The member of parliament for Kalutara district, Vidura Wickremanayake had said that he is closely monitoring the actions of Ministers who purchase hotels.Addressing a ceremony in Horana he said that SLFP is a very respectable party and the party should not be subject to humiliation by carrying out such demeaning activities .It is true we were subjected to injustice, which the President knows. When we told him he had intervened a number of times.

There had been 720 calls to parliament on this subject matter.

CAN VIDURA LIST OUT ALL THE NAMES OF THE MINISTERS AND MPs WHO HAVE BOUGHT HOTELS, AND IS IN THE PROCESS OF BUYING. PLEASE LET PEOPLE KNOW WHETHER IT IS TRUE OR NOT.

  2. Nimal Says:

There’s nothing wrong with anyone buying a hotel with honest money and in a fair and a decent manner. This goes for building houses and commercial ventures.
Government and it’s officials put unjust restrictions, some time deliberately to strangle private development by absurd planning laws.
Recently a big hotel was opened in the hill capital where it was bought from another unfortunate owner who could any planning to build there while someone powerful was able to do what he want and there was restrictions if it was above Maligawa or not. That goes for hundreds of houses that was built while the innocent law abiding are deprived of building on the lands they have acquired from their hard earned to build their houses.

  3. Lorenzo Says:

What is the biggest hotel in the country that serves MOST EXPENSIVE food on ALL WORKING DAYS to 225 people FREE?

(Clue: It stopped serving ham, bacon, salami, pork this year. ONLY halal meat is served. Annual BEEF consumption is over 1 MT. Annual ulundu consumption over 3 MT.)

What is the most expensive hotel? Malu Malu Resort (from where I have been). Guess who owns it?

In what year did the ministry of defence get into the hotel business? 2010.
