Hon. Denis Lebel, PC., MP

Dear MinisterƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Denis Lebel:
Re: Misuse of Canada Post Service by Tamil Youth Organization – sympathizers of theƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE)ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ aka Tamil Tigers
No doubt, by now, you have read the letters of protest by the non-TamilƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Sri Lankan-Canadian community, about the personalized postage stamp that has been produced for the above organization, annoying, harming and forging a wedge between us Conservative supporters and the Government.
As you remember, we let these Tamil Tiger supporters rule the roost during April and May of 2009 when tens of thousands of these Tamils descended on Ottawa with a sea of ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ red Tamil Tiger flags and blocked the streets and harrassed the peace loving Ottawans, and you all and the police watchedƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ doing nothing to restore the civility and peaceƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ of the Ottawa tax payers lives, as you all believed that the Tamils had the freedom to do whatever they want to upholdƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ their rights to live in a free country.
Minister, let’s stop this rubbish and let’s have some sanity and not allow these Tamil Tiger supporters get away with such nonsense which is polorizing the Sri Lankan-Canadian community further.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  You have a responsibility for us non-Tamil Sri Lankan-Canadians too and we too have a vote to give you all, although theyƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ may not be stained with Sinhalese and MuslimƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ blood.
It is one thing for you all to go after the Tamil votes by looking away when they act with impunity to harm the good relations between two sister Commonwealth nations, and ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ it is another when such acts offendƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  the peace loving non-Tamil Sri Lankan-Canadians who have lived here as law abiding citizens, since ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ prior to letting the flood gates open for the Tamils to stream through afterƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the July 1983 riots in Colombo.
Let’s have some gumption and stop this rot.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  If the Canada Post Corporation has difficulty to decipher the motives of the imagesƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ that are being portrayed graphically when requested by the Canadian-Tamil community to be produced as stamps, then they should ask for help.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
To upholdƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  the harmony within the Sri Lankan-Canadian community, I am willing to be a volunteer to help the Canada Post Corporation to advice them what to produce asƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  personalized stamps and what not to produce when the requestsƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ come from the Canadian-Tamil community.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Let’s get our smarts up our sleeves and not let these TamilsƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ hoodwink the rest of the Canadians one more timeƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ by hiding behind the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
Sincerely,
Asoka Weerasinghe

This personalised postage stamping crap is either a takeoff from what transpired in France in similar vein as reported in the global media today or vice versa. France however has officially stated that it was not sanctioned and that anyone could create a personalised stamp which appears to be a flaw in the system and could well apply to Canada too. This however is not being said to shield the Canadian authorities whose blind eye mentality and indifference to Tamil Tiger issues based upin the dependency of votes from the community had been going on for a long time befor the present eyewash of the Conservatives who double standardise the issue to appease certain pro Tamil activists currying favour with them according to reliable sources.Hopefully there will not be a price to pay for Canadians in the long run through the tolerance of this kind of activity which undoubtedly is linked to terrorist supportive groups which seem to escape the blinkered authorities at times!!!
