The International Annual Convention (Jalsa Salana) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim JamaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢at in India concluded on 28 th December 2011 in Qadian with a powerful and faith inspiring address by the World Head of the community, Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, who addressed the event from the Baitul Futuh Mosque in London via satellite. The convention attracted over 17,000 people from around the world including Sri Lanka, whilst over 4,000 gathered in London for the concluding session.

Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad began his address by reminding the audience that the conventions held by the Ahmadiyya community were distinguished from others, because they were exclusively designed to enhance the religious and spiritual development of those who took part.

He said that this year thousands of Ahmadi Muslims from Pakistan had travelled for the event in an effort to lessen the sense of deprivation they felt due to the fact that Ahmadi Muslims were not permitted to host such conventions in Pakistan due to the anti-Ahmadiyya laws that continued to exist.

His Holiness spoke repeatedly about the state of the world, which he said stood on the brink of disaster and destruction due to the lack of justice and equality within society. He said that at such a crucial time, it was the task of Ahmadi Muslims throughout the world to guide mankind towards salvation. He said:

ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Today it is the responsibility of every Ahmadi Muslim to protect the world from destruction. This is because we have pledged allegiance to the Promised Messiah, Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian (peace be upon him) and by doing so we have sworn that we will always strive for the betterment of all humanity.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  His Holiness continued by saying that the Muslim world was today ravaged by sectarianism and internal discord. Only the Ahmadiyya Muslim JamaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢at could claim to be united and this unity was derived through its system of Khilafat.

His Holiness reminded the audience that the well-being of the future was being put at risk by the jealousies of today. The unjust policies and practices of world powers were fuelling extremism and terrorism. In this regard His Holiness said:

ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-True peace and true justice cannot be found anywhere in the world today. Instead worldly desires have increased beyond all limits. The wealth of others is looked at with envy and jealousy by people and by governments. In todayƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s world governments claim that they are fighting wars for the sake of peace and to save mankind from cruelty. Such claims are totally wrong and deceitful.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  The aims of such governments are simply to serve their own vested interests and to capture the wealth of other nations. Thus in the name of justice the blood of mankind is being spilled and in reaction to such injustice more and more terrorist groups are emerging.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  The Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community also used his address to counsel against all forms of extremism. He said that any form of extremism had to be outlawed, otherwise the consequences would be grave.

Ahmadiyya Head went on to say that:

ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Ahmadi Muslims can never, and will never, stop worshipping the One God and following the practice of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). However I say to those who believe in justice and equality, that if you yield to the extremists for the sake of apparent political benefit then your country will no doubt become immersed in strife. If you allow such groups to spread then it will lead to nothing but a moral decline.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚

His Holiness concluded by saying that there remained hope and this hope was based upon the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) which were of peace, brotherhood and mutual love. To achieve these aims, throughout his life the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) made sacrifice after sacrifice and in this era it is the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat who continue to follow in his footsteps. His Holiness said that all Ahmadi Muslims must therefore understand their responsibilities.

His Holiness said:

ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Is it enough for us to simply call ourselves Ahmadi Muslims? Will this be enough to develop peace in the world? No! To achieve peace we must first understand the pain that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) felt for all of mankind. Our every act and our every effort should be towards ending all forms of cruelty. By developing true justice we must do Jihad against cruelty itself. Our Jihad will not be conducted by any weapons or might but simply through our prayers for all of humanity. This is the only way that peace and love can develop in society.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚

Qadian Darul-Aman : Why Qadian is famous throughout the World?

In the early eighties of the nineteenth century, a devoted follower of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian, announced that he had been a constant recipient of divine revelation for some years and that God had informed him that the day of the renaissance of Islam was about to dawn and this revival would be brought about through him.

This voice was raised by Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian, a small town situated in a corner of the most backward province of India, lacking all facilities for communication with the rest of the world.

He had not received much formal education but had made a deep study of the Holy Qur`an and of the scriptures of other faiths and was richly endowed with knowledge of the profound eternal varities. In 1889 he claimed that he was the Reformer of the fourteenth century of the Islamic era and was the Mahdi and Promised Messiah, whose advent in the latter days had been predicted by the Holy Prophet of Islam, peace and blessings of God be upon him.

He also claimed, under divine direction, that in his advent were fulfilled the prophecies handed down in all the great faiths of the appearance of a great teacher in the latter days. In March 1889, he laid the foundation of the Ahmadiyya Jama’at in Islam.

He led a wholly blameless, pure and beneficent life, which followed in the minutest detail the pattern that had been established by the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him.

He founded a community, the members of which are required to illustrate in their daily lives all the social, moral and spiritual values inculcated by Islam, of which the highest example was furnished in the life of the Holy Prophet of Islam, peace and blessings of God be upon him.
They are drawn from every walk of life and are practical men conforming their lives and activities to the teachings of Islam. They do not reject the normal values of life and have set enviable examples of full, successful and righteous living.

The distinguishing feature of their lives is the upholding of the moral and the spiritual above the material and the physical in a pattern of beneficial coordination. As taught by Islam, they believe that faculties and capacities bestowed upon man by God Almighty are a precious bounty and must be developed and exercised at their proper time and occasion and are not to be suppressed or stultified.

The moral and spiritual code to which they seek to conform imposes no handicaps upon them. There have, by the Grace and Mercy of God, appeared among them persons possessing high eminence in almost every sphere of human life, conflict between Spiritual and Material Values.
The world today presents an ironic spectacle of the highest progress in science and technology, beyond man’s wildest dreams of even a half century ago, on the one side; and the rapid deterioration of moral and spiritual values on the other. This rift is widening daily, particularly in the West, and if it is not drastically narrowed and then eliminated at an early date, it would bring about universal disaster which might involve the end of civilization as it is conceived today.

At the root of the trouble is the utter lack of moral and spiritual leadership among the so-called advanced sections of humanity which have, in so many cases, become completely alienated from God. Belief in the possibility of communion with God, which is the very essence of spiritual life, has disappeared. Such halting and sporadic effort as put forth towards the stimulation of moral and spiritual values, is based on human speculation and is not derived from divine direction. This tendency is patent even among Muslim divines.

There is a failure to recognize that the only way of deliverance is through the establishment of man’s relationship with God. Today the only claimant of such a possibility is the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at which furnishes practical illustration of the truth of its claim. It is only through experience of such a relationship that a person can arrive at absolute certainty of faith in the Divine which can work the needed moral and spiritual revolution in the life of man.

This is the challenge that the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at presents to an incredulous world. It is the challenge of a revised, resurgent and invigorated Islam. True Salvation Islam is the essence of all truth. There is not a single fundamental verity that is not comprised in the Holy Qur`an. It requires faith in all the Prophets and in the revelation that was vouchsafed to them. It is thus a universal possession and a perfect guide.

Any one who makes it the law of his life and conforms to it down to the last particular, beholds God in this very life. This is true salvation and there is no other salvation beside it. That is the perfect fulfillment of life here and hereafter.

The Ahmadiyya Jama’at was founded 122 years ago. Today, its branches are strung around the globe. It enjoys the allegiance of people drawn from all regions of the earth and comprising all races and colours. Its membership is rapidly increasing all over the world. God revealed to the Promised Messiah (peace be on him): ” I Shall Carry Thy Message to the Corners of the Earth”.

True and realistic analysis of the problems the world is facing today is a manifestation of the fact that he, as a successor of Promised Messiah, represents true message of Islam, which was practiced by the Holy prophet of Islam. 5. Deen Says:

    Analyser,

I am so sorry that you seem to have no knowledge of the definition of a ‘Muslim’ . I kindly wish to advise you to study thoroughly from the Holy Quran and Hadiths, before commenting.

  6. Ibnu Ahmad Says:

    @analyser

Please tell me the definition of “A Muslim” before considering others as non-Muslims. I think you do not have proper knowledge about even the fundamental belief of Islam. You know what is the basic tenet of Islam. Who gave you the right to call Ahmadi Muslims as deviated group, Do you think ‘Jam Iyathul Ulama’ of Sri Lanka has such right? No, never.Their Fathwa on Ahmadis already thrown into dustbin. What a nonsense it would be such a edict by these present day Mullahs.
