Refugee policy awash with lies

WHY have the Greens — and leftists such as former prime minister Malcolm Fraser — made Sri Lanka their favourite villain?
Is it to better pretend that boat people from its Tamil minority are genuine refugees?
Is it so they can now attack Prime Minister Tony Abbott as a criminal for sending back two boats with 200 Tamils intercepted a week ago?
I suspect so, because the Left’s self-pleasuring rage is almost pornographic, with Fraser even tweeting the return is redolent off (sic) handing Jews to Nazis in 1930s”.
Meanwhile, Greens leader Christine Milne called the Government shocking and cruel” for sending people back to the people who have persecuted them”.
But wait. First, if Sri Lanka really is a tropical Third Reich, why did newspapers report in December 2011 that Milne was off on a holiday in Sri Lanka and a rare chance to relax”?
If Sri Lanka’s Tamils are so persecuted, why did the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees last month boast it had helped over 11,400 Sri Lankan refugees who have returned voluntarily to restart their lives”?
Why did the UNHCR also praise Sri Lanka for its great strides in reintegrating 573,651 returning internally displaced persons”, mostly Tamils driven from their homes by the civil war?
And why did the most famous Tamil, spin bowler Muttiah Muralitharan, attack Western critics, saying: In wartime I went with the UN, I saw (the Tamil north), how it was. Now I regularly go and I see the place and it is about a 1000 per cent improvement in facilities.”
I don’t deny there are still some bitter hatreds and police abuses. But let’s not be so naive about the Tamils claiming to be refugees, and choosing to sail 5400km to Australia rather than 30km to India’s Tamil Nadu.
Saturday’s Sydney Morning Herald, for instance, portrayed the latest boatloads of Tamils as fleeing a country suspected of systematic abductions, torture, rape, extrajudicial killings and the ‘disappearing’ of its citizens”.
But the story eventually quoted the wife of one of the Tamils, who admitted her husband had actually been living lately in Tamil Nadu. Moreover, he had crippling debts and had needed to escape to a country where he could earn money”.
So not a refugee. Not from Sri Lanka. And not sent back to Fraser’s Nazi state.

The inherent lie that lies with Tamil asylum seekers is that if they are returned they face the horror of torture and mayhem by the Sinhalese authorities. To date Australia has returned around 100 thousand Sri Lankan asylum seekers back to Sri Lanka.
It is time for Colombo to take action to rebuke these accusations as damaging to the nation of Sri Lanka in their blatant lies. It is also time for those who have returned to report their condition in Sri Lanka. Colombo has a duty to end this ongoing propaganda used by opportunists be they Tamils or Sinhalese who vilify Sri Lanka with false accusations of torture if they are returned.
It is obvious by now that the end of the Elam war did not bring any praise from the world but condemnation. Sri Lanka now has to rectify that lie and demand the respect she has so hardly earned. If these lies persist then any asylum seeker should not be accepted back. Let them pay for the lies they peddle in other nations to validate their reasons for leaving Sri Lanka. Time to root out the “enemy from within” either by exposing their lies or failing that deny them entry back into Sri Lanka for the rest of their lives.

says all. In that case Tamil Nadu should also be a Third Reich.

It is obvious the Australian Green’s party is politically, morally and possibly financially bankrupt party. And it is well known the Tamil tigers aka the LTTE has the financial and political power to attract such powerful people like Hilary Clinton, the British, Canadian and some Australian politicians and NGO’s etc to do their dirty work.

My observations:
The Greens – not only in Australia, but in many other countries, the Greens are acting and speaking in a manner of a proxy for LTTE separatists and their fellow-travellers. Why? Could it be because LTTE diaspora has vast plundered wealth and funds available for distribution and in Western democracies, funds are critical to campaign at elections.
Mr Fraser – It is sad a once respected leader is today making slanderous statements about Sri Lanka and insulting the Jews who suffered in the holocaust by comparing the two situations as similar. Since Tamils visited Sri Lanka regularly even during the 30 year conflict, Tamils own major business ventures in the country, Tamils live in every nook and corner of Sri Lanka and most of all the Tamils escaped from the LTTE terrorists by fleeing to areas controlled by the armed forces, then, what we have heard about the JEWS being persecuted by the Nazis must be a myth, if Mr Fraser’s view is true. Anyway Mr Bob Carr has corrected Fraser’s irresponsible statement, by categorising similar statements by others as “urban mythology”. However Mr Fraser owes and apology to the Jews he insulted by belittling their plight and to Sri Lanka for slandering the nation by blindly believing lies propagated by the LTTE and those in their control.
Disappearances: Sri Lanka will never be able to account for disappearances as many disappeared (a) through abduction by LTTE and sent to front lines to fight and die or simply disposed by the LTTE for not supporting them; (b) many who escaped to Western nations changed their identities, cunningly claiming their relatives in Sri Lanka will get tortured if found out; (c) many who escaped in boats to distant nations like Australia may have got drowned not known to anybody other than the human smugglers, who took their money and sank the boats in mid-ocean.
As a matter of fact, no peace loving citizen of Sri Lanka want terrorists to determine their future. This is why the Sinhalese living in Sri Lanka were happy when the JVP Sinhalese Marxist terrorist leadership was eliminated and the Tamils living in Sri Lanka were happy when the LTTE Tamil separatist terrorists leaders were eliminated. Sadly the so called Tamil separatists problem will continue, as long as the Western nations led by USA/Canada/UK/Norway and EU give them protection for whatever reason.
