ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It was what they did with the documentary it presented in its TV ChannelƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ on ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚«ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ jihadist preachers in mosquesƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚» called the Undercover Mosque.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The West Midland Police in UKƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ reported the Channel 4 to industry regulator Ofcom over the way an undercover programme was edited.
West Midlands Police carried out an investigation into three speakers in the programme- Undercover Mosque.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The Crown Prosecution Service, speaking about the programme said, it ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-completely distorted ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ what the speakers said.

After the programme was presented by the Channel 4,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the spokesman for the Green Lane Mosque said , that, ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚«ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦.he had been shocked by the programme and was thankful the mosque’s name had been clearedƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚».
Abu Usamah, one of the preachers featured in the programme, said he was shocked when he saw himself depicted. He added,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ that, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It was the fact that Green Lane Mosque has a 33-year-old tradition of preaching and teaching the moderate version of Islam. After viewing the programme in Channel 4, they ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ said the film presented by the Channel 4 had misused and fabricated data, relying on out-of-date research, employing misleading arguments and misrepresentedƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the position of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The video footage of the Channel 4 of the alleged summary killing of the naked men with their hands bound by a man wearing a dress like a soldiers uniform, should not have been allowed to be presented at the Geneva UNHRC Sessions held in June, 2011.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The Sri Lanka delegation to the session had gone unprepared and raised no objection to the presentation of this video footage which is without any doubt a completely a faked video.
It was a pity that we did not have Dr.Dayan Jayatiklleke at least as a member of that Sri Lanka Delegation toƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the UNHRC.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ He would have certainly not allowedƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the video footage to have been presented.
Even after its presentation the Sri Lanka Delegation did not even attempt to show the apparentƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ falsity of the Video, despite the assertion of theƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ US experts who seem to lack real expertise in ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Video fabricationƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
A soldier who shoots a civilian would have knocked him off with the but of his gun and shot point blank to kill without getting some other soldier to keep the man seated up right for him to shoot !!!.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
There were two of these documents in whichƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the persons shooting were speaking in Tamil in one and in the other which is the same in which the words spoken in inaudible SinhalaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ had been ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-fedƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ in to the Video.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Why did not the Sri Lanka Delegation make investigations before attending the UNHRC Sessions and got the two copies and presented them at the Session, to prove that what had been presented by Navineetham ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Pillai was a fake ?
A document presented at a high level forum like that of the UNHCR Session, to accuse a Sovereign State for War Crimes, should have been properly introducedƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ giving the names of the persons who filmed the scene, the names of the persons who had been killed by shooting,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ where it was taken , ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ whether there were other witnesses to the incident,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ and the circumstances under which the UK TV Channel 4 came into possession of them.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
Without such information the presentation of the video footage should have been rejected by the Sri Lanka Delegation.
Now the damage has been done, and the UK Channel 4 ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ will be presenting on the 14th June,2011 another ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…- fakedƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ longer film on the infamous incidentƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-hatched by the Channel 4ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ to fool the ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ apparently naƒÆ’†’ƒ”š‚¯ve UK viewers.

But we should at least at thisƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ stage question why this continued vendetta against Sri LankaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ by theƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ UKChannel 4 ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ adducing mean, lowly, crude, and most unethical methods to discredit, the government and the armed forces of Sri Lanka ?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Is it ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ to satisfy a clientƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ who is ready to payƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ to bring the Government of Sri Lanka before a tribunal accused for War Crimes ?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
Of course money may be one consideration, as the TV Channel4ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ pays for itself in much the same way as most privately run commercial stations. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The Channel has its financial problems .
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚«ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ In 2007 due to severe funding difficulties, the channel sought government help and was granted a payment of ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚£14 million over a six-year period. The money would have come from the television licence fee and would have been the first time that money from the licence fee had been given to any broadcaster other than the BBC. The plan was scrapped by the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, Andy Burnham, ahead of “broader decisions about the future framework of public service broadcasting”.The broadcasting regulator Ofcom released their review in January 2009 in which they suggested that Channel 4 would preferably be funded by “partnerships, joint ventures or mergersƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚»

Under the current UK law a private individual living in UK can file a case against this team who did the research, production and the presentation of this flim. Upsala univisity in Sweden, doctored the film so that technologists will be confused, but in a court of law the falsefication of the technology used can be proved. IS there any Sinhala living in UK willing to file this case? I do not think so!

Man made global warming is a fraud. There upto 30,000 scientists who dispute Al Gore’s version of Global Warming. Also UK Channel 4 these days nothing more than a tabloid newspaper in TV form. They are now trying to appeal to the less intelligent in the UK population. The agenda is quite is quite obvious tabloid newspapers and Channel 4 are trying to stoke a clash of civilisations (Christian vs Islam) scenario. Only the least intelligent would fall for it. No one with any intelligence in the UK pays any attention to what Channel 4 says anymore.

Anybody know any Sinhalese will know the original would not have been done in Sinhalese and Sinhalese words have been dubt. The Sinhalese words here has nothing to do with the vedio. Clearly a doctored piece without doubt. I saw what was supposed to be the original in the internet site. The words spoken are in Tamil and it look authenticate. As usual the LTTE killed thier own people or SL soldiers and vedio tape and released as SL army doing it. As long as Sri Lanka will not make India insecure we don’t have problems. 13th amendment and tamil issue is important for NGO supperters because if Tamils don’t gain they will lose. Their plans will buckle. I remind here again the late pope’s declraration that Asia is the new millinium’s battle ground.
TNA is the most important to handle. Only way to do that, govt should reach to Tamils and TNA should be side lined.

The hot areas on earth are getting warmer and the cold areas are getting colder, with more storms (tornadoes, cyclones, typhoons etc.) and polar & mountain ice cap melting, resulting in rise of sea levels. Some say that earthquakes can happen due to Fracking used to search for oil.

Fran Diaz : I am not disagreeing with you that climate change is real. I just don’t agree with the way it is presented in the maintream media. I have an open mind on these things, it is possible global warming is caused by the Sun going through its natural changes. This is another point of view. I am someone who is open minded and want to find out all the findings not just what the mainstream media tells me. You may be right Fran, but I want to hear all points view on the matter. Please look up Lord Monckton and global warming who presents a compelling case for the other side.

I am not trying to alarm you just present you with a alternative point of view. I for a long time believed man made global warming until I read up on Lord Monkton. I am not a conservative or rightwing nut just someone who wants to hear all points of view. The internet is the only place where that occurs. Certainly doesn’t occur in mainstream media.

We don’t know who filmed? when and where? Have you read media specialist Mr Siri Hewawitharana’s findings? He challenged to the entire tamil media world and proved that it was filmed with a digital camera with zoom and this is a fake film and edited in a lab. Now Channel 4 and tamil media has to prove it was filmed by a mobile phone. Can they prove it was not edited?
Will you believe Channel 4 film as a true one? If so you have to believe prabakaran is still alive? Can’t you remember after 2009 May 18th tamil net and pro LTTE media, released a video clip of prabakaran, himself watching his dead body in the TV with sarcastic face.

Rohan8: I do agree with you some media may be alarmists and exaggerating the effects of human contribution toward Climate Change. But, we all have to face the fact that there is such a high contribution made through use of fossil fuel in that carbon dioxide is produced when burning fossil fuels which in turn causes less heat escape from planet Earth (Glass House effect). As a result when the air warms up, water from the sea especially evaporates, and this causes too much rain plus winds (blowing of warm air to cool air areas) resulting in tornadoes, hurricanes, etc. Even small rises in temperatures here and there matter. The rise in sea levels will happen over many years, and it is predicted that about 12 feet will rise over some 50 – 100 yrs. (not sure of period here). Polar caps & mountain ice cap melt down is already happening, quite rapidly too.
We can all see that too many weather related extreme conditions are happening. Check out NASA website http://www.giss.nasa.gov/research/briefs/ for the latest information.
At any rate, it will be far better to MAINLY use wind & solar and other natural and renewable resources rather than use fossil
fuel which reason has caused a great deal of political unrest/some wars in the world. This will save valuable foreign exchange too.
We agree that keeping an open mind is a good thing.
