also we need to heed the warnings given by MSMUdali, though his style of commenting is very blunt and outside our comfort zone. I too agree we were very ungrateful to Dr Dayan Jayatilaka, but the minister responsible is no longer in Govt.
