Cameron, Sri Lanka’s de facto opposition leader

David Cameron, the Prime Minister of England has a second job. It is not a part time spring job as he is supposed to be active in the second job as well during his tenure as the Prime Minister of England. He has assumed duties as the de facto leader of opposition of Sri Lanka operating from Westminster and number 10, Downing Street, as the so called opposition in Sri Lanka is not effective the way he wants. He is a single issue leader of opposition ostensibly preoccupied with human rights of Tamils, the media people, NGO wallas, and of course leaders of anti nationalist political parties that submit “hora” (bogus) lists to the commissioner of elections having failed to find the required number of people to contest even at a Provincial Council election, and last but not least single issue candidates at Presidential elections concentrating on abolition of executive Presidency.

The politics of Sri Lanka is between the UPFA and the conservative – labour alliance in England assisted by Obama and his colleagues in USA. As far as Sri Lanka is concerned all these people have formed an alliance under the leadership of Cameron. The objective of the alliance is the removal of the Rajapaksa “Regime” but they pretend to be obsessed with the human rights issue in Sri Lanka. Geneva, London and Washington and not Colombo of Western Province or Galle of the Southern Province are the centers of Sri Lankan politics with people such as Navi Pillai and American State Department officials together with those from Whitehall in London working as paid servants for the combined opposition mentioned above.

Clash between Chinthanayas and cultures

The leading theoretician as far as the West is concerned is neither a so called postmodernist, a post Marxist, Fukuyama who wrote “The end of history”, a Keynesian, a Monetarist nor an “intellectual” from Peradeniya, but Samuel Huntington. His Clash of Civilizations is the new Bible of the West and what we experience all over the world is a clash between the cultures and Chinthanayas though not strictly according to Huntington. His book may have created initially a self congratulatory feeling among some nationalists thinking that the former had appreciated their views, but it was soon explained that the authour was only warning the Western leaders of the struggle after the collapse of the Berlin wall.

However, what had not been realized by Huntington was that at least since the commencement of Greek Judaic Christian (GJC) Chinthanaya towards the end of the fifteenth century, it had been a clash between Chinthanayas and cultures, and we are experiencing the phase where GJC Chinthanaya is being challenged by the Islamic Chinthanaya and (Theravada) Buddhist Chinthanaya. The GJC Chinthanaya is in its last stages of existence and has a mortal fear of the two Chinthanayas mentioned above.

The Islamic Chinthanaya has the military power while the (Theravada) Buddhist Chinthanaya has the spiritual strength to defeat the nature destructing economics of the GJC Chinthanaya. The Sinhala Buddhist Chinthanaya, which is older than and not exactly the same as scholastic Theravada Buddhist Chinthanaya to the dismay of those imitative sociologists and others who for example write on Buddhism Betrayed, Protestant Buddhism, Dutugemunu the tyrant, is capable of defeating in Sri Lanka the GJC Chinthanaya sponsored military outfits betraying Buddhism Betrayed, through warfare, yes warfare, in spite of “panathipatha”, as has been shown from 1506 to 2009. We in Chinthana Parshadaya are prepared for a second Panadura Vadaya (Panadura debate) on “warfare” in Sinhala Buddhist Chinthanaya if a sociologist (emeritus or otherwise) of the academia from here or abroad is interested in an open public debate conducted at a place such as the public library auditorium in Colombo.

Violation of human rights

In Sri Lanka the Sinhala Buddhists have defeated the Western countries militarily as well, as the Portuguese, the Dutch and the English know through experience. If not for the Sinhala English Pact of 1815, named the Kandyan Convention by the English “intellectuals” with their imitators echoing it, the English would not have been able to conquer the whole country. As we have said often the English wanted the English educated Tamil Vellalas to be the leaders of the country instead of the Sinhalas, especially the Sinhala Buddhists, but their plans came to naught with the cardinal sin committed by the former from their point of view, when they introduced universal franchise in 1931.

The English then began to concentrate on establishing an Eelam with the help of the English educated Tamil vellalas but the latter proved ineffective and soon the Karaivar Prabhakaran took the leadership. The English now use the dispersed Tamils in their countries to defeat the Sinhala Buddhist Chinthanaya, through the TNA and the adjunct organizations of the UN.

The aim and the objective of the English with respect to Sri Lanka is to mortally defeat Sinhala Buddhist Chinthanaya that also has the military strength to defeat in Sri Lanka the outfits based on GJC Chinthanaya as has been proved by the defeat of the LTTE in 2009 in Nandikadal. Though there are other countries including England and USA with horrible records on violation of human rights records it is Sri Lanka that comes to limelight in Geneva.

The Sri Lankan media is also responsible for the state of affairs, in a way, as they give unnecessary publicity to the “Geneva gilmaat”. It is a “gilmaat” in more than one way as what the west is interested in is changing the government or a “regime change” in their language and not in the violation of human rights of anybody in the country.

SJV Chelvanayakam

The West has indicated that they are prepared to drop charges on human rights violation if the Sri Lankan government betrays the sovereignty of the people. It has to be recorded that the GJC Chinthanaya while using the TNA to defeat the Sinhala Buddhist Chinthanaya, is working against the Tamil Hindu Chinthanaya as well through the money of the dispersed Tamils in the west. This has been going on for some time, even before the days of Chelvanayakam, and especially through the LTTE using other means, and it appears that the Chief Minister of the Northern Province has begun to realize it now though not exactly the way we see it. It is time for ordinary Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Catholics and others in Sri Lanka to get together against the hegemony of the GJC Chinthanaya.

The West wanted to use various springs following the Arab experience but there is no effective opposition in Sri Lanka to lead such a spring. The political parties and the NGOs failed with the so called springs of the fishermen, the pensioners, the university academics and finally the UNP and the NGOs learning a lesson with the “Aluthkade” spring. None of these organizations has any nationalistic inclinations and they have no place in Sri Lankan politics at present.

The West is unable to use any of these parties or groups to “change the regime” and as a last resort some of the imitators in Sri Lanka appear to have turned towards a well known Bhikku as the so called common candidate at the Presidential elections, having failed with past Presidents, past Chief Judges, past Army Commanders. What the NGOs, the Tamil intellectuals, the Marxists and the others who have no understanding of the Sinhala mind do not realize is that a Bhikku who has lost touch with the Sinhala Buddhist Chinthanaya would poll less than one third of the votes that Mahinda Rajapaksa would poll at the next Presidential elections.

LLRC report

The Sinhala Buddhists incidentally refer to a new Nikaya called Palli Nikaya to categorize the Bhikkus who do not subscribe to the Sinhala Buddhist Chinthanaya, and Palli Nikaya Bhikkus nor the associated “dayakas” have no impact on Sri Lankan politics. The leader of the UNP is only a bystander while the new leader of the JVP can organize the last rites of the party. The Western politicians unlike their imitating “intellectuals” in Sri Lanka realize that “Palli Nikaya” Bhikkus and lay people who talk of LLRC report, now with a plus, and international investigations are incapable of defeating Mahinda Rajapaksa that itself is a phenomenon that they cannot understand. Mahinda Rajapaksa phenomenon cannot be understood with concepts such as populist politics or Sinhala Chauvinism echoed by simpletons.

The West has only the Ananthi – Premachandran faction of the TNA to depend on in Sri Lanka, as they do not have much sympathy for the India sponsored Sampanthan – Wigneshwaran faction. However, the west cannot change “the regime” solely through the Ananthi – Premachandran faction and realizing the incapability of the Sri Lankan opposition Cameron has decided to intervene directly in order to achieve what the west wants.

We have, from the beginning, told that the English politicians are not after the Tamil vote in some suburbs in London, but it is the former who use the dispersed Tamils in England and other Western countries such as Canada, to defeat the Sinhala Buddhist Chinthanaya if possible.

The Geneva meeting in March cannot impose economic sanctions officially but the England led West would apply pressure on Sri Lanka through other economic means. However, the average person, though not the “educated” city wallas, is prepared to face any consequences to protect the sovereignty of the country as has been done for thousands of years, and what Cameron in his capacity as the de facto leader of opposition of Sri Lanka does not understand is the spiritual strength of Sinhala nationalism.

  1. Mr. Bernard Wijeyasingha Says:

Nations like the UK and US only have the power if Colombo gives it to them. If Colombo calls their bluff in a similar manner that Iran and Cuba have done in various ways they will not have a leg to stand.

The UK is openly hosting terrorist organizations which go against the Geneva conference. In this situation the UK has about the same moral high ground to accuse other nations of human rights violations as Egypt of Syria or Pakistan have. No nation can host a terrorist organization and then give voice to that organization in repudiating the targeted nation. The UK and for that matter India who hosts TESO (Tamil Eelam Supporters Organization) have to demonstrate to the Geneva conference that they cannot both harbor a terrorist organization and then use the verbage of that organization to accuse the targeted nation of human rights violations.

Sri Lanka has powerful Security Council members. Russia and China. Russia recently echoed what I stated. Selective targeting of nations for human rights violations will not be supported by Russia. Russia went on to state that every nation has some level of human rights violations. With their support Colombo should turn the tables on these select group of nations who cater to the LITE and put them in the spotlight of their duplicity.

Demand that they dismember the LITE organizations since they are representing a terrorist group stated by the UN itself. Once these host nations do what is stated by the Geneva conference of harboring organizations that support terrorist outfits, the issue of human rights can then be taken up based on the entire war and not a part of it.

An article in the Mirror states that emissaries from Sri Lanka have gone to the Obama dominated US for a fair and impartial treatment of the issue. Obama will not give that since his administration is in a program to contain China, Sri Lanka’s strongest ally. Instead Sri Lanka should focus on the select few nations who will be voting on the up and coming human rights resolution and have not made up their minds. This should exclude India who states she has not made up her mind but it is obvious she already has.

  2. Mr. Bernard Wijeyasingha Says:

Correction: this should NOT include India.

  3. Lorenzo Says:

This is a good way to TAME Endia and TAMILS.

So the score is SL – 116 Endia 25

    Sinhalese 121 – Tamils 20.

Keep them DIVIDED. NEVER let TN Tamils and SL Tamils join.

“Colombo sabotages Tamil fishermen understanding across Palk Strait

    [TamilNet, Friday, 14 February 2014, 22:23 GMT]

Amidst an existing understanding between the fishermen societies of Eezham Tamils and Tamil Nadu fishermen, who met recently in Tamil Nadu, that Indian fishermen could engage in fishing in the Palk Strait till March 15 without hindrance, the navy of the occupying Sri Lanka has arrested 116 Tamil Nadu fishermen in the territorial waters of the Eezham Tamils within the past 12 days, news sources in Jaffna said. In the meantime, the Indian coast guard has detained 25 fishermen from the island, 20 Sinhalese from South and 5 Eezham Tamils.”

  4. Lorenzo Says:

This is such a stupid idea.

“A large group of people mainly consisting of Buddhist monks and laymen today staged a protest in front of the U.S. Embassy in Colombo against the proposed resolution on Sri Lanka at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva. The protestors also dashed coconuts on the road while elephants from the Gangarama Perahera were also used in the deomontration, organized by the Hunupitiya Gangaramaya Temple.”

    -adaderana.lk

We should NO be protesting in front of the US embassy. NOT with smashing cocoNUTS!!

  5. Fran Diaz Says:

Colonists NEVER quite give up their colonies !

British PM David Cameron is no exception. More so, as INDIA was the ‘jewel in the crown of the British Empire’ and Sri Lanka is lumped along with India due to proximity. Sri Lanka is considered, in fact, a gateway to India, via the North of Lanka and Tamil Nadu (the lead Separatist state of South India that wanted to form Dravidastan but forced to stop after PM Nehru’s Anti-Secessionist Laws -1962), whose leaders then transferred their Separatist aspirations to North Sri Lanka.

Mr Cameron has been honest enough to say that “most of the troubles in the world today is due to Britain”.

The British ‘dinosaur’ and supportive countries got into bed with Lanka leaders during the Cold War times, whilst the Lanka rural folk ran with the other super power, the Moscow wing and later the Peking wing. This ‘dinosaur’ and his pals asks for ‘constant proof of love’ from any sector in Lanka – never mind the size of the creature, it’s teeth, hot foetid breath, scaly skin, and poo smells that will send you running for life !!!

Whilst it was better for Lanka to run with the west during Cold War times (was there a choice ?), now it is time to lay all the Cold War stuff to rest and get on with our lives without getting further embroiled in preparations for the next Cold War and Tamil Caste/poverty issues serving the Cold War players.

As Prof Nalin de Silva says there is a spiritual strength in Lanka that has saved this Nation time and again. It will save this Nation yet once more, and it is our ancient bedrock Sinhale and even Tamils & Muslims who truly loves and cares for Sri Lanka, who will do it. It is time to demand true Independence from overly dominant external forces.

    ——–

    Lorenzo,

Yes, there should be NO protests in front of the US Embassy. Wrong place and bad timing.

    ———–

Also, breaking of coconuts is a symbol of smashing the human ego and should be appropriately done in kovil grounds.
Also, using elephants in protests is not a smart thing to do.

  6. Sooriarachi Says:

Cameron is not only the de facto opposition leader, but he has transferred the leadership to the racist LTTE proxy TNA, from the democratic once great party the UNP, which has lost its way due to selfish unpatriotic persons like Ranil, Mangala, Kiriella etc controlling the UNP.

  7. Fran Diaz Says:

Gangarama Temple folk ought to know better that America, India & Sri Lanka were ALL colonized by Britain.

The Jnt Opposition once more trying to mislead badly informed ordinary people of Lanka ? All acts of mischief must be done to get Brownie Points for the forthcoming PC elections plus giving points to ‘dinosaurs’ at the UNHRC meeting in March.
How about the acts of Arson going on ? Who is responsible ?

Another point, re Disappearances – please take a look at this article :

“Presidential Secretary alleges foreign governments not cooperating
    Disappearances: Sri Lanka’s dilemma
    February 14, 2014, 9:39 pm – ISLAND

    By Shamindra Ferdinando

The Sri Lankan government is in a dilemma due to some foreign governments refusing to collaborate in its efforts to verify information as regards those persons reported missing during the conflict.

Presidential Secretary Lalith Weeratunga on Wednesday (February 12) admitted that the government hadn’t been successful in its endeavours though the same Western governments demanded to know the whereabouts of those disappeared.

Addressing the media at the Central Bank HQ, Weeratunga said that having received information recently regarding the presence of several of those listedmissing living abroad, the government sought the assistance of some Colombo based embassies to verify the information. The official alleged that the embassies had declined to assist, thereby thwarting Sri Lanka’s efforts.

The meeting was told how Australia had issued a new passport to Kumar Gunaratnam, leader of the breakaway JVP faction, the Frontline Socialist Party (FSP) bearing the name Noel Mudalige a few years ago, while Gunaratnam still remained listed as a missing person. The ruse came to light when Australian High Commissioner Robyn Mudie produced Gunaratnam’s new passport to facilitate his return to Australia after the FSP leader arrived at a Colombo police station after being reported missing for several days.Responding to a query regarding attacks on the media, human rights activists and places of religious worship since the conclusion of the conflict in May 2009, the Presidential Secretary said that United Nations Human Rights Commissioner Navi Pillay during a meeting with President Mahinda Rajapaksa last August alleged the destruction of 33 Mosques and 23 churches. When President Rajapaksa inquired whether Ms. Pillay could provide a list of attacked places of religious worships she couldn’t, the Presidential Secretary said.

A smiling Weeratunga said that when he had inquired from UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Sri Lanka, Subinay Nandy several months later whether he could obtain the list containing attacked places of religious worship, he furnished some media reports of alleged attacks.

The Presidential Secretary recently briefed the Geneva-based diplomatic community with regard to measures taken by the government to address accountability issues, including post-war attacks directed against places of religious worship. Weeratunga said that he explained attacks on ten places of religious worship and the status of police investigations and judicial proceedings.

Alleging that a section of the international community had been relentlessly pursuing Sri Lanka, the Presidential Secretary urged Western powers to treat Sri Lanka like any other country and give the government adequate time to address accountability issues”.

  8. Lorenzo Says:

“The Sri Lankan government is in a dilemma due to some foreign governments refusing to collaborate in its efforts to verify information as regards those persons reported missing during the conflict.”

MOST “disappeared” Tamils are LIVING HAPPILY in foreign countries. SHAMELESS Tamils (their mothers, fathers, siblings) in SL knowing this still complain they are disappeared to get MONEY.

    TYPICAL Tamil mentality = parasites.

Because the govt. CANNOT verify the existence of the LARGE number of “disappeared” Tamils who are living in Canada, Swiss, UK, etc., etc. the TOTAL number of disappeared EXEXPLAINED will be VERY LARGE.

International community will ASSUME they are DEAD as Tamils want them to.

Govt. has DUG its OWN GRAVE again!! Govt. census will be another LLRC = OWN GOAL!!

ANYTHING that depends on trusting Tamils will be a FAILURE. Only FOOLS trust Tamils.

  9. Nimal Says:

News media as been critical of some issues with the government and in the absence of the government not responding in a proper way, with the opposition in disarray the international actors are getting involved on behalf of the people.
Government must put their ears to the ground and listened to the legitimate issues with the people.
    My issues are;
Why does the government come to grip with the nasty practice of the colonial rulers where people are transferred from their jobs,if a young couple with children are working for the government, then they may have 3 houses, one for the children to go to school, one for the mother working elsewhere and the third for the husband working somewhere ese and the cost incurred and to right to family life is terrible. This happened to my sisters and brothers.
Two of my sisters never had the chance to live in their homes built by their hard work because the legal system is very cruel and unjust where the wrong dower, the tenant in this case can outlive the legitimate owner with never ending court cases. This situation has lead to a lawless situation.
politicians sets a bad precedence by recklessly driving with a pointless and mad escorts which is a danger to other road users and road users too recklessly drive.Once I was driven to Horagolla to participate in a meeting as an VIP, encountered 3 convoys of escorted vehicles with blinding head lights, blinding me and my driver. Protested to the politicians who sat with me, but they took no notice. No wonder people are appealing to outsiders for help. Long standing issues have never being solved by any political parties. I doubt our politicians, once elected have the habit of giving consultation to the people who elect them.
