ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Sir:ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Historian Desmond Morton makes a song and dance on how Canada’s reaction to 9/11 made us strong to deal with possible terrorist attacks on Canada, but what is sad is how Canada couldn’t care two dead capelin washed on the shores of Newfoundland when it comes to terrorism in the far away island, Sri Lanka.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Sri Lanka was haemorrhaged for 27 bloody years by the Tamil Tigers whose war chest was filled with two million dollars a month during the 13 year rule by the Liberals, allowing the Tamil diaspora collect those funds and not wanting to ban the Tamil Tiger terrorists when 30 other countries mainly in the west banned them.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ According to the UN, Tamil Tigers were the most ruthless of the terrorist groups in the world that perfected the art of suicide bombings with a hidden explosive jacket which killed India’s Rajiv Gandhi, Sri Lanka’s President Premadasa, and several government cabinet ministers.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ And when the Tamil Tigers were militarily defeated on 19 May 2009, Canada had difficulty to pat the back of Sri Lanka saying “Well done” when most of the Western and EU countries did so and our Foreign Minsitry put out a pathetic press release.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ All this not wanting to antagonize the Tamil Diaspora which has almost 100,000 votes to hand out in the Greater Toronto Area ridings.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Sure, the Conservatives banned the Tamil Tigers and the World Tamil Movement for collecting funds for the Tamil Tiger terrorist movement, but it was 13 years too late when their 22 million peoples’ right-to-life was hijacked by the Tamil Tiger surrupticiously supported by Jean Chretien’s Liberal Government. Let’s not forget what Canada did to Sri Lanka post 9/11 in terms of terrorism.
