With headline news related Anti-Muslim riots in Sri Lanka, there was another incident reported by BBC, Aljazeera, Khaleejtime and many international news outlet about a moderate Buddhist monk who was highly critical of an extremist Buddhist group has been found beaten and unconscious near Colombo.
The Sri Lanka police today said the investigations on the alleged abduction and assault of a leading Buddhist monk had revealed that the monk had made false claims and cuts on the body were self-inflicted. According to the information received, this monk was allegedly working for the Jihadists to propogate negative publicity to the Buddhist community in Sri Lanka and has made statements supportive of Muslims.
Exposing the Sri Lankan Jihadists plot, the Police Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said the monk had confessed to inflicting the cuts by himself during follow-ups of the investigation carried out by the Colombo Crimes Division.
The leader Jathika Bala Sena, Watareka Vijitha Thera, who was found bound and de-robed on the roadside with cut wounds to his body Thursday, claimed that he was abducted by a group of robed men (monks) and assaulted before dumping him by the road.
Contradictions in the monk’s statement on the series of events that occurred on the day he claimed he was abducted, had raised suspicions,” the SSP Rohana said.
He said that a careful study of the monk’s phone records and CCTV footage by the investigation team had indicated Wijitha’s Thera’s statements were contradictory.
Rohana said the monk had now confessed to the fact that he inflicted the wounds on himself using a set of keys and blades.
The investigations have also revealed that the monk had requested a relative to drop him off at Bandaragama in a van.

Anti-BBS Buddhist monk kidnapped and beaten in Sri Lanka

A leading Buddhist monk who has been threatened by extremist Buddhist groups for advocating inter-faith harmony in Sri Lanka was found bound and beaten with cut wounds, on a roadside in Banadaragama, some 35km from the capital Colombo on Thursday.
The General Secretary of Jathika Bala Sena, Watareka Vijitha Thero, who was threatened by the radical Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) Buddhist group recently, was found assaulted a day after he announced at a Press conference that Sri Lanka does not belong to Buddhists only.
Following an anonymous phone call on the emergency hotline, the police rushed to the scene to find the elderly monk beaten up. The monk was taken to the Panadura Hospital, and soon transferred to the Colombo General Hospital due to security reasons,” confirmed the police.
Watareka Thero was found with his hands and feet bound lying on the side of the road. He has cut wounds in the lower part of his body and bruises above his waist,” police spokesman Ajith Rohana told Khaleej Times.
But he is not in critical condition.”

Wataraka Vijitha Thero was found undressed and with numerous cuts on his body in the district of Panadura.
He is a vocal critic of the Bodu Bala Sena (Buddhist Brigade), whose rally in a southern town triggered deadly anti-Muslim riots on Sunday night.
Four people have died in the sectarian violence, Sri Lanka’s worst in years.
Although there has been a lot of discussion of the violence on Sri Lankan social media, most mainstream media outlets on the island – with a few exceptions – have given little coverage and not sent journalists to report on the events, reports the BBC’s Charles Haviland in Colombo.
According to media reports, the BBS has denied being behind the assault on the monk.
Wataraka Vijitha Thero has made statements supportive of Muslims and he has also complained to the police that he has received death threats.
Many of the attacks on homes and businesses took place in the village of Welipenna, near the town of Aluthgama where Sunday’s rally was held. There have also been attacks on Muslim businesses in two other towns in the south. An unarmed security guard from the Tamil minority was killed at a farm near Aluthgama.

How many tribes have been obliterated and the world does not even notice? how many nations have had their cultures decimated and replaced by another culture and the known world does not even blink an eye? Sri Lanka is one of them. It is a small island nation at the tip of India. The “world” treats her as if she is part of India. Most in the world do not even know what a “Sinhalese” person is or even has the time to give a hoot. A case in point was the close to 30 year war or Asia’s longest war fought during the “age of information”. Hardly a media covered that entire war or even part of it. The Sinhalese Buddhist is one of those people who are dying off either by conversion or by the overpowering world of “greater issues”.
Yet the Sinhalese Buddhist has created a great civilization only known to a few scholars and those who care to know. Sri Lanka did not have 9% of Muslims. It hardly had 1% of Muslims in the 1960’s when its population was only 14 million. Outside of her Tamil population who are better known to the world through the Tamil monuments and culture of Tamil Nadu the Sinhalese Buddhist is now relegated to a part of Sri Lanka and not all. Colombo the Capital is a Sinhalese word “Kolumbe” and not from Christopher Columbus as many westerners dismiss it to be. That Capital has a majority of Tamils and Muslims. Sinhalese of whatever faith are a minority. Sinhalese Buddhist are a minority within a minority. Even the Tamils claim Tamil dominated areas of that island nation as “homelands” of their own. The steady expansion of Islam and Christianity comes at the heels of the demands of the Tamils for a separate homeland. looking at it as a Sinhalese the “onslaught” from her minorities did not stop when the war against Tamil Separatism was defeated in 2009 to the resounding sound of FOUL FOUL FOUL from the UN for Human rights violations.
That victory was short lived as the Tamil Diaspora and the UN then used human rights accusations to prolong the war wounds of generations of Sri Lankans. Colombo won the military war with the Tamil Tigers but the Sinhalese Buddhists are losing their culture and religion to the expansionism of Islam, Christianity and the demands of the minority Tamils for a separate homeland. The Sinhalese Buddhists will have to fight in the only piece of land on earth that they can claim as theirs against the encroachment of other faiths in spite of world rebuke and condemnations. Keep in mind this backlash started when a Sinhalese boy was raped by Muslims in a Sinhalese own shop run by Muslims. This comes at the heels of many Sinhalese women who are routinely raped in the Arab world when they go to work as migrant workers. When they return home their lives are destroyed for no one would want to marry them. The wounds never are given a chance to heal

As the responses state, Sri Lanka is losing its IDENTITY as a SINHALA BUDDHIST COUNTRY. Similar situations in Burma(Myanmar) & Thailand. These three countries practice THERAVADA buddhism. As such there is enough common ground for three countries to work in unison to KEEP trouble makers, DRUG addits & pushers & illegals who ruin LANMKA name.
Tamils are still not satisfied, they want more. It is time to say NO to any Tamil demands. They have alrady become minority LESS than the Muslim population. Tamils have had NO SO BADLY by demanding EQUAL language staus when ONLY being 12% of the population in the past. Now they are reduced to 4%.
Whether it is Tamil or MUslims once they come to Sri Lanka, they should learn to behave in a responsible manner & must get along with the majority. THIS IS THE CRUX of the problem. Only in Sri Lanka they try these acts & demands because our leaders have NEVER said NO to their demands.
It is time to give PRIORITY to Sinhalese BUDDIHIST, oherwise Sri Lanka will be TAKEN over by outsiders be they be Tamils or Muslims………….Thank you….All…………..J

It is time to give priority to Sinhalese. . I will not be surprised if Lanka end up as a maralkkala muslim country, due to the apathy of Sinhalese and due to no one to represent them. Even Buddhist monks appear to be muslim agents.

Not too long ago, under terryfying duress caused by the ruthlessly dangerous monk Gnanasara, Watareka Vijitha Thero was forced to utter an apology for errors he never committed. Put under duress by a bunch of terrifying police officers the poor monk can be expected to say anything SSP Ajith Rohana wanted. Unlike SSP Rohana most of us know the difference between real confessions and confessions under coercion.
