I refer to your newspaper photograph and report in the Ceylon Today, 2014-12-30, of Hon. Faizer Musthapha meeting Maithripala Sirisena ten days ago. It also claims that an owner of a television station accompanied Hon. Musthapha to meet the common candidate Hon. Maithripala Sirisena and I would assume that as I am in the photograph, you have referred to me.
I wish to bring to your kind attention that your report is factually incorrect. I met Hon. Maithipala Sirisena at a dinner. Mr Musthapha who is Hon. Mithripala Sirisena’s personal lawyer introduced me to Hon. Sirisena.
I am indeed surprised that an esteemed newspaper as the Ceylon Today publishes online gossip without any verification.
I would kindly request you to carry my clarification with the same prominence you have given to the said article.
