May 17th 2013ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

In rank testimony to the reality that the present Administration and its leadership has done something right for the countryƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ a vast multitude ofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ people have shown their solidarityƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ with voices raised in appreciationƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ while also condemning the enemies of theƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ StateƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  who continuously seek a means toƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ discredit and bring to disreputeƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the countryƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢sƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  development and progressƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ in the aftermath of the victory against terrorism. It was a march ofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ people power.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

This was the manifestation of people power that transpired on the 15th of May in the vicinity of the Lake House Colombo and speaks volumes for the State of the nation today and elaborates the mindset of the true patriotic Sri Lankans who bear allegiance to the present Administration, people from all walks of life who acknowledge that while conditions may not have returned to a perfect normalcy what they see is sufficient for huge accollades to be given to the Administration regardlessƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ itsƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  adversaries ever ready to drag down Government policy and join in the worthless calls to censure Sri Lanka internationally where the reasons for such become painfully obvious as they stem mostly from theƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Tamil Diaspora hand in glove with a huge consortium of anti Sri Lankan sources scattered around the world to which a quotient of internalƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ politicalƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ undesirables may also be added!
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
To reiterate,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ notƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ surprisingly the multitude comprised ofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  large numbers ofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  trade union members, politicians and men and women from various walks of life as well as the public working sector whoƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ joined the demonstration with voices raised in unison uttering the slogan ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”LetƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s defeat all anti-government plotsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ which was indicative of the awareness of the general public and their commitment towards joining Governmental progress where many discerning analysts believe that the Nation is at a cross roads now of awareness of what plagues the nation and which direction they would like to takeƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ~ i.e. one in favour of the Government and a strong need to confront and dispel the onslaughts of all anti Government reactonary forces towards the betterment of the country which has been set in place by the Administration somewhat remarkably all things considered whils also overcoming many hazards.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
The multitude of marchers began their demostration near the Lake HouseƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  roundabout in the afternoon and proceeded to Pettah, where it climaxed in a huge rally. Quoting media sources and the organisers of the rally “the main objective of the demonstration was “ to show displeasure of, and denounce attempts byƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ both local and international saboteurs to stall the progress of the country.

They called upon the working class and all people who ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”love the motherland to join hands to protect the hard won peace and defeat attempts by conspirators.” end quote where it was an uprecedented show of loyalty to the hierarchyƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ dispellingƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  previous doubts broadcast by some who believed that the Government was losing popularity amongst the people which not only contradicted the assertion which seemed erroneous but also augmented the reality thatƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the Government still held sway in the minds of a greater proportion of people demonstrated by thoseƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ who participated in the rally.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
It has also been observed by the sources who were at hand to report on the days events thatƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ it was virtually a unanimous message to the international community that the masses were firmly behind government and its pro country pro-people policies as quoted and augurs extremely well for the state of the nation and the collective mind of her people today from a majority perspective.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
It also brings to bear the reflective mood of the people on the many areas of development entailing road networks linking most parts of the Island, the freedom of movement and the tolerance and tranquility Sri Lanka now enjoys in the aftermath of the terrorist campaign despite certain areas of difficulty relative to the cost of living, job availability and the disparity between the haves and the have nots which the Rajapaksa Administration has pledged to address despite related skepticism by some albeit no mean task given the ratio of population and a near non existent GDPƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  relative to the various other anomalies which govern the socio economic conditions. These are daunting to say the least. However in the eyes of the perceptive observers around the world qualified to draw conclusions there appears to be an indelible air of admiration aboutƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  how the present administration has manouevred itself towards making SriƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Lanka a better place to live in for all her citizens and something which needs to be celebrated rather than discredited by those who fail to see its importanceƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ .ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

Highlighting another aspect of the rally it has been observed that “Commenting on the Opposition’s protests against the recent electricity tariff hikes, the joint trade union activists said that the President has already granted relief in this connection and the intelligent people of the country cannot be deceived by misleading slogans by the opposition which once againƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ attests to the sad reality that theƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ undercurrents against the GovernmentƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  will continue where only actions will be greater than rhetoricƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ and somethingƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  which appears to have been set in place already needing apt recognition.

Without this administration, there would have been no Sri Lanka. In fact, it would have been the end of the Sinhalese. This administration saved the Sinhalese and it has to be recognised. Recent electricity charge hike could be taken as a business opportunity for solar power. There is an abundance of solar energy in Lanka.

I , wholeheartedly aggree with this presentation as NO OTHER POLITICAL PARTY WHO WERE IN POWER DURING THE PAST 3 DECADES EVER CAME FORWARD TO DEFEAT THE LTTE TERRORISM THE VILLAIN ACTS WERE TOTALLY IGNORED BY THE SO CALLED WESTERN PUNDITS,NGO & INGO IDIOTS WHO WORKED FOR LTTE DIASPORAH’S SANTHOSAMS AND ALL THE WESTERN COUNTRIES EVER CONDEMNED THE DIRTY & MURDERERS ACTS OF THE LTTE WHO MURDERED THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF INNOCENT CIVILIANS,BUDDHISTS DEVOTEES AT ANURADHAPURA SACRED BOW TREE PREMISESS,KILLING INNOCENT YOUNG BUDDHIDTS PRIESTS IN COLD BLOOD AT ARANTALAWA, KILLING BUDDHIST DEVOTEES AND TRYING TO DESTROY SACRED PALACE OF DALADA MALIGAWA IN KANDY,KILLING MANY MUSLIM DEVOTEES AT A MOSQUE MERCILESLY in additions to many killings all over Sri Lanka and destructions.Where the hell were the Western countries who try to hang the Rajapakses for defeating LTTE at that time,AND STILL SUPPORTING THE TERRORIST SUPPORTERS WHO FINANCED LTTE WITH PROVIDING ARMS ETC,WHO WERE TREATED AS GOOD TERRORISTS WHILE ALL AGAINST THEM TREATING AS BAD TERRORISTS still are devicing ways & means to harassSri Lankan Govt for upsetting their motives-TO DEVIDE SRI LANKA.But Sri Lanka, with all the obstacles go forward with afirm determination to develop the country.
At the same time while appreciating the good work done by the Govt., time has come to sacrifice some of the PIRKS ENJOYED BY THE PEOPLES REPRESENTATIVES AND THEIR HENCHMEN!!!
Sri Lankan Govt., must decide now better late than nover to:
    1) Cut down wastes in Govt sector in various forms by the henchmen!
    2) REDUCE OR ELIMINATE THE BAND WAGONS OF SECURITY PERSONNEL TO THE POLITICOS,MPs,Deputry Ministers,Ministers etc, etc!!
    3) Allow only one or two official vehicles to the Politicos, etc!!!
    4) Cut down the Electricity bills of Govt MPs,Ministers, and all whose BILLS ARE BEING PAID BY GOVT!!!!
    5) Eliminate wastes in Govt institutions like Petrolium Corporation Officials, Electricity Board Officials,AND ALL GOVT SECTORS!!!!!
    6) Get all Govt Officials from the Top Rank to the Peons levels to PERFORM THEIR DUTIES HONESTLY AND WITHOUT ANY BIAS!!!!!!- My own daughter who is a Graduate English Science Teacher is a victim of an ERRORNES ACTION TAKEN BY A REGIONAL DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION IN A REGION,WHOSE SALARY WAS STOPPED FOR 8 MONTHS IN 2008 ON FALSE REASONS WITHOUT HOLDING AN ENQUIRY/INVESTIGATION(WHO HAD THE COURAGE TO SAY THAT HE HAD NO ANY ALTERNATIVE,WHEN I QUESTIONED HIM-SUCH OFFICILAS SHOULD BE SENT HOME WITH PROPER INVESTIGATIONS!!!!!!
    7) Mr President MUST HOLD MEETINGS WITH TEACHERS IN INDIDUAL SCHOOLS TO UNDERSTAND WHAT AMMOUNTS OF HARRASINGS THEY UNDERGO BY THE EXECUTIVES AS WELL AS BY THE SUBJECT CLERKS OF EDUCATION OFFICERS
    OR,
APPOINT SEPERATE OFFICIALS TO DEAL WITH THE INCREMENTS,PROMOTIONS etc OF INDIVIDUAL SCHOOLS!!!!!!!

    Happy Independence Day Everybody!

I agree. We sometimes complain TOO MUCH on bad things and forget the good.

The problems of this govt. are REVERSIBLE, CORRECTABLE compared to the WAR VICTORY.

  4. Fran Diaz Says:

Our many thanks to GOSL – may you all continue to act with wisdom, strength & caution. Identify and act on social problems before they become unbearable and lead to strife.

Live Long & Prosper, Lanka – stay United & Undivided !

  5. Chancy Says:

I agree with Lorenz. Sometimes we do complain too much. We need to come together and unite and support our hard working officials. In the US, the Ambassador is doing great work but not appreciated by some expats.
