Navi Pillay must explain

UN Human Rights High Commissioner Navi Pillay must explain why she and the UN Secretary General are mute in the face of the judicial genocide now occurring in Egypt.

An Egyptian court has sentenced 529 people to death and another 683 sentenced to a similar fate. There was no opportunity to defend themselves as the hearing only lasted a mere two days. Recent reports are that the sentences of some 400 have been commuted to lengthy terms of imprisonment.

Contrast this with Pillay’s position on Sri Lanka where she has criticised that country at every imaginable opportunity on human rights and other political matters that are outside of any mandate she has. She even went to the extent of objecting to the statue of D. S. Senanayake, the country’s first prime minister, being erected in Independence Square in Colombo as a discriminatory gesture towards that country’s  Tamils.

Will she fold her arms and shrug her shoulders when these death sentences are carried out in Egypt? If she is powerless to call a halt to these farcical trials she must abdicate her responsibilities towards so-called human rights abuses in Sri Lanka or step down from her position.

If she does not she will only confirm that , as a Tamil, she is abusing her office and acting as an agent of Tamil Tiger terrorist groups to needlessly destabilise the Sri Lanka Government. She will also confirm she is a puppet of the United States, sponsors of a successful resolution in Geneva to inquire into alleged war crimes by the Sri Lanka forces in the closing stages of the war against the terrorist LTTE in May 2009. An action designed
to twist the arm of Sri Lanka to toe the US line to achieve their global strategic objectives in the region.

Human rights is not a matter for Sri Lanka only as Navi Pillay’s conduct and US manoeuvres suggest. Where is the sound and the fury against human rights abuses in Israel and Palestine? In Egypt? In Africa? In Canada? And many other places on the globe including Guantanamo Bay?

Navi Pillay must explain, or go.

Explain what? That she is well aware of who is buttering her bread?
Pillay has to go for sure. In fact, she should have gotten kicked out awhile back. She is in this position to take care of business for the West. So, as long as she toes the line of the West, her job is secure not to mention the big pension, for sure.

    Hi George!
I will explain on their behalf~ it is primarily because they are pawns of certain Western countries with sympathies for the Tamil Diaspora who egg them on and also because they are deaf and dumb mutes to the real sufferings of genuine victims of man’s inhumanity to man. Pillai will be leaving office soon and its a pity she was not booted out of it for some of her audacities and Ban Ki Moon who will also be replaced soon hopefully would have better served Barnham and Baileys as a clown whose art of mimicry by far exceeds reputed comics!
