ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ A report in the media on 20 April, 2013 states that the Indian Premier League (IPL) playoffs in the 2013 version is likely to be shifted out of Chennai.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The possibility of the IPL matches being moved out of Chennai will be welcomed by all lovers of the T20 cricket. The franchise holders will have the opportunity of selecting the best 11 to take on their opponents and T20 fans will see talented cricketers fighting it out without having to worry about protests, possible assaults and disruptions of the game by unruly, ignorant and uncivilised mobs. As far as Sri Lanka is concerned, the much maligned country can say with a sigh of relief that the IPL bosses have realised what really was at stake.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Tamil Nadu is just one state in the 28 states and the seven union territories that constitute India. The decision on the issue visas to foreigners to enter the country and travel within its territorial b boundaries is a matter for the Central government in NewDelhi. No state has the authority or the power, according to the constitution of the country, to bar a foreigner including anyone from Sri Lanka, to enter it of he or she has already being granted a visa.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Jayalalitha and the others of her ilk in Tamil Nadu have been dictating terms to the central government, and those who should know and do better, have been pampering to the whims and fancies of the overfed politicians from the South. It is heartening that the IPL bosses seem to tell the cricket lovers in Tamil Nadu, and more specifically in Chennai, that if they are ready to elect people who cannot separate politics from sport, then they have to forego the opportunity of watching the high-octane IPL matches.

Chennai is getting benefit over other teams. Others can’t put their best team when playing against Chennai in Chennai so Chennai wins- a good reason for IPL to leave Chennai

Chennai the obnoxious Tamil Nadu city of goofball flybynight politicos with no political pedigrees to their names have really shot themselves in the foot over their protests re IPL games there which have excluded top quality Sri Lankan players from games there. If the decision to avoid games there is formally implemented it would be a wise choice.

Since you are an expert would you say Sanga was dropped, withdrew or “not selected” for Sunrisers against CSK in Chennai?
