India had not beenƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ a real friend of Sri Lanka .ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ This fact became evident with the coming of Mrs. Indra Ghandhi as the Prime Minister .ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ SheƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ employed the RAW to initiate wide spreadƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ sporadicƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ anti Sinhala activities by selected Tamil youth from the ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ North, which resulted in back lashes from the Sinhala in the south against the unfortunate Tamils in the south.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It was under Indra Gandhi that camps were set up in Tamil Nadu to train Prabhakaran andƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ other Tamil youth in terrorism.
These ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-riotsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ were utilisedƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ to create the Sinhala Tamil dissension and provoke Tamil political leaders toƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ organise separate political parties for the Tamil Community, and make a hue and cry that the Sinhala majority is discriminatingƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ against theƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Tamils minority. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Though the TamilsƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ make out that the Sinhala majorityƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ were responsible for the riotsƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ there were the excesses by some Tamils.
In 1958 for instance it was ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ a Tamil mob that cut off ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the breasts of a Sinhala woman and killed her in Panadura , which ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ resulted in the wide spread riot.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ In 1983 it was the killing of 13 Sinhala policemen that started the backlash in the south. The latter was undoubtedly,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ masterminded by the RAW to start off the terrorism by the already trained group of Tamil youth let loose in the North.
ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-India aided and abetted terrorism, and repeatedly violated Sri Lanka’s sovereignty. Its High Commissioner during the period dictated terms to Sri Lanka.
While the Vadamarachchi operation was on, the Indian Envoy Mr. J.N. Dixit had met President Jayawardene and bluntly told him that India will not stand by idly and allow Jaffna to fall into the hands of the Army, and if the military operation continued, there could be unforeseen consequences. Asked to explain what these ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”unforeseen consequences’ could be, Dixit had told Jayawardene that military aid may be given by India to the LTTE leading to the possible dismemberment of Sri Lanka.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚
This in turn encouraged the Tamil political leaders of the Vellala Caste who always kept the low caste Tamils under their thumb assuring their leadership in the Tamil Community to spear head a moment calling for parity of status to both the Sinhala and the Tamil Communities.
After the assassination of Indra GhandhiƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ by her own body guardsƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Beant Singh and Satwant Singh on the 31st October, 1984ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ her son Rajiv Gandhi took office.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ As he may have been advised of the intentions of her mother vis ƒÆ’†’ƒ”š‚ vis Sri Lanka, he followed her policies with the intension of completing what her mother had started.
He went further, when Sri Lanka Armed Forces were about to finish off with terrorism he sentƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the Indian Air Force to intervene and followed it with a peace accord, and sent an Indian Peace Keeping Force.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Along with it he imposed on Sri Lanka the 13 Amendment prepared by Indians to the Sri Lanka Constitution.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The Indian Peace Keeping Force completely failed in its effort ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ even to temporarily subdue the Sri Lanka terrorists, they finally left having accomplished nothing but aggravating the Communal problem and forcing on us a thirteenth amendment that has caused us innumerable problems.
Finally ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Rajiv Gandhi too followed his motherƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s fate, but in worst circumstances,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ being blown up by a the ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ terrorists suicide bomber on the 21 May, 1991, an agent of the terrorists ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ who he had ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ thought was his duty to help.
After Rajiv Gandhi , it was his Italian widow Sonia Gandhi nee Antonia Albina Maino who took the reins of the Indian Congress Party which led the UPA.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ In May, 2004 ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Sonia Gandhi movedƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Manmohan SinghƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ to be theƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Prime Minister of India. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Having come into power Manmohan Singh, ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ as the Prime Minister of India with Sonia Gandhi watching from behind continues to spread the Gandhian venom on Sri Lanka.
Through out the latter part of theƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ war against the terrorists, India pretended to beƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ a friend of Sri Lanka whileƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ from behind tried every thing it could to help the terrorists win its war against the Sri Lanka Armed Forces.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚« It was when late Major General Janaka Perera was the Commander of Jaffna, that 40,000 soldiers were stranded in Jaffna at the mercy of a possible terrorist attack due to lack of transport. The Indian Government with whom the then President of Sri Lanka negotiated for ships to transport the stranded army refused to provide the requested means of transport. The army however, with the support provided by the Government of Pakistan halted the terrorist march towards Jaffna..ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚
When India refused to sell us weapons, they also warned us not to by weapons from China.
During the ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ latter part of the successful military operations against the terrorists India was more concerned about its political interest in Tamil Nadu, and sent Indian Government Ministers to Sri Lanka to negotiate a Cease Fire with the terrorists.
When the terrorists started flying theirƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ planes, India offered to Sri Lanka a second hand radar equipment operated by Indians which could not detect the low flying planes. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The Italian Sonia Gandhi nee Antonia Albina Maino,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ undoubtedly influenced by the International Community demanded the Indian government not to sell offensive weapons to Sri Lanka.
As far as the Sri Lankans are concerned the Government of India had never shown a friendly concern over ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ theƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ atrocitiesƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ being committed by the terrorists in Sri Lanka against its Armed Forces or its people, or its Tamil people- about who India is very concerned now.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Even today the Indian Government offers aid to the North and EastƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ leaving out the south.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Immediately after the elimination of the terrorists this supposed to be ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-friendlyƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ IndiaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ hastened to open up Consulates in the North and South hoping to keep in check the influence of China.
Their project to construct 50,000 housesƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ for the IDPs are still a non-event.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ But they are now talking of constructing 1000 houses in the North andƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ 4000 for the Tamils of IndianƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Origin in the estate sector.
The last thrust of the sward to Sri Lanka by India our ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-pseudo friendƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ was at the last Human Rights Council session in Geneva.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ China, Russia, Pakistan and IranƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ would not even have dreamed of doing what India did at the Geneva Human Rights Council that unhappy day ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the 22 March , 2012ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ we will never forget. “One has to weigh pros and cons. What we did was in line with our stand on Sri Lanka. We do not want to infringe on the sovereignty of Sri Lanka but concerns should be expressed so that Tamil people can get justice and lead a life of dignity,” said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ If India was a real friend it could have abstained from voting .
The excuse that Manmohan Singh gave was,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-India is inclined to vote in favour of the resolution.” He had been warned that if India did not vote against Sri Lanka, his key ally, the DMK, would pull out of the government. It was reported that, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-China has thrown its weight behind Sri Lanka, saying it is against any country putting pressure on others in the name of rights violations. The Chinese Foreign Ministry said Sri Lanka and its people were capable of dealing with their own affairs.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ India and China of the two who is the friend of Sri Lanka ?
How could the PresidentƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ or any Minister of the Government of Sri Lanka still go to IndiaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ calling it our ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-bestƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ friend ?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Unless of course there is a secret pact between India and Sri Lanka the ordinary people are not aware of.
India receives the President of Sri Lanka or its Ministers giving them the right hand and at the same time receives the TNA ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ giving them the left hand. The Central Government of India has not the guts to put Karunanidhi or Jayalalitha in their place explaining to them the elements of political expediency.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Both Karunanidhi the poet lauriat pour Sri Lanka terrorists, and JayalalithaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the third rate film actressƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ have not the brains to be real politicians.
They have to be taught what politic is all aboutƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ and howƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ a sovereign stateƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ should deal with other Sovereign States.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Central Government of India would not do that because TamilNadu is an excuse for them toƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ break up the unitary status ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ of Sri Lanka and ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ manipulate for its political and economic decline in all sorts of ways.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ That is ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ what India always wanted to do openly since Indra Ghandhi became the Prime Minister of India, though our political leaders seem to have their own reason to keep on calling India ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ our friend.
Both the Central Government ofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ India and itsƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-headacheƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ the TamilNadu speak for the well being of the Tamils in Sri Lanka, but they would not stop the Tamil Nadu fishermen from fishing in our waters causing hardship to Sri Lanka Tamil fishermen who are trying to live from the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-catchƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ made meagre by the Tamil Nadu fishermen.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Even the TNA stealing the votes of these Tamil fishermen of the North do not seem to bother, as they are more concerned about political issues which is the last thing the Sri Lanka fishermen have to worry about.
India could have told the TNA long ago when Sampanthan and his goons ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ pay theirƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ regular curtsies to India to complain about their problems with the Government of Sri Lanka, that they should start a dialogue with the President of Sri Lanka and come to terms ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ with him and his government rather than come on bended knees to Manmohan Singh who is not the Prime Minister Sri Lanka, and therefore ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ of TNA.
It is only now India is waking up to the reality of the foolishness of the TNA parliamentarians, andƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ has apparently decided to ask them to settle problems in Sri Lanka with the President and government of Sri Lanka.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It was reported that,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-The Indian government is to exert pressure on the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) to fully commit itself to the political process towards arriving at a viable solution. It is reliably learnt that New Delhi had intimated the necessity towards pushing the TNA towards supporting a viable political solution in Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦..ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚
It was also reported that, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦..The TNA plans to take up the Jaffna High Security Zone issue with Indian leaders and request them to urge the Lankan government to dismantle the HSZs in the North. TNA Spokesman and Jaffna District MP Suresh Premachandran told The Island yesterday that his party had been invited to meetings with Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Foreign Minister S. M. Krishna and the issues to be taken up with New Delhi had not been decided on, but certainly the HSZs would be discussed. ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚
Why should TNA a political party with parliamentarians in the Prliament of Sri Lanka crawl on all fours to meet Manmohan Singh to complain about the HSZ ?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Sri Lanka is not a Provincial State like Tamil Nadu of India. It is time that some type of action is taken to abolish the TNA as a political party.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ TNA is the stumbling block for a positive reconciliation process and the establishment of a Communally united Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka should develop more culturalƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ties with China, ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ and Pakistan ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ as ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ friends and neighbours than with India.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ That is the only way to rid ourselves of theƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ patronising attitude of India andƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ to thwart IndiaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s determination to perpetuate the Communal dissension in Sri Lanka and if possible contribute to partition Sri Lanka.
India may be ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-a friendƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ of the political leaders of Sri Lanka, but the people of Sri Lanka will never accept India as a friend because India is simply not a friend of Sri Lanka.

Mahinda must step down now and make way for Gotabaya, who will give a good hiding to Indians. Mahinda has reached his level of incompetency and it shows in many areas, unfortunately, at this crucial juncture.

Sri Lanka should replace all top leaders who wet their pants when war crimes are mentioned.
There are many who qualify. Mahinda, Basil, Fonseka and Gotabhaya are of no use to the nation anymore if the mentioning of war crimes makes them wet their pants. I sincerely hope they are not so because otherwise indicates their use by date is over.
Out of fear, they give in to India, UNHRC, TNA, all dirty and violent yet loyal thuggish politicians and even to Indian spiritual crooks. This is a national disgrace.
Giving “Tamils” the level of dignity and devolution as demanded by India reverses and ridicules the military victory. Tamils have enough dignity and political power in the country in proportion to their democratic worth. Nothing more should be given.

what independence does a country have that lives on debt? The country is run by party loyalists, relatives who are incompetent to the core that makes matters worse. The only mechanism that functions is a bribe not reason, justice or rules. Under these circumstance only foreign capital rules the day as seen when stamp duty was waived for the Indians and chinese who bought land in colombo by gazette notification. The country has lost her autonomy , the rest is all propaganda.

Dilrook, you touched an excellent subject. “INDIAN SPIRTUAL CROOKS” They come every year and do their POOJA and have public meetings to collect money. Then they go and meet MR. Example SRI SRI Ravi Shankar. last year he did not pay any TAX took all the collected money out of the country. If the TAX man complains, then he would loose his job. This Shankar punk even visited Prabhakeran, then, later visited MR and told him to stop the military advance.

Problem with Sinhala is that they thought that they had a country all the time and was satisfied with it. What they did not know is that they had a constitution but the constitution could be excecuted only after May 19th 2009! If one can drill this into all the Sinhala heads then who the enemy is; and may be they will understand.

Yea thanks to the Old Fool JR – what a mess we are in now. He wanted us to be subservient to Indians. He wanted to Angllise Lankadeepa, and engage in lip servce to English. The reason for Gota is, he has the guts to do and say what others wouldn’t dare to say without fear – everyone agrees that these guys are rotten to the core. Sinha+ helaya even the ordinary man is corrupt in one way or another. This doesn’t necessarily mean taking just bribes but in most ways corrupt – alcoholism, licking the backside of Politicos, insulting Buddhism, etc. Dhamma talks goes from dawn to dusk with no effect. Listeners do listen but never practice, in fact practicing Hinduism conducting Poojas and invoking Gods for favours, right under the Bo tree. What a mess we are in. Where is the leadership we need to steer the country in the path of liberation from adversaries? If we consider Sri Lanka’s history from Balangoda human era (B.C 15000) ever since except once I never seen India behaved as a friend of Sri Lanka. Only exception is during Emperor Asoka’s era 269 BC to 232 BC his son Mahinda and Daughter Sangamitta came as Buddhist delegates to Sri Lanka. It was more than 2240 years back.
We got heaps from India’s tamil state “invasions, massacres, wars, destructions of our Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa civilisations, looting, expansionism, etc are the gifts we got from our best friend. Throughout our history we can consider south Indian tamil nadu state as curse of Sri Lanka and did more massacres and damages than European invaders to Sri Lanka.
In 1980’s country which trained several thousands of tamil terrorists, financed, provided military knowhow and weapons and propaganda to tamil terrorists against Sri Lanka cannot anyhow consider as a best friend. Indian forces invaded our country and forced J.R.J to sign a pact under curfew. India forced us to amend our constitution for utter failure Provincial council system. All these they did for tamil racist separatist agenda to divide Sri Lanka and capture north and eastern provinces and Trinco harbour to control South Asian sea route and 2/3 of our ocean resources.
As a neighbouring country we have to have diplomacy with India and it should be reciprocated but for any reason we should not crawl to India. Follow Cuba as an example. Though Yankees are most powerful nation Cuba never crawls.

If the real impact and significance of the thirty year war against Tamil separatism has sunk into the minds of our leaders, the past three years was more than ample time to squash all territorial and homeland pretensions by Tamil parties and groups, both in secular garb and in religious robes.
Thirty years is the time for the flowering of a generation. What does this mean? Just that an entire generation of the country’s youth, mainly Sinhalese, spilled their life blood on that soil still shamelessly claimed as Tamil homeland. A homeland is where one lives and dies. It is the blood of this entire generation of our youth that cries out in anguish that its sacrifice be honoured. That sacrifice was made to nullify the homeland myth…to reclaim that territory for sharing among all who spilled the life blood of their youth on it. That claim is sealed by the blood of an entire generation of our youth: the blood of the flower of this nation. And what is a nation but its youth, its future.
When the gravity of that sacrifice invades our awareness, other youth problems, whether education, employment or whatever else, pale away into utter insignificance. If this does not impress our bankrupt, insensitive, self seeking political leaders, what the hell would.

India can be a friend or a foe, depending on what needs to be done for INDIA’S SURVIVAL. On the part of SRI LANKA, we have to do what needs to be done for OUR SURVIVAL as an undivided nation, while being considerate toward India’s needs. Like it or not, both Sri Lanka and India are caught up in East/West politics, a world economic system & Globalisation. We in Sri Lanka cannot afford to have enmity with India – India is too close for comfort ! We can let India know that we are aware of the facts.
Some points to bear in mind :
* Let us not forget that repeated Tamil and other South Indian INVASIONS happened in our history.
* India’s (and Tamil Nadu) Caste system makes Tamils & others flee those areas. Sri Lanka happens to be close to Tamil Nadu.
We on our part must make sure that no illegal migrants ever enter Sri Lanka. Deport all existing illegal migrants. Illegal migrants form a large slice for Separatists in Sri Lanka.
* In 1983, the Cold War politics impinged on India as well as Sri Lanka. Since JRJ went far west, the larger power close to India made/used India to pull Lanka back to a neutral position via the 1983 riots, in which Indian envoy J.N. Dixit & Labor Minister, Cyril Mathew played their parts. Sri Lanka cannot go too far west nor too far east, and India is in the same position. Both countries are ‘straight jacketed’ into a centered, non-aligned position, like it or not.
* Tamil (especially diaspora & ltte sympathisers) people are being used to sway Sri Lanka (& India because of sheer size, to a lesser extent) east or west. Some Tamils are using the opportunity to line their own pockets and acquire some power in the west. Few minutes ago I was watching a TV news item which showed our political heavy weights including the housing minister taking part in the 50,000 housing progrmme somewhere in the North. This is a serious matter. The total population of the north is around one million. Taking 5 persons per house, these 50,000 houses would provide housing for about 250,000 and that is a quater of the population. Ninety percent of these people vote for TNA and are pro LTTers. Why did GOSL allow indians to get involved to such an extent in this hostile area?. India got the very same people to revolt agaist us and we paid a heavy price. How many Indians would come to build these houses?. They will never go back.
Sirima was fooled by Indians to give citizenship to 600,000 Indians and JRJ gave cizenship to the rest thinking they will always vote for UNP.
Sri Lanka is not any politician’s dowry to give away to Indians.

What Aloy says is true. Sri Lanka completed resettling Tamils last month. So why is India building 250,000 more houses for Tamils?
These are for new Indian illegal immigrants. The right thing to do is to deport them but our leaders have no backbone to do so.
In 1964 and 1974 Sirimavo granted citizenship to Indian illegals. In 1985 at the Thimpu Talks JR was also forced to do it. Sri Lanka didn’t get anything in return. Now Rajapakse joins this group. There were plenty of Tamil Nadu Tamils along with Sri Lankan Tamils who got trained in ltte camps ! Saw quite a few Indian Tamils (drugged) in Colombo, with our own eyes. We know the difference between Indian & Lankan Tamils.

Without racism, discrimination, bashing, insults all Lankans should treat each othe with compassion and love, even for “we tamils”. Law and order establishment, honesty, trust must be restored before you think of conquering South India. Conquer your mind first.
Lingam Malli knows that most “we tamils” did not move from Wellawatte, little Jaffna.

However, Tamil people of Sri Lanka who suffer/suffered under CASTE DISCRIMINATION from their own TAMIL COMMUNITY should not paste the blame for that on others in Sri Lanka.
It is the infighting among the Tamils themselves over CASTE that spills over and engulfs others in Sri Lanka and in the end the Tamils get together and feel justified to call for ‘Separation’ which leads to riots (1983) & war (30 yrs), which leads to Tamils going abroad as Refugees. Then from abroad, they buy politicians for ‘Separating’ of Sri Lanka to form Eelam. This is the Cycle of events we want to break.
The Caste mindset must be removed and everyone move forward, slowly and carefully, in trust and care for each other.
Sri Lanka, even though a poor country, gives equal rights to free Education & Free Health Care to all her citizens, which is more than most of the developed world gives their citizens.
For that is it not right that Sri Lankans expect some honest gratitude from the Tamil community ?

Exactly so. But lots of people have not seen the allegorical spiritual story (Mind, Heart & Atman) in the Ramayana story. Generally the ordinary people look at the Ramayana as an exciting epic story, with Ravana of Lanka as the bad person, and Rama & Sita as husband & wife.
Similarly, lots of people have not seen the actual inner story in the story of “Discrimination” of Tamils of Lanka. That is why it is necessary to spell out what happened and all find the strength to overcome this vicious cycle of death & destruction.

I agree. They should come out in public and reveal publically how India fooled them with hopes. In fact I have recently met many promoinent Tamil friends who show their gratitude. Unfortunately they are not in big numbers as they supported Velupundey Prabhakaran. May be Andy Malli should organise !

I agree that simple wisdom is better than referring to epic stories. I brought out the Ramayana story only because Andy referred to it.
The Ramayana is taken very seriously as true story by simple folk there. We ought to understand the simple folk of our neighbor, India.
The other later epic story of India, the Mahabharata, has the Bhagavad Gita as its centre piece, this time with human being Arjuna & Krishna, God. Fortunately for us all, the story is set in India itself (Kurukshethra), and Sri Lanka is not involved.

Even I have recent visted friends from Vani said they can not believe the way SL forces are helping in local people to bring back to their live back to normal !!!
All these hard work can bring a permanat solution to our Mother lanka only by small change in your sinhala sakotharaya mind ! that trust us , onlt trust us !!! We will not dividite this lanka for thousand years !! (even We agrred a caules in permant solution pack if any party or person ask separation will get capital banisment(deadsentance) )

There is always diversity in this world. Love and compassion unite the diverse world while greed and hatred divide and distroy causing suffering. Even suffering is common to all and by understanding suffering, love and compassion is born.
Sinhala and Tamil people should think about suffering undregone by both races due to hatred , mistrust created by a few and greed helping to spread it. Once everyone understand that, unity will happen.

We both community suffered enough , We few luck bustard (I mean Tamil incl me)had used those innecent Tamil & Sinhalese ! We never have & will get good sleep in our life !!!
for our Karma We should do some thing , We need a good genieven Chinhala leder (it could be Mahintha Rajapaksa , I do not know )! who can find permant solution for these two community with out any short sider thinging !!! I am so confident whole Tamil following including former hard core Eelam follower !!!
