India is an ENEMY and not a FRIEND

For the second time in succession, India has voted againstƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Sri Lanka at the UNHRCƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  for the resolution brought by USA and its allies against Sri Lanka. Let our PresidentƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  at least now realize that India is not a friend and for that matter Pakistan is a sincere friend. Of course, she has never been a friendƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  who trained LTTE, the most notorious and brutal terrorists outfit in the world LTTE to set against Sri Lanka.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  We reminisce the true courage President Mahinda RajapaksaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  had at the last stages of the war against LTTE terrorist without bowing down America, UK, France and other western allies to stop the war but continued until LTTE was completely annihilated. Of course, our Defence Secretary Gotabaya ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”s unstinted and unvarying support facilitated Presidents task to go ahead with the war. But unfortunately, since of late we see the gigantic courage President had gradually diminishing over the years specially in relation with India. Too much of appeasement on India is very visible. President Rajapaksa has become naƒÆ’†’ƒ”š‚¯ve (though still locally popular)ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  and unable to stop Indianising Sri Lanka. Over the years, the GoSL has been tying diplomatically to be a friend but Indian Government has prostituted our friendliness into timidity and acting as an arch enemy and playing a double game. ItƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s high time Sri Lanka understood that India is not a friend and took constructive steps to show our strength. For the second time, India showed that they have no faith the way Sri Lanka is heading. If so then why the hell are theyƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  trying to bring more and moreƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  investments to Sri Lanka if the condition is not conducive to good governance. Sri Lanka is already Indianised.

What moral right that India has to blame Sri Lanka for human rights violation when half a billion Indians are deprived of basic human needs like shelter, water and sanitation. It was reported that half a billion people donƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t have toilet facilities. (reminds me of the reality film ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Slum Dog Millionaire). When few of the richest in India live in luxury, the poorest of the poor live together with cows, water buffaloes, goats pigs and dogs in way side shanties. This is common scene in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar state. I suppose other states are no different other than Haryana State. Should we remind India of the human rights violations in Jammu-Kashmir borders?

ItƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s time we treated India as a foe and not a friend. We need to take some bold decisions mentioned herein to make India realize that we are no more a scapegoat for their internal Tamil Nadu politics.

  • Close the Indian consular office in Jaffna immediately;
  • Stop accepting dangling carrots from India for our development. Surely Sri Lanka can survive without their self motivated help;
  • Stop any future Indian investments flow into Sri Lanka and ask the current investors like IOC, Palali airort construction etc to pack up and leave the country;
  • Boycott all Indian imports including dahl & sugar etcƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  and import from other countries even at a price.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
  • Stop importing Tamil Nadu films;
  • Stop visa over the counter to Indians who travel to Sri Lanka (many of them are not genuine tourists but who cross the borders from Tamil Nadu (TN) to seek Kallathoni work( working illegally). MakeƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  obtaining visa difficult and hard and follow the Indian immigration agonising practice in granting Visa to Sri Lankan even to the pilgrims who go on pilgrimage);
  • ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Stop import of Maruti cars and instead encourage Japanese small cars by reducing import duty;
  • Ask the Centre Government to take action against Tamil Nadu who harass and assault BuddhistƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  pilgrims including Buddhist priests and Catholic pilgrims who visit Chenai;
  • Lastly all steps should be taken by the GoSLƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  to stop India taking over our economy gradually.

    >> Our president should declare he is NOT a relative of Endia and Endia is just another country among 200 countries.

  2. Voice123 Says:

    Agreed. MR/GL should retract that shameless “relative” comment.

  3. Senevirath Says:

    Then how can they go there to worship kovils?

  4. Voice123 Says:

    Senevirath, they can worship in kovils but the swamys will wash the kovil after because a presence of a non caste Hindu constitutes ritual pollution. Same if a Dalit, Muslim or Christian visited a kovil in India.

    I wholeheartedly supports Malins comments. We by all means must stop calling India a friend. We must start showing the world all the atrocities done by IPKF and L.T.T.E to our Motherland during thirty years of war. What they showed to the world was not authentic but we have so many vedeos which was real and true. Our Government must continuously show the world and to our own citizens what those animals did during the war killing our people in cold blood and destroying our economy and infrastructure.

    We must encourage all the Tamils who escaped their brutality to come forward and say to the world the truth about India and their terrorist relatives L.T.T.E. They too suffered like us torchered, harassed, kidnapped etc. India acted like a big bully and harassed us without any respect for our sovereignty. Biggest outdoor toilet is India and it’s smelly. Down with India and boycott what ever Indian to show our displeasure with dirty India.

  6. Sri Rohana Says:

    India is our no 1 enemy that’s true. But No 2 is U.K and U.S.A. So we have to attack all three enemies with the same stick. But U.S.A is no 1 enemy to entire world. U.K is hunting dog of U.S.A.
    U.K the killers of our freedom fighters and destroyers of our envirnment and ecology. Greedy Anglo Americans and their slave indians.

  7. Lorenzo Says:

    Only one resolution against SL and 13 countries voted for SL.

    6 resolutions against Israel the next day and ONLY USA voted against!!!

    Good for bloody USA. Got its OWN medicine SIX TIMES!!

    A report that calls for boycotting West Bank settlement products and states that Israel could be brought before the International Criminal Court for Jewish building over the pre-1967 lines was approved Friday by the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva.

    Only the United States voted against the report, which was penned by a three-member fact-finding mission.

    Speaking before the vote the US said that it was troubled by the council’s biased and disproportionate focus on Israel.

    Although the status quo is not sustainable and the US is committed to resolving the Israeli Palestinian conflict, it does not believe that reports such as the one completed by the fact-finding mission can help achieve that objective, the US said.

    Israel cut its ties with the council when it formed the fact-finding mission last year.

    The report stated that Israel had an obligation under international law not to transfer its population into the Palestinian territories, as it had done by constructing West Bank settlements.

    “The Rome Statute establishes the ICC’s jurisdiction over the deportation or transfer, directly or indirectly, by the occupying power of parts of its own population into the territory it occupies, or the deportation or transfer of all or parts of the population of the occupied territory within or outside this territory,” the report stated.

    The report explained that settlements violate international human rights laws and International Humanitarian Law.

    Private companies that do business with the settlements also bear responsibility not to violate those laws, the report said. It asked them to take “all necessary steps” to ensure that they were respecting human rights, “including by terminating their business interests in the settlements.”

    The council also passed another five resolutions against Israeli actions over the pre-1967 lines. These resolutions were filed under Agenda Item 7, which mandates that the council debate Israeli actions in the West Bank, east Jerusalem and the Golan Heights.

    The United States, which alongside Israel opposes Agenda Item 7, voted against all the resolutions.

    Other resolutions dealt with Israel’s military incursion into Gaza in December 2008 and January 2009, Israeli settlement building and Palestinian human rights including the right to self-determination. All the resolutions had near unanimous support in the council.

    The resolution that members appeared to take issue with was one that called on Israel to withdraw from the Golan Heights. It passed by 29 votes, but there were 17 abstentions. Only USA voting against it.

    Although the council dealt with human rights issues in Syria, Iran and Myanmar, it adopted more resolutions against Israel than any of those specified countries.

    Thank you.

    Freedom form Indian imperialists and Indian colonial parsites.

  9. A. Sooriarachi Says:

    When the LTTE terrorists, momentarily took the upper hand in the Jaffna peninsular and our armed forces were surrounded, India instead of supplying the requested weapons to SrLanka, they offered to evacuate the SriLankan forces which would have allowed LTTE to take over the region. This certainly is not what a friend would do and Pakistan with Chinese backing demonstrated what a true friend would do in such circumstances, when they supplied in double quick time, what the SriLankan Govt wanted for its forces. Thanks to these true friends, the SL army led by Janake Perera pushed back the terrorists, probably displeasing India.
    Even today, all the Indian development aid is channelled to the Tamil majority areas, and the houses they construct are given only to Tamils, clearly showing a hidden agenda, possibly to support a separate state in the North, hoping Tamilnadu Tamils will be happy about it and not agitate for an independent Tamilnadu.
    There are so many such instances where India acted against SriLankan interests, one could write a book on them. It is time for SriLanka to at least drop the word “friend” when refering to the Indian administration, even though there certainly are many Indians who are friendly towards SriLanka.

  10. Fran Diaz Says:

    GoSL & Pres. MR should take this opportunity and get rid of the Indian imposed 13-A. 13-A is null & void in any court of law as it was imposed under DURESS in COLD WAR times. India has now ‘cut us loose’ by voting against Lanka twice at the UNHRC, and Lanka must use this space of complete backing from the People to remove the killer law, the 13-A.

    We the People must push the President & GoSL till the 13-A is no more. This is a grand opportunity and should not be lost.

  11. Fran Diaz Says:

    In Democracies, the mass of People of a country have to PUSH/EXHORT their political leaders to enact or remove Laws/take action in a certain direction. Pres. Obama mentioned this fact in Israel recently. I think it was earlier US President Truman who said the same thing. That is how a true Democracy works.

    Remove the killer 13-A and Move Forward with new Laws to safeguard the Nation ! PUSH for Change – PUSH for what is best for all people here to live in peace and a sense of security.

  12. Fran Diaz Says:

    Bodu Bala Sena ! Unleash your strength and save the country from the 13-A !
    Use non-violence and reason, always. Move the People to demand that the 13-A is removed once and for all.

  13. Voice123 Says:

    Dont worry about the body (US/UK etc), go for the HEAD of the snake and the body wont be able to do any harm. Christie, over to you.
