The appointment of three member UN panel by Secretary General of United Nations instantly reminded me the similar panel appointed by former Secretary General Kofi Anan to investigate the possession of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq by UN security council just after the 9/11 incident in USA. As a measure of countering global terrorism, UN Security Council was supported by member states to carry out the mission led by US and UK. Panel returned after fact finding mission in Iraq empty handed, but the hidden agenda of US and UK in demolishing Iraq regime continued to follow on the tract that US and UK have already agreed upon. Mission accomplished, American puppet was installed in Iraq and now operation continues in Afghanistan under the pre-text of capturing Bin Laden. This incident clearly indicated that UN panels are not truly appointed for fact finding or advisory purposes when it comes to terrorism matters, but to gradually destabilize and finally demolish the sovereign states whose states policies are not in line with west agendas. West led by US and UK demand other individual states either supportive of their agenda or stay neutral.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Sri Lanka have heavily suffered for over 30 years by brutal LTTE terrorism, billions of properties were destroyed, thousands of lives were victimized and country was drowned to the deep end of economic anarchy. When Sri Lanka was pushed for the humanitarian mission to rescue innocent Tamil civilian withheld by LTTE as a human shield to stop marching Sri Lankan forces to the victory, this happy camp of West did everything possible either to stop or delay the defeat of LTTE. But determined Sri Lanka was well supported by Asian allied and other countries at UN commission on human rights to carry forward the mission. The entire attempt of UN human right commission was demolished and war continued ending 30 years blood bath by LTTE terrorism in May 2009. Navi Pillay of South African Tamil origin, the UN high commissioner for human rights is now waving the flag of Tamil separatism within UN body against Sri Lanka single handedly with the help of some officials of Vijay NambiarƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s caliber in the name of human rights violations in the latter part of Eelam war VI. These people are now acting in association with LTTE remnants around the world to achieve the diminished goal of establishing independent Tamil state in north and east of Sri Lanka. Now separatism has taken a different direction and is brought to the global forum by initializing the Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam, the concept well supported by this west happy camp. Having realized the impossibility of achieving Eelam dream by full scale weaponry war, now thoughts have been diverted to Eelam war V through which the LTTE remnants around the world dream that their goal can be achieved by ideological warfare. Clearly, LTTE terrorism is eradicated from Sri Lankan soil, but the ideology of separatism is yet to be defeated.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ItƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s very clear from Sri Lankan point of view that those who supported to defeat terrorism in Sri Lanka are still behind them. Those who pretended to be supporting Sri Lanka to defeat terrorism are still playing the same double game. Just imagine who got thrilled by the appointment of UN panel: US, UK together with EU and nasty Solheim led Norway and Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam camp.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Within institutional and diplomatic sense, it is questionable how Ban Ki Moon appointed such three member committee without consulting the Security Council and UN assembly. Ban Ki Moon has virtually breached the diplomatic boundaries to appoint this panel for some reasons known to him. This committee will only serve as a precursor to appoint a legal committee to investigate car crimes during the latter part of the war in near future. The formation of this advisory panel would only yield a disastrous outcome to the ongoing reconciliation process among the communities within Sri Lanka. Moreover, Sri Lankan issue can never ever be compared with the investigation of war crimes by Israel against Palestine as these two are two independent countries bordering each other whereas Sri Lankan issue is completely an internal operation to save the country from separatism by brutal terrorism.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ UN and west should realize one fact that Sri Lanka is not a colony of British or west anymore, but an independent sovereign state. This tiny Island has provided a unique example to the entire world that terrorism is stoppable and separatism is beatable. What Ban Ki should have asked from Sri Lanka was to send a panel of expertise from Sri Lanka to UN to advice US and other countries to defeat global terrorism. Making models for defeating terrorism is UNƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s historical obligation, in that sense Sri Lanka set a practical example to this world body.
