Hon John Key,
Prime Minister of New Zealand.
Dear Mr Key
As you lead New Zealand at the Waitangi day celebrations  this year, our association would like to extend our warmest wishes  to you and all of New Zealand for a successful celebration and a successful year.

We, New Zealanders of Sri Lankan origin, recall gratefully   your statement like contribution at the CHOGM , that helped to restore balance in the face of an unfair barrage of criticism on Sri Lanka as it endeavors to recover and reconstruct after three decades of  ravages of war.

In this election year, I wish to inform you that   the well   over ten thousand  of Sri Lankan origin throughout New Zealand , would be gratefully mindful of  this support you gave   Sri Lanka,  when they exercise their franchise, later this year.

As you may be aware , Sri Lanka’s next  exposure to criticism  based on such  unfair and  unsubstantiated allegations is  at the UNHRC  sessions in March in Geneva.

We urge that  NZ along with Australia use their good offices at the United Nations, as they did at the CHOGM, to encourage the UNHRC  sessions to recognize and support the many outstanding post war achievements of Sri Lanka in reconciliation and reconstruction that you were witness to and to detract from counterproductive measures that will undermine the progress of these laudable achievements.

I attach below a U tube link  to the documentary on Sri Lanka shown on American ABC television  network, also to be shown on CBS,CNBC & FOX  entitled                     ” Reconciling & Rebuilding” for your viewing pleasure and information.
