The National Sailing Championship of Sri Lanka, organised by the Yachting Association of Sri Lanka will get underway on November 3. and 4. at the Colombo/Panadura (Sea Venue).

Now for the first time ever kitesurfing in competition”¦the new trendsport. 2016 part of the olympic games is the discipline of race for both men and women.

 

Kitesurfing connects sailing, windsurfing and wakeboarding.

A big power kite, controlled by a line-system (bar) pulls the kiter with a kite board over the water.

Fast races”¦high jumps and different tricks are possible with the board or in the air.

There are different kinds of competition:

Race – Who will be the first to complete the parcours? ( olympic discipline )

Freestyle – Huge amount of tricks, many of them from the world of wake boarding.

 Big Air – very (!) high jumps

 Speed – Who is the fastest kiter?

 Airstyle – Big Jumps combined with nice tricks

 Obstacle – Freestyle with the use of kickers and sliders

At the National Sailing Championship of Sri Lanka, organised by the Yachting Association of Sri Lanka, on November 3 and 4 at the Colombo/Panadura (Sea Venue) on sunday at 01.00 p.m. there will a demonstration competition, a show-event in kitesurfing, organized by AAA Kiteboarding Company and the Yachting Association of Sri Lanka together with national sri lankan and foreign kiters.

Everybody who is interested in this new sport,shouldn’t miss this date.

Nexto the show there will be an information area of AAA Kiteboarding Company and the International Kite Organisation (IKO).

Every visitor can see kite equipment and talk with the sportsmen and instructors”¦. or have their first experience with a small trainer kite on the beach.

3 female kiters from Sri Lanka / Foreigners
