WHO ARE THE TAMILS AND WHAT ARE THEIR GRIEVANCES?

South Indians are supposed to be original indigenous people of India who were pushed down by successive Greek, Persian and Moghul invasions. Even to date after thousands of years the people in the North are mostly fair skinned with light eyes with a happier temperament while in the South they are more dark skinned and mostly dour in temperament. Some Tamils are not happy anywhere in the world. Because they are not happy in their homeland Tamil Nadu they have migrated all over the world – Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore, Fiji, Mauritius, South Africa, Europe, Canada, Australia to name a few.
Wherever such people go most of them create a ruckus. They use all the welfare systems in each country they go to extract the maximum and contribute the minimum to the country.
Tamil Nadu opted for separation from India for a long time. The first ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Tamil Nadu for TamilsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ Conference was held on 10 December 1939 calling for an independent Dravida Nadu. In 1963 Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru was quick to make constitutional amendments prohibiting political parties and individuals demanding independence to contest elections. It was at this point in time that the Sri Lankan Tamil leaders became even more active on the separatist movement.
In Sri Lanka, Tamil leaders have been asking for a separate state for Tamils even during the time of British rule in Lanka, in the 1930ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s. As we know, Tamils were led by the Vellahla Tamils of Jaffna, together with the Christian/Catholic group of that time. The British, fortunately, did not deem this suitable, for whatever reason.
The way I see it, the upper caste Tamils in Tamil Nadu have created conditions to motivate the Dalits (Tamils of Untouchable origin) to leave Tamil Nadu. The easiest way for them to do it is to point to Sri Lanka and say ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”go thereƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢. Tamil politicians have always used Sri Lanka as a distraction to draw attention away from internal issues.
M.G. Ramachandran who migrated from the tea estates of Sri Lanka to Tamil Nadu became an actor in historical films where he was always Rama. The ignorance of the South Indian people is so great that many years ago when he used to ride in a car some would throw them selves under the wheels of the car since they thought he was Rama and dying under RamaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s wheels made them go to heaven. In all the films Rama fights Ravana from Sri Lanka to win back Sita. As a result there is this feeling in Tamil Nadu that somehow it is acceptable to attack Sri Lanka the evil abode of Ravana. Now RamachandranƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s mistress Jayalalitha has become the Governor and is using the same type of mythology to attack Sri Lanka. The stupid Sri Lankan tourist board is trying to organize Rama/Sita Trail tours to attract Indians as tourists. This is crazy since some of them come with the intent of staying on in Sri Lanka on a permanent basis and are poor people who are unsuitable for Lanka as they know nothing of the country and bring in nothing in the form of wealth or property. Most of them become fodder for anti-Lankan activities.
These Tamils are aided and abetted by the Catholic Church which sees many converts among these Tamils who wish to convert to change their Dalit status. By crossing sea water and converting, they lose their ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-UntouchabilityƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ status. When the war with the LTTE ended 31 catholic priests emerged out of Wanni. What were they doing there? Were they the guiding brains behind Prabahakaran?
The Government of Sri Lanka by providing free education, free health care and free food for those of low incomes have created ideal conditions for the attraction of the Tamil Dalits to Sri Lanka.
Now recently they opened the ferry service too. So what more do they need as incentives to come as illegal immigrants to Sri Lanka. There were almost 300,000 refugees when they were liberated from the LTTE by the Sri Lanka army. This number is almost double the original census numbers from the time before the war began. From where did all the extra people emerge. Even when you look at the faces of the refugees you can see that some of them look very different and more like the South Indians than Sri Lankan Tamils. The GoSL is having a hard time trying to get the remaining IDPs out of the refugee camps since they do not seem to have any place to go. This is because they were not from Sri Lanka originally.
Some Tamils have a deep seated unhappiness in their psyche due to the long history of discrimination in India. Can we in Sri Lanka ever solve the 3,000 yrs old Caste based “Institutionalised Discrimination” in India. The resulting low self esteem results in anger & frustration in these people who have migrated to Sri Lanka to escape discrimination in Tamil Nadu. Even after many centuries, some of them still feel the sting of this “Discrimination” which they vent from time to time against the Sinhalese, the Lanka President, the GoSL & and anyone perceived as opposing them in general. It is a PSYCHOLOGICAL problem which has to be faced and overcome even at this late stage.
Many have asked the Tamils what the Tamil Problems in Sri Lanka are. To date no Tamil person has stated what exactly these problems are. However, many Tamil people have broken through the past problems they have faced with India’s “Institutionalised Discrimination” to achieve integration with other Lankans and lead productive and happy lives. The Tamil diaspora abroad complain of discrimination. I cannot think of any area where they are discriminated. The Tamils in the country do not complain of discrimination. They all receive the same free education, free medical care and free food for low incomes like anyone else in the country. How come they do not complain about discrimination in Malaysia where the Malays have openly put in laws to favor the Malays such as the Bhumiputra laws.
It is up to the Tamil people and others to avail themselves of the opportunities given in Lanka and try to integrate with the rest of the population instead of trying to remain separate and identified with Tamil Nadu instead of Sri Lanka. How come they can go to Norway and in three months learn Norwegian language but cannot learn Sinhalese after a life time or many generations in Sri Lanka. Why do not they ask for a separate state in Scarborough, Ontario, which they have carved out for them selves by forming Tamil ghettos.
Sri Lanka never practiced “Institutionalised Discrimination” against any sector of her society, thanks to the Buddhist heritage. Many of the Tamil people speaking against Sri Lanka at present received their education free of charge here and thousands of Tamils have become Doctors, Engineers. etc., and some even received their doctorates here, thanks to the generosity of GoSL. Most of the Tamil diaspora abroad who are causing so many problems for Sri Lanka received their education at the expense of the country.
Tamil Nadu politicians appear to use Sri Lanka as a source to deflect away the problems in TN. The latest is the tirade of lies by Jayalalitha who is spouting venom against Sri Lanka. Instead of focussing on Sri Lanka she should be looking at the issues in Tamil Nadu and trying to solve them. If her real aim in focussing attention on Sri Lanka is to take over Sri Lanka as part of Tamil Nadu then it is a different matter and will have to be dealt with accordingly as we dealt with LTTE.
Jayalalitha can start by introducing a sewer system in Tamil Nadu so that human beings do not have to collect fecal matter by hand off the roads. A couple of years ago a Dalit who refused to collect fecal matter had her face pushed in to fecal matter and then she was beaten to death in India. When I last went to India in the 80ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s it was a common sight early in the morning to see all the people squatting on the side of the road for the morning ablutions. Then the heat of the day would dry it and blow the dust into everyoneƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s face. When the sewers are put in then people can build toilets. The rich in India are superrich and the poor are down in the dust.
Why not introduce free education and health care like in Sri Lanka in Tamil Nadu? At one time Jayalalitha was going round with a bullet proof vest for fear of her life that the LTTE would kill her, when Prabahakaran was alive. She should be grateful to President Rajapakse for solving that problem. Karunanidhi was doing the same when he was in power. Now he is criticizing Jayalalitha for attacking Sri Lanka. It was her paramour M.G. Ramachandran who created the LTTE by funding them with great wads of money. India turned a blind eye to these activities until the LTTE killed Rajiv Ghandhi. Then India turned against LTTE. I think politicians are the worst liars in the world, but Tamil Nadu politicians come number one among all politicians for their ability to lie.
At the end of the day ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Truth WinsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ as stated as the motto on the Indian flag. It has happened again and again if you look at world history. I am sure in the end in Sri Lanka too Truth will win. Truth must win for the sake of us all.

Let Ramachandran’s mistress [Hora Ganie] Jayalalitha should ask Tamil Nadu as their separate country from India and take all Tamils in Sri Lanka back into their homeland. She can then sing “Rajina Mamai Appa Rajaya”.

The sector of Tamil people of low caste/no caste turn to any religion, it all depends on their Agenda for that time period. They become Catholic or Christians, Muslim (current trend), Hindu, or even Buddhists. It all depends on the money, jobs, better education, travel abroad, feelings of power, and other favors offered for the conversion. We wish these Tamil people learn of honesty & integrity first, and then they will get everything, for they will then earn respect & regard from the rest of society here
and abroad.

Tamils are divided into many pieces like a broken glass. They can live only with other community and never
form a Land and live together. History of the Tamil Liberation organisations showed the truth to the world how they destroyed themself. Only LTTE gained the controll over Tamils with Terror and murders.
Tamil politicians are cheating Tamils with Tamil Language. I ask them, do they want to save Tamil Language
or Tamil community? What are the approaching dangers toward to the Tamil community in Sri Lanka?
We see one truth Tamilnadu politicians and Tamil Politicains from North and East of Sri Lanka are problem makers.
In Tamilnadu Dravida and in Sri Lanka Tamil. They need luxury life . LTTE did the same with diaspora Tamils.
Tamil politicains are Terrorist without arms. They must change their minds and lead the Tamil community
on the right way. If they do the same like past 50 years they will bring Tamils to the disaster again.

I would like to add that I do not accept the Caste System – it is a man made abomination and should be got rid of through education, good ethics & morality, honesty & integrity. Whatever religion any Tamil person belongs to, that person should follow the basic teachings of that religion, and with education, good ethics & morality, honesty & integrity, will be accepted into any society anywhere in the world.
What I am against is conniving with vested interests within different religious groups to bring down Sri Lanka and her People. Ch.4 fiasco is a case in point.

See in Tamilnadu, Tamils exploit tamils in the name of TAMIL. The very simple example is every political party in TN is TAMIL.
Except for Estate Tamils and their descendants, Sri Lanka can not have true Tamils when see study their background. Tamils and Sinhalas are so interconnected, and it is very clear, there are there because the former govts, including those in the colonial govts allowed Colombo to be far away for Tamils than the Tamil Nadu.
Tamils know sinhalas are very laid back, accomodating and forgiving because of that they are very forgetful about what happened in the past and accept Tamils again. For example, see Tamils living every other country in the world, some were populated since the 1983 riots and some how, they have learned the majority language and are contributing to that economy very well. There, they are very good citizens (ummm, not always, a few here and there engage in serious criminal and commercial crimes).
Only, in srilanka, they boast about the few who pay taxes and, for that, they ask so omany things including a prt of the country and the ocean.

While skin tone may not matter (most Asians are tones of brown, anyway), what does matter is that the island of Sri Lanka is being over run by forces inimical, and unless the concerned citizens of this island are aware and act, we may have to give away slices of our only homeland to parties that use cheat & deceit to achieve their ends.

Tamil Nadu is almost 100% Hindu. The Ramayana is the first Hindu epic story, told in an allegorical manner to show the spiritual path to Self Realisation. If you turn the map India upside down, the head part is Sri Lanka (Ravana) and the Heart part or Rama, is India. Rama is the good, the pure, the beautiful, and Ravana is the ten headed, clever but unwise and lusty person who abducts Sita. Now, this story is pure myth, even though there must have been a Guru by the name of Rama who lived in India thousands of years ago. But, Hindu Tamil Nadu believes in such stories, and the illiterate of Tamil Nadu will believe it not as myth but as somewhat real. Therein lies the danger, that ‘bad’ Ravana lived in Lanka, and ‘good’ Rama lived in India. It certainly is not a good idea to have tourist attractions such as the Rama/Sita Trail in Lanka. It is not a good idea in these particular times. May be a leaflet should be distributed to tourists who do take this Trail, that it is a MYTHICAL tale. Even then, we should wait for a more peaceful time to re-introduce this tourist attraction, if at all.
Whatever color our skins are, what matters is whether we are loyal to the country we live in, that we learn some skills to earn a living and follow the good Core Teachings of whatever religion we belong to. We are just sick & tired of the cheat & deceit which only benefit a few cunning people who live abroad and a here. Time to live in peace and earn a better life for all.

There are so many internet spies are around. They do write very cunningly interpreted articles or books to look
down on Sinhalese or promote racism against Sinhalese. They use this kind of cunningly interpreted words to avoid the law. I give you one example. There was a book that was authorized to Canadian high school. The book says ” Buddhists are the only good people who do no believe God”. Anybody who is innocent read this, think it is a piece of friendly writing.This was published by American and British supporters of Tigers. Some Muslim Arab girls in a Collage asked me why “Sinhalese do not believe God”. They have read the same book. I told them, it is not true. We believe Divine more than anybody else. We use the phrase ” God blase” through out our history and everyday life. Buddha never denied God or divine, he himself we recognized as divine power and messenger of God. This rumor and hate spreads against Sri lanka by same people who spread hate against Muslim.
Now, coming back to this articles, for me, one paragraphs of this articles was very suspicious. there have been many articles like this “sound very good at the beginning but mean something else
at the end.
we only can know for sure when Sri lanka have a spy agency with same western tools to check and guarantee the article is not written by a spy to mislead.

Tamil Hinduism totally different from North India. Tamil do not take north Indian stories into them. they hate North Indian or Hindi language. Ravana story is totally non Tamil. This article purely written by a Tiger supporting spy to insult Sinhalese.
If this not true I apologize to him her. but before apology. let challenge him or her to come to Sri lanka and we can meet at a location that Sri lanka spy agency prefers.

Tamils deserve a nation of their own in their true homeland – Tamil Nadu.
As long as India refuses to allow the creation of a separate nation in Tamil Nadu, this problem will continue. No Tamil cultural things was ever made in Sri Lanka. They all come from TN. So TN was and is the only Tamil homeland.

The article by “Cerberus” is almost all factually correct. The only error I could find was that ‘C’ has said that poorer Tamil people used to throw themselves under MGR’s ‘car’ – it was in fact the chariot in which MGR rode dressed as “Rama’. As for the Ramayana story, Tamil Nadu is strewn with ancient historical Temple sites showing that Tamils embraced the Ramayana. The Ramayana is very much alive in Tamil Nadu and MGR himself played the role of Rama in films & festivals !
Some people may find these facts unpalatable, but present them we must to save Sri Lanka from being divided to please the whim and fancy of some.
We are very interested in Kit Athul’s disclosure re the recent Census in Lanka. 3% of the North are Illegal Tamil entrants from Tamil Nadu are still in Sri Lanka. Who sponsored them into Lanka and for what purpose ? We like to know the details – it is very important that all Lankans get to know the details of this Census and the details on the illegal entrants from Tamil Nadu.
It is indeed correct to say loud & clear “Tamil Nadu for Tamil Homeland”, for the Ch.4 sponsors & the Tamil Diaspora & international bodies who go around bashing Lanka basing their claims on cheat & deceit.
