Sir:
Now that the hearing of the 492 illegal Tamil migrants who arrived on Sun Sea isgrinding down and have found one migrant deemed to be a potential security risk, what the immigration lawyers who are speaking in defence of these migrantswanting them to be admitted as refugees may have held back these ‘Sri Lankan truths’ from the judge to make a fair judgement on these migrants.

Every one of these illegal Tamil migrants who paid $450,000 to get a ride to Canada is a multi-millionaire four times over in Sri Lankan terms.  Every one of them is the envy of 80 pecent of the 22 million population of Sri Lanka who are unable to become millionaires even after a lifelong slogging at a job.  That every one of these Tamil illegal migrant millionaires with that kind of money could buy a decent three bedroom house in an urban suburb and live comfortably for the next 20 years without raising a finger to work for a living.  Every one of them could afford to employ a domestic to cook and take care of the house for the next 20 years and they could employ a gardener so that they could go out to the garden every morning and smell the roses to start their day for the next 20 years.

With that luxury at their feet and keeping away from a society that they think may persecute them, go figure out why they landed in Canada seeking refuge.  My guess is as good as yours as they have found that Canada’s grass is greener from that of the rest of the world, and  that we are a generous bunch with a pretty generous social system that they can fall back on.

And that is a reality check for the judge who is hearing the lawyers defending these illegal Tamil migrants in British Columbia.
