The Tamil Tiger fronts which keep mushrooming under different names and guises continue to conduct the various programs initially drawn up by the internationally designated terrorist movement known as the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) which are aimed at generating both propaganda and funds for their cause. On the 29th of October, 2011, the National Council of Canadian Tamils (NCCT) and the Tamil Youth Organization (TYO) launched the “ƒ”¹…”Pongu Thamil’ event which is referred to as a “ƒ”¹…”Tamil Upsurge’ at the legislature grounds in Queen’s Park, Toronto, where 2-3 thousand participants carried the Tiger flag which bears a snarling tiger and a ring of bullets with two bayonets sticking upwards, and pictures of the late megalomaniacal leader of the LTTE, Velupillai Prabhakran, whose violent life ended in a hail of bullets as he tried to break past Sri Lankan Army lines along with his erstwhile lieutenants, crack troops of the Anthony Brigade and a detachment of suicide bombers into the jungles of Mullativu across the Nandikadal Lagoon in Puthumatalan in May 2009.

The remaining rump of the LTTE in Canada and other western nations are seeking to revive the violent terror movement along with former cadres that fled from Sri Lanka in human smuggling boats, as they seek revenge for the military defeat that also resulted in the destruction or capture of the huge stockpile of weapons and explosives they procured with their funds over the last 2 ½ decades in their attempt to break up Sri Lanka by force of arms and create their mono-ethnic racist Tamil state of “Eelam”.

The next item in the Tamil Tiger calendar is the “Maaveerar Ceremonies” in November when they remember the various suicide bombers and other terrorist killers as Heroes or Great Men and Women who gave their lives in pursuit of their goal of a mythical separate state based on an invented history and non-existent claims. Upcoming “ƒ”¹…”Maaveerar’ events organized by the Tamil Student Associations of the various universities are as follows:

November 14th Ryerson University Tamil Students Association

November 15th Guelph Humber University Tamil Students Association

November 16th York University Tamil Students Association

November 17th University of Toronto Scarborough Tamil Students Association

November 18th University of Toronto Mississauga Tamil Students Association

November 20th North York High Schools Tamil Students

November 23rd Durham College/University of Ontario Institute of Technology Tamil Students Association

University of Toronto St. George Tamil Students Association

University of Waterloo Tamil Students Association

The university facilities are usually obtained by the respective Tamil student associations by seeking to stage Tamil Cultural Events, whereas in reality it is for the purpose of commemorating the lives of Tamil Tiger terrorists as clearly seen in the student websites as previously reported in the Canadian media. The university authorities and the state authorities should closely monitor these events and prevent the brainwashing of young minds that are encouraged to hero-worship suicide bombers and other terrorist killers, whilst at the same time raising funds for continuing the violence of the banned Tamil Tigers.

Other front organizations are also known to organize such “ƒ”¹…”Maaveerar’ events in public places similarly obtained under the guise of using the facilities for Tamil cultural shows, where it is the practice to withhold announcing the place of the event until the last minute to prevent other citizens objecting to the release of public facilities for terrorist causes.

  Yours sincerely,

  Mahinda Gunasekera

 Honorary President

Mahinda, nice article, please send this immediately for action to the RCMP, PM’s office etc. They have the power to put a stop to these as the LTTE is banned in Canada.
