House of Commons, Ottawa

cc.  Mr. Kamlesh Sharma, Secretary-General, The Commonwealth, Marlborough House, London, UK

Dear Paul and Rathika:

Re: NDP launching a national campaign to boycott Commonwealth Summit in Colombo

I was intrigued to read that you two have ganged together to launch an NDP campaign to boycott Sri Lanka’s Commonwealth Meeting.

The Press Release said that you two “have launched a national campaign to pressure the Conservatives to fully boycott the Commonwealth meetings in Sri Lanka unless an independent and international investigation into alleged war crimes are accepted by the government of that country.”

Before  I come out with my spiel to tell you two that you two have no moral right as Canadians to seek a fully boycott of the Commonwealth Meeting, as we Canadians were part of the alleged war crimes in Sri Lanka  in a big way. And  I want you to know that I am no Johnny-come-lately on this file as you two are.

And then what moral right do you two have when the UN reviews Canada’s  records on rights about the murders of aboriginal women.  This is no flippant comment as it is the Netherlands, the UK, Slovenia, Sweden and Mexico that have submitted written questions in advance of Canada’s Universal Periodic Review before the UN Human Rights Council of Geneva.   Well Rathika,  you should be ashamed of yourself not being concerned about our treatment of members of your gender in the aboriginal communities.  And dear Paul Dewar, you as a parliamentarian should hang your head down in shame. Don’t you two find it strange and out of sync concerned about Sri Lanka when human rights violations are happening in our First National communities under our very eyes?

*Paul, I was on this Sri Lanka file since 4 August 1983, when I went on national TV on the 6 o’clock  national news with another Sinhalese, another Asoka from Chalk River, to tell the flip side of the story that the Tamils had been spewing and spitting at us Sinhalese since  25th July. I have been on this file ever since day in and day out for almost 30 long years, and  perhaps a thorn in the flesh of the supporters of Tamil Tiger terrorists, like your partner in crime, Rathika.

*Paul, I was the one as Chairperson of Project Peace for a United Sri Lanka who met your dear Mum, Marion, at her office on Metcalf Street when she was the President of the NDP to complaint about your NDP MPs, Ernie Epp and Michael Cassidy for speaking Tommy-rot on Sri Lanka supporting the Tamil cause during Question Period.  Let me tell you Paul, your dear Mum gave me a good and a sincere hearing, and after seeing the photographs of the Tamil Tiger massacres of the Sinhalese, especially those of the meditating Buddhists under the Holy Tree at Anuradhapura her eyes were well with tears.  The Tamil Tigers drove down in trucks and shot and killed 120 unarmed Buddhist devotees who were meditating and wounded 85 others on 14 May 1985.

Before I left she pulled me towards her, planted a kiss on my bearded cheek and said, “Keep up the good work and I promise that I will see what I can do with Ernie and Michael”. Both of them went silent in the House after that, and I had a long correspondence with Ernie and finally he was embarrassed enough to tell me in Ed Broadbent’s office on the Hill, that he was sorry for trying to be a cocky MP who pretended that he knew of the Tamil issue when he knew very little about it.

*Paul I was the one with the beard who presented myself on 30 March 2009 to the Parliament’s Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development chaired by MP Kevin Sorenson, and you were part of that Committee, and you asked me: “What is your take of what Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister had said that the Government’s war with the Tamil Tigers is a Humanitarian War?”

My response was, “I would go further than that by saying that it is not only a Humanitarian War it is also a Liberation War, trying to liberate the 300,000 Tamil civilians who are being held by the Tamil Tigers as a human shield.”

Your come back was: “I know where you are coming from but I don’t agree with you”, and you got up with a huff and you walked out of the meeting and you never came back.  Remember?

*You might wonder how I ended up in Ottawa that long ago, and the reason why I got involved in this Sri Lanka-Eelam War file and stay on course for 30 long years.

In 1970, when the National Museum of Canada were searching for a liberal scientist to Head the Thematic Research Section of the Design & Display Division for the renovation of the Victoria Memorial Museum on Argyle Street to complete 15 brand new exhibition halls they head-hunted and found that I fitted their requirement and invited me to come over from London, England.

When you as a 11-year old visited the National Museum of Natural Sciences and the Museum of Man in October 1974, you were reading the texts on wall panels of the Dinosaur Hall (Life through the Ages) which I wrote, and you heard the long poem Trail of Mankind which was piped through the ceiling of the Museum of Man’s Orientation Hall was my poem which was used as the storyline for that hall.

And as to how I got involved in the Sri Lanka-Eelam War file in 1983, – that was easy.  When the Canadian-Sri Lankan-Tamils were lying through their teeth and spitting at the Sinhalese Buddhists, they were also spitting at me as I am a Sri Lankan-Canadian Sinhalese Buddhist.   If they were going to speak of me, then I wanted them to tell the truth and nothing but the truth if not I was going to open up and tell the Canadians the truth.

So I did Paul.  Do you know what?  More than 200 letters to the editor of newspapers had appeared from St.John’s in Newfoundland to Vancouver in British Columbia and not a single letter was challenged by these Rathika-Tamils.  They were smart.  They knew that I knew the facts and if they had challenged that they would have opened a window for me to prove that they are a bunch of liars one more time.

But they, however, did challenge me in a cowardly way as a bunch of gutless, spineless nincompoops, who threatened me on the phone that they would blow me off this earth by blowing off my face.  And they threatened to blow up the 15 storey Centennial Building at 200 Kent Street as I was working for DFO Communications on 9 June 1987 and there was a major security concern in Ottawa that day..  If you wish to know details I will speak to you confidentially in the presence of you partner in crime, Rathika.  Get back to me.

Paul in your press release you said “I invite all Canadians to join our campaign and pressure the Conservatives to fully boycott the upcoming Commonwealth meeting hosted by Sri Lanka, unless that government allows an independent investigation into allegations of war crimes.”

I tell you what Paul and Rathika, I will be the first Sinhalese-Canadian to accept your invitation on one condition.  That you two be honest enough to add these words to that request. “”¦.unless that government allows an independent investigation into allegations of war crimes and also investigate those persons and countries that aided and abetted the alleged war crimes to happen by supporting the Tamil Tigers.”

Let’s throw the net afar a field reaching places like India, Norway, UK, Germany, and France and close to home, Canada.

*I said close to home because the Canadian Government under the leadership of Jean Chretien and Paul Martin let the Tamil Diaspora collect 2 million dollars a month for 13 years to stuff the Tamil Tiger war chest to buy sophisticated war weapons to kill my Sinhalese people;

*I said close to home because the Tamils cut cheques from Vancouver bank accounts to purchase 60 tons of RDX and TNT explosives from the Rubezone Chemical plant in the Ukaraine.  A sum of $990,987 was wired from the bank account of one B. Thambirajah from his bank account in a Vancouver Bank to a Tamil Tiger procurement account overseas to purchase the above consignment of explosives in 1994.  This was part of the $7.5 million that was sent to Ukraine for that purchase.

It were these explosives in a truck bomb that brought down the Central Bank Building in the Fort in Colombo on 31 January 1996, killing 114 and maiming for life 1,338 others.

*I said close to home because the Liberals, Paul Martin (Finance Minister), Maria Minna (CIDA Minister) and several back benchers like Jim Karygiannis attended a $60-a-plate fund raiser in Toronto on May 6, 2000, for the Tamil Tigers, organized by the Federation of Associations of Canadian Tamils (FACT).  Paul Martin was the chief guest of honour.  So they aided and abetted the war crimes in Sri Lanka.  FACT had been identified by the US State Department in its annual list of terrorists groups as “front organizations” for the Tamil Tigers.  Let’s rein in these Canadian parliamentarians for aiding and abetting the alleged war crimes in Sri Lanka, as they are not lily-white and haul them to an International War Crimes court;

*I said close to home because there is information that Manivannan Karunananthaswamy, World Tamil Movement (WTM) leader in Montreal, presented the TRO (Tamil Rehabilitation Organization) with a letter which was sent from Manivannan Veerakulasingham (aka V. Castro), leader of the Tamil Tiger International Secretariat, stating that the TRO in Canada should collect money from non-Tamil people only as it is the responsibility of the WTM to collect money from Tamils.  Let’s find out whether it did happen, if it did who was involved in collecting the funds to aid and abet the Tamil Tiger war crimes in Sri Lanka.

Paul and Rathika, there are oodles of other incidents that happened in Canada which make you hold the buckets for the aiders and abettors of these alleged war crimes in Sri Lanka.  Without casting the net far and wide across Canada, you have no moral right to be selective and  campaign to boycott Sri Lanka’s Commonwealth Meeting.

With such piffle from you two, who are on the way to get embarrassed, if I were you would keep your hands off Sri Lanka. And as for you Rathika, you have better things to do in your constituency like looking after the interest of your seniors without trying to nail Sri Lanka to the wall.

By right you should go on your knees in front of Lord Siva with your palms together  thanking Sri Lanka for liberating 295,873 of your Tamils from the clutches of your ruthless Tamil Tigers who were eliminated by Sri Lanka’s armed forces on 19 May 2009.

Both of you seem to be disingenuous politicians.  Rathika, what you have not told your partner in crime is that when you were brought over to Canada  when you were 5-years old, that it was not because of  discrimination, which  you wouldn’t have understood even  if the words -D I S C R I M I N A T I O N was parachuted down to you from heaven on Babi dolls, but it was because you happened to be a prime candidate to be kidnapped by the Tamil Tigers and brain washed and trained to become a suicide bomber.  Of the 388 suicide bombings that the Tamil Tigers executed  over half of the bombs were young Tamil Tigeresses.  And, of course, according to UNICEF there were over 5,700 child soldiers and you may have been one among them.  And the Human Rights Watch (HWR) says there were over 21,000 of child soldiers.  So stop going around town saying that you came over because you were discriminated  as you knew it was not so even though you were a Babi-doll hugging kid playing hop-scotch in the hot sun under a mango tree.

So Paul and Rathika, let me know whether you are prepared to accommodate my suggestion to re-write that clause to include the possible aiders and abettors from Canada of the war crimes in Sri Lanka.

Just one more thing in passing, John Baird our Foreign Minister had said that Sri Lanka has failed in the fundamental Commonwealth values of “freedom, democracy, human rights, the rule of good law and good governance.”

This guy, I am sure is competing for the year end award of, “Canada’s Best Joker of the Year”.  This is the guy as a Foreign Minister  who hasn’t had the honesty and gumption to acknowledge that the Sri Lankan government had eliminated the Tamil Tigers the most ruthless terrorists in the world, who perfected the art of suicide bombing, and killed two heads of state, Rajiv Gandhi of Indian and President Premadasa of Sri Lanka, and gave back the right-to-life (the paramount human right) to 22 million of its people that had been hijacked  for 27 bloody years.  This guy who is not willing to acknowledge this classic text book human rights example executed by the Sri Lankan Government has no business to comment on Sri Lanka.  He is one pathetic politician we have to live with.

Sincerely,

Asoka Weerasinghe (Mr.)

With the explicit and unchangeable chronology of events and misdeeds perpetrated by Canada over a long period of time, we are alarmed to see how the Sri Lanka Government continues to treat this member of the Commonwealth as a friendly nation. The “magnanimity” shown by the Sri Lanka Government is taken as a “weakness” and now the time has come to take this ” monkey “off our back.

With the facts enumerated in this presentation by Asoka, the people of Sri Lanka must stage a show down and rally round to say “enough is enough” and ” You are not invited to Sri Lanka. You are not a friendly nation of the Commonwealth, because you don’t uphold and protect our values and soverignity”.

We Sri Lankans say “Don’t come here. You are not invited. We will not wave your flag as welcome gesture”.

  2. mario_perera Says:

“…We will not wave your flag as welcome gesture”.

Should the CommonWealth Party happen as planned and unwilling guests attend, e will not say ‘get out’, but
their names should be struck off welcome boards and banners. Indeed “We will not wave your flag as welcome gesture”.

Enough of this bowing our head to tyrants.

  3. Lorenzo Says:

MOST Canadian politicians are NOT that stupid.

So Canada is still a friendly nation. It is different to Tamil Madu where EVERYONE is a racist and anti-SL lowlife. It is NOT the case in Canada.

  4. A. Sooriarachi Says:

Canadian politicians are trying to kill two birds with one stone.
They want to hide the appalling evil practiced against their own first nation by diverting attention to Tamilnet invented crimes in SriLanka and also trying to attract the votes of Tamil separatists who were previously mollycoddled by the opposition when they were in power.
Looks like for Canadian politicians, its all political favours and truth is a distant last.
Will they ever feel guilty for the carnage committed in Sri Lanka by the Tiger separatists with Canadian tax payers’ funds donated to Tiger front organisations, which also had the added benefit of being approved charities in order to avoid paying tax.

  5. Fran Diaz Says:

To most Tamils (especially for the ones who come illegally from Tamil Nadu to Sri Lanka), Sri Lanka is just a ‘trampoline’ to be used for free education & health care for a time, and then migrate legally or illegally to the west. Lanka is a spot to land in to escape Caste/poverty issues of Tamil Nadu.

There are some 400,000 Tamil people from Lanka in Canada. The Tamil Exodus happened after the trumped up 1983 Riots. The Sinhala people of Canada number some 4,000 only. Which community is more important to SOME of the Canadian politicos ? It’s a numbers game, folks ! If there were 500,000 Sinhala people in Canada, the Sinhala people will be wooed by most of the politicos there.

As far as SOME Canadian politicians are concerned, it’s all about Tamil votes and Tamil funding of politicos there. No big surprises there.

It’s puny NDP vs the rest of the Commonwealth, and the UK (Britain, with the Head of C’wealth, the Queen), has already said ok to the Colombo venue. Wither the NDP ?
It’s all about Tamil votes and Tamil funding of politicos in Canada – no more, no less !

  8. lingamAndy Says:

It’s all about Tamil votes and Tamil funding of politicos in Canada – no more, no less !- NOT BAD Demilyas doing very well!
Can you belive Tamils have voice in Ausralia,Canada, UK,USA… where else … but not in Thamil Eelam !

  9. Marco Says:

I believe President Rajapakse has a dilemma with this (nonsense) of a commonwealth conference.
Which is worse, non attendance of high profile individuals or Participants (including invited journalist) making adverse statements on home soil on various issues that further brings embarrassment to him and the Nation.
Secretly, think MR would have preferred a change of venue instigated by the SG of the Commonwealth in order that he can make political mileage on the home front.

  10. Fran Diaz Says:

Andy’s “Tamil Eelam” is in the foothills of the Nilgiri Mts. in Tamil Nadu. Lovely place !

  11. Lorenzo Says:

    Micro,

    You are wrong again.

When journalists, commonwealth leaders, etc. come to the island what will they see?

    DEVELOPMENT genocide in the NE
    Tamil APARTMENT genocide in Colombo
    Tamils living in peace genocide
Tamil TOPPING THE RICH LIST genocide
Tamil only schools doing very well with govt. money genocide
Tamils studying in peace with govt. money genocide
Tamil Ministers in the Cabinet genocide
3 million Tamils still living genocide

And they will realize the total BS Tamilians in Canada, UK, etc. have been telling them.

Australian opposition CAME, SAW AND REALIZED the truth.

As much as I oppose this STOLENWEALTH, there is one good thing them coming to SL. They will see the bullsh*t genocide for real!! What a horrible sight for Tamilian liars!!

  12. lingamAndy Says:

“Tamil Eelam” is in the foothills of the Nilgiri Mts. in Tamil Nadu. Lovely place !-No Wrong again !
Tamil Eelam” is in Jalpanam ( Japana paddina ) !!!

  13. Fran Diaz Says:

    Andy,
Are you rejecting the homeland of Tamil people, Tamil Nadu ?
It appears so, as the Nilgiri Mts. so salubrious & beautiful, are located in Tamil Nadu, and you are saying that “Tamil Eelam” is not there, but in Jaffna ….
    How come ?

  14. lingamAndy Says:

Are you rejecting the homeland of Tamil people, Tamil Nadu ? NO, not at all !!!
We are not Tamils , We are Hela ( in Thamil Eelam – eg: Elara In Thamil Elalalan etc…) nation , Our Home country Is Eelam ( In sinhala Hela ) !

Tamil Nadhu ( meaing Tamil country) is for Tamils not for Sri Lankan Tamils ( for Lankan puthas ) !!!

That Why kicked out IPKF our Mother Land thats is Mother Lanka that is Hela Lanka tha is Eeelam !!!

  15. lingamAndy Says:

That Why WE kicked out IPKF from our Mother Land thats is Mother Lanka thats is Hela Lanka thats is Eelam !!!

Naalai pirakku tamil eelam , Jesus will back !!!
but We do not realiased yet already We have Lanka not only two provinces but also all 9 provinces with Sinhala sakotharays !!! also Jesus already backed !!!

  16. Fran Diaz Says:

    Andy,

As you say “: We are not Tamils , We are Hela ( in Thamil Eelam – eg: Elara In Thamil Elalalan etc…) nation , Our Home country Is Eelam ( In sinhala Hela ) ! Tamil Nadhu ( meaing Tamil country) is for Tamils not for Sri Lankan Tamils ( for Lankan puthas ) !!!”
    and
“That Why WE kicked out IPKF from our Mother Land thats is Mother Lanka thats is Hela Lanka thats is Eelam !!!”

I am raising some points to clarify matters re your thinking (which I assume is the thinking of most Tamil people of Lanka).

    (a) In other words, according to you, Sri Lanka = Tamil Eelam ? Then why that map with a separate area called Tamil Eelam marked in red, covering the N,E and part West too of Lanka ?

    (b) Why the endless acts of terrorism, with lies, cheat & deceit still going on from the Tamil Diaspora and on the internet ?

    (c) Isn’t an Apology due from these Tamils who have played havoc with this small country ? Past Pres.CBK has apologised twice to the Tamil people (I don’t know for what reasons). To my thinking, the only bad area for Tamil folk was in the tea plantations sector and that is being corrected by the present GoSL with some more things to be done. Then there is the Caste problem mind set (now somewhat diluted), carried over into Lanka from Tamil Nadu. Rest of the problems are common problems to all in Lanka.

    (d) What is the TNA thinking on your kind of comment ? In their minds, Eelam is not what you think. Eelam is a separate country. TNA is the main Tamil political party and it is what they say in public that matters. Can you convince them to repeat what you say ?

    (d) If you love Lanka would you take an Oath of Allegiance to Sri Lanka ?

P.S: I wish you would write in clear English – I know you can write good English when it suits you. Thank you. There are more questions on this thread to clear up matters as they stand.

  17. Fran Diaz Says:

Please read last (d) as (e).

  18. Fran Diaz Says:

    Andy,

Most of all, what guarantee is there for the rest of Lanka that your folk will not do a U-turn to the earlier thinking (as VP worship is still there) ?
Will you help us remove the 13-A ?

  19. Fran Diaz Says:

    Dear Andy,

Please bear in mind that we in Lanka judge people by their Actions only. The Buddha said :” One is is high born or low born ONLY through their actions”. In the end, this truth holds on, all over the world, not only in Lanka.

  20. Marco Says:

India appears to play a clever game.
I’m led to believe that India played a “heavy” hand at CMAG to veto the agenda (under other matters) to discuss the “change of venue” of CHOGM in Sri Lanka.
Instead, it appears to lobby “heavy weight” countries and individuals to attend CHOGM.
    Watch this space!

  21. lingamAndy Says:

    Fran Diaz
    a) Lanka – King Ravana who is Siva devoty, his Kingtom is Lanka Puri , Lanka in Tamil is Eela(M)
We Tamil use N, M at the end of name eg: Wikiramasingha = VikkiramasinhaM !
map with a separate area called Tamil Eelam marked in red,- this map is TULF’s election comic ( eighties )taken over by VP ! tham color by TN cinema artised for his TE dream !
    b) endless acts of terrorism, with lies, cheat & deceit still going on from the Tamil – no alternative given to them by SL Govt
eg: if SL Govt would have diverted Mahavali river to KKS than We all Tamil have busy in paddy field to sell our product to Chinhala sakothraya to make money give dovury to our sister weding !
also We would not take this much risk to go to Australia !!!

    c) Isn’t an Apology due from these Tamils – Apology accepted but what you (CBK) done to solve hers father fault ( Only Sinhala ACT )
has she opened Sinhala teaching centre in every coner of NEP ?- NO

    d) If you love Lanka would you take an Oath of Allegiance to Sri Lanka ?- No I do not love Sri Lanka (ulta sinhala name) I love Lanka puri ! Lanka Theepa ! Ellam ! that is mother lanka !

Will you help us remove the 13-A ? NO I support full support implemendation of 13A & LLCR !

  22. Fran Diaz Says:

    Andy,

Thank you for response. However, I do not agree with you on your responses.

    (a) King Ravana : Did he exist at all or was he a stroyteller’s fancy figure ? I do not think names of legends & myth have any foundation. The Ramayana is a beautiful allegorical story of a spiritual journey of a Master/Guru who may have actually
lived in India, but the story itself is allegorical as was the style of that time. Ela was a historical term for Lanka, not necessarily Tamil.

    (b) There was no talk of diverting the Mahaveli at that time of SWRD ! It was 50-50, Federalism and after that Eelam ! Besides, the North had learnt the art of dry zone farming by then. Common on, Andy, you can do better than that one.

Re more water for the North, it is far better to have large de-salination plants than diverting the Mahaweli. I don’t the costs
involved, but diverting a natural river can cause water shortages and ‘water wars’ as in Tamil Nadu.

    (c) As much as the Tamil language is precious to Tamil Nadu, so is the Sinhala language to the Sinhala people of Sri Lanka. They constitute the largest sector and the land was taken away from them by colonists with large numbers of Tamil people brought in by them as indentured labor. The time was right to restore both Language & Land to the Sinhala people. SWRD was right to restore the Sinhala language rights to the Sinhala People.

    (d) If you do not like to take an Oath of Allegiance to Lanka, and do not want to support the removal of the 13-A, how can I call you a trustworthy citizen of Sri Lanka ? Perhaps, Andy, you belong elsewhere and not in Sri Lanka (or Ela) ?. I told you before that the Nilgiri Mts. of Tamil Nadu are lovely & salubrious.

If you stay on in Lanka as things are, you will not feel comfortable or have a sense of belonging. I think you are cutting the branch you are sitting on, aren’t you ? I hope you change your mind as time goes on and whatever pain you have from the past is erased through perhaps meditation.

“Trustful are kinsmen best” said the Buddha. Be trustworthy. Be loved.

  23. lingamAndy Says:

    (a) King Ravana : Did he exist at all or was he a stroyteller’s fancy figure ?- Agrred & not agrred – majority of Hidhus( northern indian) believe in Ramayana ( not me I am borned to be Saivate – Sivas /Sangar is my god not Ramar )
so lanka puri can not be story !
    b) There was no talk of diverting the Mahaveli at that time of SWRD – Agrred because DS/ SWRD want to sinhalese to live in NEP & CN/GGP want divert contry ( 50-50 etc) NO one thought about colibrat these two communty for ever !!!
both leaders were short minded ! Now we paid higher price those Bus..d had natural dead but We did not !!!
diverting a natural river can cause water shortages – No Mahavali river have enogh water to end in KKS
this would have inter link both community for ever both community would have depend on each other so no talk about dividing mother lanka !
c)The time was right to restore both Language & Land to the Sinhala people. SWRD was right to restore the Sinhala language rights to the Sinhala People. – Who We ( Tamils) are? Lanka putha or not ? I am not saying sinhala majority language need to be promoted but with Tamil (minority) support (as educate them in sinha laguage ) they would have support you with out ant discrimination mendality 1
    d) removal of the 13-A, how can I call you a trustworthy citizen of Sri Lanka ? Perhaps, Andy, you belong elsewhere and not in Sri Lanka (or Ela) ?.- aggred I am not belonge to Sri Lanka I am belonge to Saiva Thamil Eelam common given take , no take take – this is my country / our country that wahy we kicked out IPKF even they offered NEP in gold plate as we both know !!!
whatever pain you have from the past is erased through perhaps meditation. – YEs I aggred it is very hard for us , i hope & pray , one day We live together peace fully in mother lanka !!!
Be trustworthy. Be loved. !!! Golden wards !

  24. Fran Diaz Says:

    Andy,

Furthermore, if someone merely just BELIEVES in something, it is not necessarily true. For instance, why isn’t such fantastic events as told in the Ramayana story (with apologies to the believers), happening now ? It is the same earth with human beings. After all, similar events ought to happen now. I don’t know (I think this is more than likely), whether there are gross exaggerations added to some actual events in stories from thousands of years ago. That is very likely. But in the case of the Ramayana it is an allegorical story : Rama the Godhead, Sita the Heart and Ravana the ‘clever’ but unwise Mind.

    (b) No one thought of anything other than the Cold War affiliations, Prime Ministers to the west (right) and Labor to the east (left). Post colonial times, the thought of Southern leaders were also to consolidate the Southern vote base and get back the Land & Language of the People. I can hardly blame them for that ! It was the same in India.

    (c) Would Tamil leaders of that time allowed Tamil children to be educated in Sinhala ? Wow, that would have been something to behold !

    (d) Andy, IPKF would never have come to Lanka if not for Tamil leaders Vaddukkodai Resolution (1976), and the consequent
destabilization of Lanka through acts of terrorism. The Cold War also had something to do with the IPKF coming to Lanka.

Andy, Love and be Loved – how wonderful for us all !

I have nothing more to say.

  25. lingamAndy Says:

1)gross exaggerations added to some actual events in stories from thousands of years ago. – Agrred
2)gross exaggerations added to some actual events in stories from thousands of years ago. – Northern leaders done their same thing ( 50-50 to vaddukoddai that end to mullivaikkal now start in USA/UK )
3)Would Tamil leaders of that time allowed Tamil children to be educated in Sinhala ? No selfish bus..d but they educad their children sinhala ( eg: Chevanayagam had Sinhala tutor to teach his son at home)
    4) IPKF would never have come to Lanka – If Our both community would have sort out our different between us in close room with out inviding outsiders .

Love and be Loved – how wonderful for us all !- this what we want us well but why our sinhala sakotharaya taking short cut every time when ever golden opportunity come to us !
eg: We have 2/3 majority , power full president ( from Maththar ) & very flexible option leder Ranil & Head of TNA sampanthan geniuvinly want to solve ( show SL nation flag in his hand ) our ethenic problm for ever !
so solution already with us ! no need new consistation, no need new take , no need wast of time !!!
fully implement 13 A & LLCR !!! no less no more ,engough is engouh !!!
    Shall we do ? NO
is it our Karma my sinhala sakotharam !!!

  26. Fran Diaz Says:

    Andy,

The only way to solve the existing problem is for Sri Lanka Tamil people to BELONG to Sri Lanka, make it good for all the people of Lanka. Stop Separatist ideas and join in mainstream living, as is done by all minorities in the democracies of the west.

Also Tamils of low caste & Dalit origins in Tamil Nadu have to stop looking at Lanka as the solution to their problems. Solve the problem on the home grounds of Tamil Nadu. Start with a modern sanitary system for the whole state. That is the way to go to yield the desired results.

When Separatism is removed from the Tamil leaders agenda, peace will come to the Tamils of Lanka. It is first up to the Tamil leaders to lead the way to peace in Lanka, through ideas of Unity, not Separatism.

  27. lingamAndy Says:

Stop Separatist ideas and join in mainstream living,- this what permant long term solution ,but where is the way ???
    or blue print !!!

Also Tamils of low caste & Dalit origins in Tamil Nadu- This is not our (lankan) problm !!! as similar to We Lankan can not Somalin or Ethipopian problm
Since 1948 We killed each other atleast 200,000 people what rights or brain We have to advice others !!!
