To IPKF General A.K. Mehta

Dear Sir:

Reference the statement by retired Maj. General A.K.Mehta disputing the GOSL’s position regarding the post-war military presence in the Northern Province based on unnamed sources, the simple question that should be asked of Mehta is why it is any of his (India’s) concern as to how many Sri Lankan security forces are stationed in any part of Sri Lanka. Does India refer to Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh or anyone else in the region when it sends it’s soldiers to various parts of India? It is the height of Indian arrogance that Mehta should even think of much less call for an explanation from the Defence Secretary of Sri Lanka on any matter that pertains only to Sri Lankan security. It would be relevant to remind Mehta that it was the Indian military that trained the LTTE terrorists to suit Indian ambitions in Sri Lanka and that he came with the IPKF when the India could not control the very terrorists they developed. Does he see potential for another suchƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  plan? Is he hoping for re-emergence of LTTE problems in Sri Lanka spearheaded by Tamil Nadu that he is counting how many SLA personnel are stationed in the Northern Province?

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Regarding Mehta’s comment on the possibility of releasing those ex-LTTE cadres facing legal action,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ again the question is why it is of concern to him. If they are Sri Lankan LTTE cadres they need to be dealt with according to Sri Lankan law, that is as it should be or does Mehta believe that they should be tried in India? ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ DoesƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ he recognize some of theseƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ LTTE cadres as those that were trained by the Indian military?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

The IPKF was a failed exercise by India and the Maj. General played a leading role inƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ it. Since then he has been trying to pose as an “authority” on Sri Lankan military matters perhaps to erase from his memory the debacle of the IPKFƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  in Sri Lanka. It is also possible that he is today, as he was then, merely carrying out India’s grand plan and providing support to the continued efforts of the Indian Government to interfere and dictate to Sri Lanka. It is time that the defence establishment in Sri Lanka as well as the GOSL concentrate on the security of the country which is still under threat by the remnants of the LTTE overseas and Tamil Nadu which is supported by the central government and send a clear message via a response to Mehta’s uncalled for statements, that Sri Lankans are well aware that India’s attitude and actions have not been that of a friendly neighbour but of an adversary andƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ that Sri Lanka has the sovereign right to position it’s military anywhere in Sri Lanka and in any numbers that it sees fit without dictation from India. It is time to remind the likes of Mehta that the days of “viceroy” Dixit are no more as he seems to be in a time warp.

Yours truly,

In the first place this fool should realise that NEITHER HE HIMSELF NOR THE INDIAN GOVT ARE NO AUTHORITY TO SPEAK OF HOW TO MAINTAIN SRI LANKA’S SECURITY as its the Indian Traitors WHO TRAINED THE LTTE CADRES IN INDIA ON THE PRETEXT OF MAINTAINING REFUGEE CAMPS.
The world order has a certain norm that ONE REAPS WHAT HE SEW and Rajiv Ghandi the masters behind training terrorists on their soil to DISRUPT AND DESTABILISE SRI LANKA got what they deserve from a LTTE SUICIDE BOMBER.
If an atom of a brain exists in these fools mind, they would never think of speaking of Sri Lankan matters in India or elsewhere!!!

Jay !!! An Atom of brain does not exist. He is another INDIAN DONKEY BRAYING FOR HIS SUPPER.

The LTTE gave him a good run when he came to Sri Lanka in 1986 and he must thank god that no suicide bombers visited him after his return to India. Jayalalithaa, Karunanidhi et al seems to have brought him under their wings. And obviously TNA would have influenced him. Then ofcourse the LTTE Rump would have made a good DONATION to him to do all the talking.

We can still trust the president. Well said Mr President.

In the strongest reaction yet to India’s contentious support to a US sponsored resolution at the UNHRC against Sri Lanka earlier this year, President Mahinda Rajapaksa has broken his silence by calling upon the Indian government to have a relook at its dealings with its neighbours.

In a freewheeling interaction with TOI at Temple Trees in Colombo, his first full-length interview since India’s vote for the resolution in March, Rajapaksa suggested that India could be abdicating its leadership role in the region.

Rajapaksa, in fact, did not fully agree with India’s contention that it had helped tone down the resolution against alleged human rights abuses, saying that if India had continued with its support to Sri Lanka, there may not have been any resolution against his country at all.

“Any good intentions and actions are always appreciated. But I must add that if India stood by us and supported Sri Lanka’s request for more time and space, who knows, there may not have been a resolution at all,” the president said when told how Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had himself intervened to make the resolution “non-intrusive”.”
