Dear Editor,

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Break-in at Canadian Tamil Congress Office in Scarborough

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ I refer to the front page news report of September 13th filed by Jayme Poisson and a follow up report with a picture of the CTC spokesperson David Poopalapillai in the Greater Toronto section of todayƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s edition filed by San Grewal, where the reported loss of alleged data pertaining to illegal Tamil migrants aboard the MV Sun Sea has been scaled back to a couple of dozen names from the prior figure of more than 300 records.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It is difficult to comprehend that an organization such as the CTC with its ample resources and ability to provide lawyers, doctors, social workers, etc. to the 492 illegal

migrants lacked the means to install normal security measures at their office.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  The CTC has used this occasion to make wild allegations aimed at slinging mud at the Sri Lankan authorities and insinuating that they are linked to the break-in and theft of property.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ According to the media reports, these illegal migrants were able to freely leave Sri Lanka and join the $45,000.00 cargo boat cruise from some isolated ports in remote parts of Thailand.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Sri Lanka was obviously not concerned about their leaving the island as she had succeeded in defeating the brutal terrorist group known as the Tamil Tigers after nearly 32 plus years of murder and mayhem, and also rescue 294,000 Tamil civilians from the clutches of these terrorists who exploited their labour and used them as a human shield.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ In the circumstances, it is quite reasonable to deem that the break-in was an inside job manipulated by the CTC to get rid of a computer containing damaging information about its links to the human smuggling operation aboard the Ocean Lady and the MV Sun Sea which is under investigation by the Canadian authorities.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Sincerely,

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Mahinda Gunasekera

Goopalapillai seems to be running out of ideas to trick the Canadians.

  2. M.S.MUdali Says:

But this Poopalapillai was entertained by Mr. Bandula Jayasekara, former consul general of SL, Toronto. Any clue?
