MOTHER LANKA COMMITS HARA-KIRI

This letter below I wrote on 6 May 2013 published in Lankaweb (which is re-produced) which has come true‚  yesterday (21/9/2013) at the NPC elections with a landslide victory for LTTE proxy TNA and death knell to ƒ–NE NATION Sri Lanka. With this victory , TNA will tell the western world that they got a referendum according to their‚  manifesto‚  for a separate Ealam and use it to harness international support to create an Eelam. They will from day one ask for Land & Police powers, re-merger of North & Eastern provinces, Free hand in Fiscal policy to deal with foreign governments, removal of the existing bases of tri-forces from northern province as stepping stone to create an Eelam. The Government had two third majority to abrogate the 13A before declaring elections in the North but did not act wisely and now will have to bear the blunt of it-â„¢s naivety. The stark truth that a Tamil will never vote for a non-Tamil has been proved at this election despite so much has been done in the North to improve the life of the ordinary Tamils in the North. Had almost three hundred thousand Tamils who fled from LTTE‚  tyranny in 2009 to the Army camps for safety‚  alone voted for UPFA, the ruling party would‚  have won more seats than what they got.‚  Around‚  7000 of our valiant Sinhala soldiers sacrificed their lives to rescue these hapless Tamil people who were using as human shields by LTTE. This election results manifest how ungrateful the Tamils are for saving their lives by Sinhala soldiers and the rehabilitation and reconciliation efforts by the Government.

MOTHER LANKA COMMITS HARA-KIRI

President Rajapaksa in the recent past has been telling the people that Northern Provincial Council(NPC) elections will be held in September under 13 Amendment. If NCP elections are held and the onetime LTTE proxy TNA wins (not if, they will most certainly will) on the very next day the patriotic tabloids if there are any, would carry‚  the headlines as‚  -Mother Lanka commits hara-kiri (ritual suicide) being unable to bear the pain of seeing that she will be dissected into ethnic enclaves-.

There is no doubt that TNA is going to win as unlike the Sinhalese, the Tamils will vote only to a Tamil whatever the party is. How much the Tamil population in the North is showered with milk & honey, houses, hospitals, schools, water, electricity, opportunities of employment and self-employment and building infrastructure by the Government, rescuing 283000 Tamils held hostage by the LTTE, still they will forget all good things done by the Rajapaksa Government and vote for‚  TNA who did nothing to uplift their lives but instead supported LTTE to keep the Tamils under the jackboots of LTTE leaders. The government should understand this stark truth before having elections in the North. The UPFA should not take it for granted that the Tamils will vote for UPFA candidates leaving out TNA despite the excellent development taking place in the North for the upliftment of the Tamils.

Thousands of Sinhala Ranaviruwan sacrificed their lives and thousands became disabled from all forces in protecting the territorial integrity and unitary status of Mother Lanka. Whilst all Sri Lankan are enjoying the dividends of peace, their sacrifices would be in vain if‚  NPC elections are held under 13A and handover the NPC to TNA Eelamists on a platter. Same way when Varadharaja Perumal declared Unilateral Declaration of Independence in the Eastern Province‚  (though quashed), TNA will declare Unilateral Declaration of Eelam in the Northern Province next morning and implement police and land powers and opt for secession from the Government. They will get hundred percent backing from Tamil Nadu, India and the western countries who have vested interest with the Tamil Diaspora. If such a situation arises, is the government ready with a strategy to quell such situation? Can we have faith that if TNA wins that they will give up its clamor for a separate State? If we observe the behavioral pattern of the TNA over the past few years in domestic politics and in the international arena, they have been propagating separatism with the support of western countries like US, UK, Canada, some EU countries and India, we cannot expect TNA to give up Prabhakaran-â„¢s Eelam dream.

If the NCP elections are held under the present constitution, it-â„¢s the death knell of a one nation and its hara-kiri for Mother Lanka. This catastrophe can be avoided‚  only if (1) abrogate the 13 Amendment before the NPC election is held or(2) as an immediate measure, withdraw the police and land powers in the 13 Amendment-so that it will be a deterrent to declare secession and in such a situation the Government can interfere to quell such attempt.

Let us all get together and pray that the President will be blessed‚  with extra courage and prudence to save Mother Lanka‚  from committing suicide.

  1. Mr. Bernard Wijeyasingha Says:

This article along with the ground realities of the victory of the Tamil National Alliance will put the Rajapakse Government on alert. The wake up call will come when the Tamil National Alliance flush with this victory starts demanding what the Rajapakse Government fully recognizes as the voice of the LITE.

The more that the Tamil National Alliance voices the demands of the LITE the greater the chance that the 13th amendment will see its own tomb. If this was a tactical decision to wait till the elections are over then I would say it is a successful decision for now all those Tamil voters whose names will be known by the Rajapakse government and what is the true agenda of the Tamil National Alliance now have the valid reason to nullify and void the 13th amendment and state to all the world that the true ambitions of the 13th amendment is now being used by the Tamil National Alliance to divide Sri Lanka using their political clout in the same manner that the LITE wanted Eelam using terrorism.

This could lead to a purge of all elements within Sri Lanka that continue to pursue this suicidal path. I doubt very much if the Rajapakse government was lackadaisical regarding the nullification of the 13th amendment and I am in full confidence they used the elections to flush out the pro LITE elements and use that as “smoking gun” to nullify the 13th amendment and even disband the Tamil National Alliance on grounds of treason. As for those who voted for the Tamil National Alliance I will make a calculated guess that they will rue the day they did vote in the treacherous party.

    Very true.

SL is now in MORE DANGER than anytime before.

    MR has done a RUN-NIL.

  3. Sri Rohana Says:

Why so called pro-NPC election campaigners are silence! Vasudeva, DEW, Tissa Vitharana, Rajitha, Dilan Perera,Reginald Cooray and NGO’s has to take the responsibility of this national disaster. This is not only an election defeat but created a carpet road to separation. TNA election manifesto is for self determination and federalism. Very soon north Sudan and south Sudan scenario can happen here with the blessing of U.S.A/NATO, U.N.O and UNHR.
Socialism has to apply with socialists but not with racists. Our leftists tried to apply socialist theories to racist, feudalist, cast oriented, tamil nadu influenced, backward Jaffna society. At the end if a war started who is going to front line? Only innocent Sinhala sons will have to sacrifice their lives. Neither NGO’s sons nor Vasu’s son will fight for motherland. They will go to USA.
Even Prabakaran may not believe eelam dream fulfilled with a cake walk.

  4. Nalliah Thayabharan Says:

Election Manifesto of Tamil National Alliance in 2004
“… Accepting LTTE’s leadership as the national leadership of the Tamil Eelam Tamils and the Liberation Tigers as the sole and authentic representatives of the Tamil people, let us devote our full cooperation for the ideals of the Liberation Tigers’ struggle with honesty and steadfastness. Let us endeavour determinedly, collectively as one group, one nation, one country, transcending race and religious differences, under the leadership of the LTTE for a life of liberty, honour and justice for the Tamil people….”

Election Manifesto of Tamil National Alliance in 2001
“… unless meaningful negotiations are held with the L.T.T.E. no just solution can be found to the Tamil national question and that such negotiations should be held immediately only with the LTTE. This Alliance further states that in order to ensure that the negotiations are properly focused and are purposeful and successful, no parallel negotiations should take place with any other Tamil political formation….”

Vaddukkottai Resolution in 1976 May 14
“… And this Convention calls upon the Tamil Nation in general and the Tamil youth in particular to come forward to throw themselves fully into the sacred fight for freedom and to flinch not till the goal of a sovereign state of TAMIL EELAM is reached….”

  5. Lorenzo Says:

Govt should get cracking in this.

EVERY PC member has to make the following oath.

“I . . . . . do solemnly declare and affirm-swear that I will uphold and defend the Constitution of the Republic of Sri Lanka.”

TNA dirt will take oath in front of Sambanthan. However, govt. should RECORD them taking it and play it to Tamilian Diaspora jokers. Can’t describe their anger!!

IF TNA dirt don’t take this oath, they cannot function as PC members.

  6. Fran Diaz Says:

    Nalliah,

All the more reason that the Supreme Crt has to act NOW to remove the illegal TNA Manifesto. Also, take Mr Wigneswaran to task as he is talking against the Law of the Land (breaking the Amendment 6-A).

    ———–

Lankans, govern your country well or ex-colonists will be only too glad to take over again.

  7. AnuD Says:

Sri Lanka is playing wrong CHESS game and because of that country is losing little by little. the game the politicians play is mostly for their personal benefits and If we fought the LTTE war this way we would have never won it.
