Oct.29th. 2011It seeems somewhat mind boggling that the USA which has officially banned the LTTE has permitted the US State department officials in Washington to meet and discuss what they say is the current situation in Sri Lanka with the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) globally known as a former LTTE proxy which conducted many in depth propaganda campaigns against the Government of Sri Lanka during the height of the LTTE insurgency and even today is well known by many discerning analysts and investigators to still be a proxy for the LTTE albeit surreptitiously and where some of its hardliner still continue to pledge support towards a secessional state called Eelam.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Surely the USA is not that blinkered so as not to be aware of TNA policy and how it points to anti Sri Lankan Government activities at every given opportunity so what kind of game is this?

Perhaps the Government of Sri Lanka has been too lenient in dealing with the TNA who have forced themselves to be representatives of the Sri Lankan Tamil Commmunity with no entitlement to do so given the manner they supported the LTTE in the past and never having a justifiable nod from all the Tamils who have accepted the policies of the GOSL and trust the President of Sri Lanka rather that supportives of the LTTE with hardly a capacity to substantiate what they declare as a benevolent interest in the welfare of Sri Lankan Tamils when all they appear to want is a resurgence of the activities related to Eelam.There are individuals within their camp who openly admit to this and have proved through their rhetoric and body language to be exactly this.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Realistically they should not have been tolerated in any political arena based on how openly and blatantly they supported the LTTE and somewhere down the road after the LTTE were destroyed there seems to be some confusion about why they are not continued to be viewed as pro LTTE and dangerous towards a re-surgence of the terror group.

This is a point of utmost importance needing to be emphatically driven into the mindsets of US policy makers and administrators of the State Dept. unless they want to be viewed as bifurcated illussioniosts portraying the biggest double standard towards an entity sympathetic towards the Tamil Tigers where the Government of Sri Lanka needs to confront the USA towards asking for an explanation!

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ A delegation of MPs of the Tamil National Alliance ( TNA) are purported to have discussed the current situation in Sri Lanka with the US State Department officials in Washington but what right or mandate do they have towards this when Sri Lanka has a democratically elected Government and a respected Head of State who within his official capacity is making every effort to address the needs of all citizens and the Tamil issue somthing created by the TNA towards wrongful publicity in the ir ongoing effort to discredit the Government of Sri Lanka?.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It appears that the TNA having gained access to the Sri Lankan Parliamentary system as they were permitted nominations which probably should have been denied by virtue of their known LTTE sympathies! They now appear to be resorting to their usual shenanigans as in the past where agitations to incite Tamils towards their singlemost objective has now either found a legal platform which by itself has no legalities or this is some kind of charade where someone has bungled badly in being conciliatory to the TBA and eventually there could be a price to pay should the LTTE re-emerge.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The delegation led by R Sampanthan, leader of the TNA parliamentary group, is said to have been meeting State Department officials since 26 Oct, which appears very much to be a duplicitous action on the part of the US Government surely!! when Sri Lanka is a Sovereign Nation within Commonwealth and having NATO membership so what is the need to host a contentious group such as the TNA who have no entitlement to any Sri Lankan Government policy matters which makes the US actions questionable and perhaps even laughable!

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ One of the TNA representatives well known for his LTTE sympathies ~ one Mr Premachandran has said that “the international community, including US, Europe and India, had to exert pressure on Sri Lanka to address the humanitarian concerns and for political reforms” which have been the ongoing contentious modus operandi of what truly is a representation of disgruntled global Tamil diaspora which has the western world mesmerised by the lies and innuendo they have helped create in criminalised perspective about a very legitimate war against nation destructive insurgents who were legitimately put down while protecting sovereignity and territorial integrity and about time the USA began to look objectively and in support of the Government of Sri Lanka rather than entertain the adversaries and enemies of Sovereign Sri Lanka which what all this seems tantamount to! .

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ On the part of Sri Lanka, perhaps the GOSL would be better advised to view the TNA as enemies of the State, outlaw them also, have them thoroughly investigated for all their clandestine and surreptitious activities in support of LTTE objectives around the globe and take necessary steps to prevent them from what appears to be a final ditch effort to recussitate the LTTE who have been dead and buried as an active subversive entity for almost two years now!

For their part the USA should be very concerned if they are iinadvertently supporting a group that is known globally as a former front for the LTTE and have never denounced their alliances and allegiances with them which appear to be linked to pro-active global LTTE links!
